Dear All,
BE SAFE, BE RESPONSIBLE, BE RESPECTFUL
Welcome to our community for another exciting
year of learning at St Paul’s. We have many new
families starting with us and we hope they feel
very welcome. It is one of the busiest January for
enrolments I can remember.
Staffing News: With Alain Van Gurp’s resignation
late in the year there have been some staffing
changes. Jo Knight will be Acting Deputy Principal
whilst the position is being finalised. Meg Carne
will take Jo’s class full time in Term 1. Jo will now
share with Mandy Cook and Lauren Penny, plus
have two days release as Deputy. Troy Coates will
be sharing with Michelle Dermody in Yr 5/6 in
Term 1, as Michelle has release for her Assistant
Principal Religious Education position.
We also officially welcome Michael Cortenbach
and Kelly Findlay to our teaching staff. Michael is
our new PE teacher and Kelly will be teaching
Music.
We have three new Inclusion Support Assistants
(ISA’s) working in the school. We welcome Jess
Barwell, Sonia Piccoli, and Kerry Gray. They will
be supporting some of our students across the
school.
Building Works: Most of our classrooms have had
their Acoustic Fabric installed. The classrooms
are noticeably quieter. The music rooms and offic-
es near there will be installed next weekend. The
speaker and microphone system is still some time
off as they have been put to tender by the Catholic
Education Office. The gutters on the staffroom
were not completed with our steel arriving late ~
this will be delayed to the Easter break.
School Board: If you are interest-
ed in joining the School Board,
please complete the application
form attached to this newsletter.
Applications will be considered at
our first meeting on February 15
with successful applicants accepted onto the
school Board at the Annual General meeting on
March 15.

the office to complete your voucher. The NT Government provides $150.00 for each child attending
school in the NT. This may be put towards uniforms or your book and resource levy. Vouchers are on-
ly valid for Term 1.
SPORTS VOUCHER: You may now collect your Sports Voucher from the school office. We ask that you
sign for the voucher when collecting it. For new students, parents are asked to order their voucher
online at www.sportsvoucher.nt.gov.au Simply visit the For Parents or Carers section and scroll down
until you find the Request a New or Replacement Sport Voucher link. Please allow 2—4 weeks for de-
livery to your postal address.
BOOK CLUB ORDERS : Book Club orders are sent out from Scholastic through the school
twice per term. We use the “LOOP” system which means online ordering only. For more
information on how to do this please see the link below www.scholastic.com.au/LOOP
Please remember to use your child’s classroom No when ordering.
Brochures will go home Friday and all online orders will need to be completed by 16th February
PARENT CONTACT DETAILS: Please advise the office of any changes to your contact details. This in-
cludes phone numbers, address details and emails. It is vitally important that we have the correct
contact number in view of any emergency. Thank you for your assistance in this area.
SCHOOL DENTIST: St Paul’s does not have on onsite dental clinic, however you can use the Dental
Clinic at Nightcliff Primary school. Parents are asked to contact the clinic on 89226466 to arrange

INSTRUMENTAL LESSONS: Instrumental lessons will take place again this year on a Friday with
Andrew Arthur and Violin lessons with Sarah Ladd. Instrumental lessons will take place on a Fri-
day and Violin lessons will be each Thursday. There will be 8 sessions per term.
SCHOOL START TIMES: We request that families drop their children off at school as close to 8am
as possible. Should you arrive prior to this time please wait on the steps outside the staffroom
before going to the classroom. At 8am the first bell will sound which means the children and par-
ents can then proceed to the classroom.
Each Wednesday at 8am—8.15 there is a staff meeting for all staff. The classrooms and office
will be closed during that time however, recess/lunch trays will be accessible outside the class-
rooms.
PICKING UP CHILDREN at the end of the school day. We ask that all parents/carers who will be
picking up their child from school please wait in the area outside the office and staffroom. The
teachers will bring the children to that area at the close of school.
CARPARK PICK-UP: In an effort to move the traffic along more quickly and freely we have intro-
duced family signs which we ask that you place on the passenger side sun visor and when ap-
proaching please flick down so the teacher on duty is aware of the correct car.
Should you need to get out and buckle your child in—we ask that you use the car
spaces available to do so and not the pick up area. Please request your laminated
sign through the office. Signs will be made ready for next week.
LUNCHES: Lunch boxes are taken to the coolroom each morning between 8.15 and 8.30am. It is
