Parent InformationThree-Way MeetingsThese meetings will commence on 11 March. Kindergarten will have their meetings at the end of Term 1 and Special Education who have just all had review meetings will have them when requested. However, for years 1 to 6 we have 307 student/parent/Teacher meetings already booked. We have extended the booking window to 4pm tomorrow. Go to www.schoolinterviews.com.au and use booking code 6cvcu.2021 High School Forms High School enrolment forms will be distributed soon. Please return all High School forms to our front office by 20 March. It doesn’t matter if you change your mind at a later date but it is important to have your child enrolled in a school.Free FurnitureOver the next few weeks we have to empty 14 demountables so they can be taken off site at the end of March. We are taking some time to reshuffle furniture so that all class teachers have the opportunity to pick and choose any furniture that is in better condition than what they currently have. However, if you see any furniture out near the skip bin and think you could reuse it then you are welcome to take it. The cupboards would be great in sheds and some furniture could be painted and used in your child’s room. If you know of an organisation who would be interested in students’ desks and chairs please get them to contact me.

guest speakers such as Rove McManus went down and chatted to them plus Ava got to ask a guest speaker a question on the microphone. Thank you, Mums and Dads, for transporting your children and to Mrs Lovett for supervising during the day. DebatingGood luck to our talented speakers at tomorrow’s debating workshop.Harmony Day – 20 MarchHarmony Day is a day of cultural respect for everyone who calls Australia home – from the traditional owners of this land to those who have come from many countries around the world. Leadership DayOn Monday our school leaders travelled to Sydney to the International Convention Centre to attend The National Young Leaders Day.We heard from Rove McManus, Erin Molan, Bianca Chatfield and John Coutis. We learnt the importance of being a good leader and heard some very inspirational stories.Erin Molan gave some great advice and shared her story when she first began her journey as a journalist, “even if you fail the first time don’t give up. You will get there, just keep trying.” Rove spoke to us about his experiences in Television and shared things from his book, his best advice was to “let people help you”. Rove was very funny and thanked all the children for not stealing his lunch money!Bianca Chatfield is one of our country’s top netball players and also appeared on a season of The Block. She told us about the importance of friends and family and how special it is to have them in your corner with everything you do in your life, she said it’s important to set a good example when being a leader or leading a team and also to encourage others in all that they do.John Coutis was probably my favourite speaker for the day and he was very inspirational. He spoke to us about how important it is that no matter how you live or how different you are and the challenges that you face you are just as important as the next person. The whole experience was fantastic and I have taken away some very important messages that will help us all be great leaders in the future. Thank you to Mr Osborne for allowing us to enjoy this great experience, Mrs Lovett for attending the conference with us and our parents for taking us.By Preston C - School Captain

Young Leaders Conference

What an inspirational day our school leaders experienced at the Young Leaders Conference in Sydney. Erin Molan, Rove McManus, John Coutis and Bianca Chatfield (Australian Netballer) spoke of resilience, persistence, believing in yourself, being kind to others and never giving up. Our school leaders have learnt many new ideas that will further develop their leadership skills. It was a wonderful day and I’m sure our students will remember it forever. It was an honour to take this lovely group of leaders to the School Leaders Conference 2020. They represented our school beautifully and I thoroughly enjoyed my day with them.P&C NewsNOTICE OF AGMWauchope Public School P&C Association is holding the 2020 Annual General Meeting on Thursday 12 March 2020 in the staffroom starting at 6:00pm.All positions will be declared vacant including President, Vice President 3-6, Vice President K-2, Secretary, Treasurer, Woosh Rep and Canteen Rep. Community NewsBus Safety Week

Bus Safety Week reminds all road users to ‘Be Bus Aware’ Our school bus operator Busways is reminding all road users to be bus aware as the NSW Government’s Bus Safety Week kicks off for the fifth year. Part of the ‘Be Bus Aware’ campaign, Bus Safety Week sees Governments, bus operators and emergency services raise awareness about the importance of being safe in and around buses and spread the message to ‘Be Bus Aware’. Bus Safety Week provides a timely reminder to parents to have a talk with their children about bus safety; to motorists when giving way to buses; to pedestrians to make sure they’re alert of their surroundings; and to cyclists to ensure they can see where buses are. We all have a part to play in bus safety. The ‘Be Bus Aware’ campaign has been developed with input from Bus NSW, NSW Police and Transport for NSW. For more information on bus safety or to learn about Transport for NSW’s ‘Be Bus Aware’ campaign, visit https://roadsafety.transport.nsw.gov.au/campaigns/be-bus-aware/index.html or visit the Busways website www.busways.com.au.
