COOLING SYSTEM NOVA eCOOLING
Fuel economy at its best - that’s Nova Bus Smart Value offers. The performance of our proprietary integrated electric engine cooling system’s new design is so impressive that we now include it as standard equipment on all our buses. Combined with the latest transmission technology, the Nova eCooling has shown up to 31% fuel savings. It also achieves significant reductions in maintenance costs and greenhouse gas emissions.
Key benefits
• Reduced fuel consumption and greenhouse gas emissions. Combined with the latest transmission technology, our new Nova eCooling system has shown up to 31% fuel savings compared to a standard hydraulic cooling package
• The system monitors the cooling requirement
and is designed to minimize electric load whicle maintaining all components at an ideal temperature range
* Actual savings may vary depending on the baseline reference. The use of fuel saving features will contribute to fuel savings. These features include but are not limited to adaptive shifting transmissions, automatic neutral application when the bus is in drive but not moving, and electric fans (particularly in hot weather).
Tests were performed on a government-regulated research center concrete oval track using the SAE J2711-09 standard.
Bus specifications: 40-ft Nova LFS, Nova eCooling 2013, Allison B400, and Cummins ISL9 EPA2013.
• Positioned out of the engine compartment to improve component accessibility and serviceability
• Both the radiator and charge air cooler are mounted in the same module to ease maintenance access
• Reduced maintenance from the elimination of the hydraulic fan drive oil cooler and manifold
• Positioned for the cleanest and coolest air intake. Rooftop mounting eliminates the need for routine pressure washing/cleaning of the radiator, saving labor costs and increasing vehicle uptime
Technical specifications
• Radiator and charge air cooler use electric fans for cooling
• Optimized fused power distribution box
• The overall rear height of the Nova LFS is 126’’
