Happy 10th Birthday, OHMI !!This is our 10th year of providing music education to homeschoolers and

others who don’t have access to such classes in their schools. To celebrate this milestone we will have a number of events to celebrate. Be watching future newsletters for details about our 10th anniversary t-shirt, field trip to MOT to see Gilbert & Sullivan’s HMS Pinafore, and OHMI’s Birthday Picnic in May. We have a few other ideas we are working on too!

Welcome back to a new year of music, friends, & fun!The Staff has been busily preparing for the start of the new music year.

Please remember to send your child to class with a pencil (no pens used to mark the music!). If they have not been sized for Concert Attire, they will do so the first day of class. Look for a letter to go home from their director/teacher introducing themselves and giving some details about the upcoming year.

If you do not have a copy of this year’s handbook, please stop by the sign-in desk to pick up a copy. The information in it is updated every year, and parents need to be familiar with the policies and procedures outlined in the handbook.

Remind your students that they need to sign in & out every week on the sheet on the sign-in table. It is a safety check for us in case we ever needed to evacuate the building and we need to know who is there and who is not.

We are pleased to announce that Mrs. Anita Kozak will be joining the OHMI Troy staff as our Elementary Music instructor. She has many years of experience and a Masters degree in Music Education. She is a former homeschooling mom who has subbed for OHMI in the past. Mrs. Kozak will be teaching EMC and Elementary Chorus. Please welcome her when you meet her!

There will be a Student Directory going up on the website (it will be passworded so only OHMI families can see it) next month after all the registrations are in this month. We will let you know when it is available!

We are looking forward to welcoming returning students and meeting new ones!
