From the
Wars in the Middle East. Ebola outbreaks in Africa. An upcomingvote on Scottish independence. Racial tensions in Missouri. The NFLunder fire over Ray Rice and its policies on domestic abuse. Upcom-ing midterm elections that will determine control of the Senate.
There is no shortage of news these days, and more reasons thanever to keep informed of world and national events. That's why theHonors College has made it easier than ever for you to access thefull content of The New York Times, every day throughout the year(including the summer). The Times is now available to every Honorsstudent on his or her computer, smart phone, or tablet--all you have
to do is register and start reading.
I started reading the Times when I was in college, and neverstopped. Try to get in the habit of reading at least two or three arti-cles a day. Start following a specific topic of interest, or look out foryour favorite columnist. Read something on a topic you don't nor-mally pay attention to.
There are a lot of news sources today, some more reliable than oth-ers. The New York Times has built a reputation as the nation's"newspaper of record" for its comprehensive and detailed coverageof ongoing issues and events.
For information on how to activate your account, please refer to the
email sent to you by the Times last week. If you have any questions, please contact Lynn Reeves ([email protected])in the HonorsCollege office. Happy reading! Dr. Lasser
