My Clean City
ApproachDiffering from other environmental initiatives, My Clean City is a merit and results-based endeavor; beyond simply raising awareness of core environmental issues, My Clean City strives to quantify youth impact through the recording of results and the crediting of volunteers and organizations that assist in environmental goals. Together—through this collaborative effort—we can reduce Canada’s carbon footprint and inspire others towards a cleaner country!

What?MissionWe are a multi-pillar leadership program, that collaborates with existing environmental organizations, to engage, enable and evaluate youth volunteer actions with the goal of building a more environmentally sustainable future--an environmental leadership program run by youth for youth, with measurable results!

A sustainable, secure and controlled platform through which you can connect with today’s youth and garner an expanded volunteer base.A unique social media strategy allowing a direct avenue to a vast pool of motivated volunteersA strengthened organization presence through local press, university/college student networks and volunteer rosters.Accelerated impact with tangible volunteer results and access to volunteer feedback and experiencesAvenue to provide youth with opportunities to develop their experience and skills while also making a positive environmental impactBarrier free collaboration; requiring nothing more than cooperation to confirm volunteer participation, My Clean City works to promote environmental programs and supply volunteers traffic free of charge.
How?Our ModelWe transform the common youth perspective of volunteer work volunteer play!We make volunteering an experience full of rewards. Through an interactive online interface, youth will earn CleanCreds for the environmentally friendly activities performed. CleanCreds are based on both effort (volunteer time donated) and impact (positive effect in our community); those with the highest cumulative total at the end of our program will be awarded scholarships and mentorship opportunities to grow their impact to the next level.
BreakdownCommunity organizations and non-profits collaborate with My Clean City to promote their environmental programs through our online interface.My Clean City posts these opportunities for youth on our Challenge Board where users can access opportunities in their area through our unified portal and submit to participate.Users go to host organizations to complete their challenges and earn CleanCreds based on volunteer hours and impact which are recorded to their profile. Each user profile records an individual volunteer’s progress, completed challenges via CleanCreds and quantifies that volunteer’s impact. Rewards will be awarded to the users with the highest cumulative clenched totals.
Who? Our TeamMy Clean City embraces the power of youth in every form. We are youth run for youth. Volunteer driven our team is comprised of over 50 young leaders spanning from coast to coast of Canada. We are Canada's Top 20 Under 20, Shad Valley scholars, young UN Peacekeepers, Sustainability Student Union Presidents, Junior Achievement Leaders, key club & Roteract leaders, environmental science majors, high school students, environmental club founders, passionate change leaders and more!
Our SupportersWe strive to align with existing environmental organizations barrier free across Canada to connect volunteers to local resources. We collaborate with local, provincial and national partners. A few our larger collaborators include Staples, Earth Day Canada, WWF, Canadian Institute of Forestry, Association of Forestry, Students on Ice and Environmental Youth Alliance
