Ponds• the pond Lamberk is near a football field in a
part of Nový Jičín called Žilina
• the pond Čerťák was built at the same named
river near Nový Jičín. It´s a natural water

River Jičínka• Jičínka is the main river, which flows Nový
Jičín
• It rises in Veřovice
• Zrzávka and Grasmanka flow into the river
• Jičínka flows into the Odra
Natural wells• There are many natural wells in Nový Jičín
• We have the Eye well, U mlýnků, Mariánská,
U kříže, U sovy and U Ivana
• The historical stones are important parts of
them and they document the built of wells
Eye well• Calcium water can be found there
• We call it the Eye well because of the legend
which states that some people were returned to
health and their eye problems disappeared
• The Chapel of St Maria can be found in its
surrounding
Drinking water for
Nový Jičín• SmVak (Severomoravské vodovody a
kanalizace Ostrava a.s.) takes care of drinking
water in Nový Jičín
• This company delivers drinking water for us
from a valley in Beskydy (Šance and
Morávka) and in foothills Jeseníky (Kružberk)
Wastewater
treatment • This wastewater treatment plant can clean 3,58
milion m2 for 35 000 people per year.
• There is dirty water from Nový Jičín, Starý
Jičín, Šenov, Životice and Mořkov
Floods 2009• This flood happened on the 25 June 2009.
• Jičínka was flooded.

Czech republic• „Let´s clean world, let´s clean the Czech
Republic“ is a voluntary cleaning event and it
takes place all around the Czech Republic
• Its goal is to clean illegal dumping and mess
• This year it‘s going to be on 8th of April 2017

cleaning?• Everybody from the Czech Republic and who
wants to help in one day.
