26. And Nooh (Noah) said: "My Lord! Leave not one of the disbelievers on the earth!

27. "If You leave them, they will mislead Your slaves, and they will beget none but wicked disbelievers.

28. "My Lord! Forgive me, and my parents, and him who enters my home as a believer, and all the believing men and women. And to the wrong-doers) disbelievers) grant You no increase but destruction!"

عنهما الله رضي عباس ابن عن

وسلم عليه الله صلى النبي أنفقال اليمن إلى معاذا :بعث

ليس فإنها المظلوم دعوة اتقحجاب الله وبين بينها

Or, who listens to the (soul) distressed when it calls on Him, and who relieves its suffering, and makes you (mankind) inheritors of the earth? (Can there be another) god besides Allah? Little is that you remember!

“Construct the Ark under Our eyes and Our inspiration, and address Me no (further) on behalf of those who are in sin; for they are about to be overwhelmed (in the Flood)."

And as he was constructing the Ark, whenever the chiefs of his people passed by him, they mocked at him. He said: "If you mock at us, so do we mock at you likewise for your mocking.

(So it was) till when Our Command came and the fountains of the earth gushed forth! We said: "Embark therein, of each kind two (male and female), and your family - except those against whom the Word has already gone forth - and those who believe. And none believed with him, except a few."

And he Nooh said: "Embark therein: in the Name of Allah will be its moving course and its resting anchorage. Surely, my Lord is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful."

And when you have embarked on the ship, you and whoever is with you, then say: "All the praises and thanks be to Allah, Who has saved us from the oppressors (wrong-doers).And say: "My Lord! Cause me to land at a blessed landing-place, for You are the Best of Hosts."

And We carried him on a (ship) made of planks and nails,

Floating under Our Eyes: a reward for him who had been rejected!

The Flood

So it (the ship) sailed with them amidst waves like mountains, and Nooh (Noah) called out to his son, who had separated himself (apart): "O my son! Embark with us and be not with the disbelievers.“

(The son) replied: "I will betake myself to some mountain; it will save me from the water." Nooh (Noah) said: "This day there is no savior from the Decree of Allah except him on whom He has mercy." And waves came in between them, so he (the son) was among the drowned.

And Nooh called upon his Lord and said, "O my Lord! Verily, my son is of my family! And certainly, Your Promise is true, and You are the Most Just of the judges.“He (Allah) said: "O Nooh! Surely, he is not of your family; verily, his work is unrighteous, so ask not of Me that of which you have no knowledge! I admonish you lest you should be one of the ignorant."Nooh said: "O my Lord! I seek refuge with You from asking You that of which I have no knowledge. And unless You forgive me and have Mercy on me, I will indeed be one of the losers."

The Son of Nooh

You will not find any people who believe in Allah and the Last Day, making close loving relationship (allies) with those who oppose Allah and His Messenger, even though they were their fathers or their sons or their brothers or their kindred (people). For such He has written Faith in their hearts, and strengthened them with spirit from Himself. And He will admit them to Gardens (Paradise) under which rivers flow to dwell therein (forever). Allah is pleased with them, and they with Him. They are the Party of Allah. Verily, it is the Party of Allah that will be the successful.

And it was said: "O earth! Swallow up your water, and O sky! Withhold (your rain)." And the water was made to subside and the Decree (of Allah) was fulfilled. And it (the Ark) rested on (Mount) Judi, and it was said: "Away with the people who are Zalimun (polytheists and wrong-doers)!"

It was said: "O Nooh! Come down (from the Ark) with peace from Us and blessings on you and on the people who are with you (and on some of their off-spring), but (there will be other) people to whom We shall grant their pleasures (for a time), but in the end a painful torment will reach them from Us."

The Promise and The Threat


And indeed Nooh invoked Us, and We are the Best of those who answer (the request).And We rescued him and his family from the great distress (i.e. drowning),

And, his progeny, them We made the survivors.And left for him (a goodly remembrance) among the later generations:Peace be upon Nooh (from Us) among the WorldsVerily, thus We reward the BelieversVerily, he (Noah) was one of Our believing slaves.

Then We saved him and those with him in the Ark, and made it (the ship) a Sign for the Worlds

Sign to Mankind

Verily, when the water rose beyond its limits, We carried you (mankind) in the floating ship. That We might make it (Noah’s ship) an admonition for you and that it might be retained by the retaining ears.

This is of the news of the Unknown which We reveal unto you (O Muhammad); neither you nor your people knew it before this. So be patient. Surely, the good end is for Al-Muttaqun (the pious)
