Youth Baseball Skills Clinic Returns To

Eau Claire For Area Students

Bright Start Youth Baseball

Clinics “Teaching Skills & Sportsmanship Since 1995”

Bright Start Youth Baseball Clinics will be returning to Eau Claire again for the 4th year to

conduct its popular and effective hitting and fielding clinic. The clinic is open to all boys and girls in grades K-6

and will focus on the key 9 hitting commands necessary to develop hitting skills as well as specific and needed

fielding drills that are designed to increase ability but more importantly, instilling confidence in all youth baseball

players.

Kevin Hoffman, founder, started the company in 1995 in the north central community of Aitkin where he and

his family have resided since 1994. Since that first clinic, the company has grown and is now in 21 Minnesota

communities and most recently Eau Claire and Baldwin and is still expanding. Hoffman is a retired 32 year youth

baseball coach from the Twin Cities who has extensive coaching experience from T-Ball thru amateur baseball.

He is the former long-time president of the Aitkin Area Little League, former director of the central Minnesota

Junior Baseball Association, certified hitting instructor, certified A.S.E.P. coach, former Aitkin High School varsity

baseball coach, umpire, and youth baseball consultant.

The clinic will be held at the Eau Claire American Legion on Water Street on Saturday, November 12. The first

class is from 10:00 AM – Noon for boys and girls in grades K-3. The next class is from 12:30 PM – 2:30 PM and

is for boys and girls in grades 4-6. Note: This class is as much for the parents as it is for their children and are

asked to stay for its entirety. A complete clinic overview will be handed out to students at the conclusion.

The key 9 hitting commands will be covered as well as specific fielding drills. Students can bring their bats and

gloves and should wear comfortable clothing.

Cost is only $15.00/student with a $2.00 sibling discount of a maximum family cost of $40.00. You must register

by sending the name of the parents, student(s), age of students(s), email address and phone number to:

[email protected]. Fee is due at the time of the clinic. Please check-in 10 minutes prior to class. Note:

There is limited space available and we can only accept 20 students in each group. If necessary, another class

could possibly be added.

All clinics and classes end with a discussion on the ideals of fair play and sportsmanship.

Here’s some of the drills that will be covered: Hitting – Tee drills, soft toss, 5 plug hitting station, Speed Hitter, much more.

Fielding – Crossover step, proper throwing/accuracy drills, soft hands, much more.

Kevin will be assisted by his two children, Chris and Kyle, both former collegiate baseball players. Chris was an

outstanding youth and amateur baseball player and is considered to be one of the best infielders to ever come

out of Aitkin. Kyle was a former all-conference MVP and an all-area team member in the Brainerd Lakes region

of Minnesota in 2010. He is a former member of the University of Minnesota Duluth Bulldogs. Aside from their

accomplishments on the baseball diamond, their greatest accomplishments are team contributions, attitude,

sportsmanship, leadership, and the ability to teach skills.

If you have any questions, feel free to call Kevin at 218-330-0019 or via email at

[email protected].
