The Northies finished an honourable 5th at the

District Athletics carnival last Thursday.

After a bleak, miserable and ominous day on

Wednesday, the sun almost shone, making

convenor, Miss Smith, a very relieved

individual.

Students selected to represent the DPSSA at

the regional carnival on August 31 are:

Elena Mulham-long jump, shot put, discus,

relay

Adrian Mulham-discus

Tabitha Napier-discus

Ben Dunmore-100m

Hannah Dunmore-200m, 800m, relay

Holly Amor-relay

Kylah Learmonth-relay

Charlotte Strong-800m

Amy Weir-100m

Elena (shot put & discus) and Adrian (discus),

did exceptionally well, smashing a few long-

lasting records. Elena was also named as Junior

Girl Champion.

Miss Smith, who did magnificently on her

maiden athletics voyage, will now back-up as

district manager at the regional event.

We Value Values

Well done to the following students who last

week received awards for being top value at:

‘Being Fair’

Fletcher Campion—always playing fairly

with others

Matene Ropiha—being fair in the

playground and classroom

Harley Hicks—always being fair

Peta Thomas—playing sport fairly

Kira Dickie - being inclusive in the

playground

Eloise Ritchie—for being an inclusive and

fair player in the classroom and the

playground

Marion Blease—for playing fairly and

being an inclusive class member

This week’s value will be: ‘Sharing’

Book Week Parade 2015

On Thursday the 27th of August, we will

be having our Book Week parade. The day

is all about celebrating books and stories.

The theme for this year’s Book Week is

“Books light up our world”. Children may come to school on this day,

either dressed as something to do with

this theme, or they could come as their

favourite character from fiction.

The parade will be held at 2.00 pm.

Parents are invited to attend.

The Book Fair will also be open on that

day in the school library, so that children

may purchase books.

There will also be a special lunch from

the canteen that day.

Hope to see many of you there, at our

2015 Book Week Parade.

Little Athletics Visit-Monday

Yet to decide whether, Mr Hogan makes Miss

Smith look good, or, Miss Smith makes Mr
