Thankfully we have not received any reports of crime in this area this month. Hopefully that is because there hasn’t been any or maybe they haven’t been sent to the News. I hope it’s the former!! (Ed) Policing the Future An Invitation to Meet the Chairman of the Police Authority and the Chief Constable Policing is facing a period of great change. The current unprecedented financial situation means that, inevitably, some police services will be delivered differently. Within the next twelve months, the Government is proposing to abolish Police Authorities and replace them with directly elected Police and Crime Commissioners. Despite the challenges posed by this new landscape both the Police Authority and the Constabulary remain focused on further improvement of the policing services provided for the people and businesses of Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland. We are holding a number of events to give you the opportunity to hear how we are proposing to tackle the challenges ahead. Each event starts at 6.30pm (light refreshments from 6.00pm) and will finish by 8.30pm. Three men, six and a half hours later the shed was finally upright, even though we had two pieces left over!! Thanks to Peter Lawrence and Nick (I'm not a DIY fan) Hardwick and to Peter Begley for laying the slab base two weeks earlier. The contents of the broken shed can now be properly stored and Peter Jones request to have the old shed for the Millennium Green BBQ can be granted. The AGM will be on Tuesday 7th June in the village hall at 7.30 - all welcome - it would be good to see some new faces. For hall bookings please contact Tracy Allen 881733
