MIRZAPUR PARLIAMENTARY CONSTITUENCY

Uttar Pradesh, the most populous state of Nation is served

by North Central Railway along with Northern, North Eastern

and East Central Railways. Indian Railways (IR) plays a very

important role in development of the state and provides

connectivity for freight and passengers, including international

tourists. IR has a history of more than 160 years in the state and

has the highest route kilometers - 9100 route kilometers - within

it, which is 14% of entire railway network. IR has made Uttar

Pradesh proud by giving it Nation's first semi high speed train

Gatimaan Express, which initially ran between Agra and Delhi.

It has now been extended upto Jhansi with effect from

01.04.2018 - a move that will boost tourism in bundelkhand

region of Uttar Pradesh. Efforts for further development of

railway infrastructure in Uttar Pradesh have been intensified in

last four years with 376% more investment in comparison to

previous years. Results of such a massive investment are

becoming visible with enhanced infrastructure and modern

passenger amenities. Soon the era of congestion and

inconvenience will be a matter of past and a new Railway

equipped with state-of-the-art facilities will be able to serve the

citizens with greater level of satisfaction. The longest stretch of

the under construction Eastern Dedicated Freight Corridor i.e.

almost 57% of the entire length lies in Uttar Pradesh from

contributions and achievements of Indian Railways in the

development of the MIRZAPUR constituency of Uttar Pradesh

in the last four years. I hope that it will serve as a ready reckoner

for those eager to know about the role of Railways in the

development of this constituency.

Jhingura-Pahara - Rebuilding of Bridge No. 503 done at a cost of Rs. 9.77 Cr.Solid State Interlocking of Chunar Station at a cost of Rs. 4.20 Cr.Vindhyachal- Foot Over Bridge at a cost of Rs. 3.89 Cr.Road Over Bridge (ROB) in lieu of Level Crossing No-15 Km 762 of 25-27at a cost of Rs. 28.05 Cr.01 Road over Bridge at Km 685/19-23 in Pt. Deen Dayal Upadhyay Jn. - Allahabad section at a cost of Rs. 2.40 Cr.Limited Height Subway (LHS) in lieu of: Manned Level Crossing No-9 C on Pt. Deen Dayal Upadhyay Jn. -Allahabad section at a cost of Rs. 2.25 Cr.Unmanned Level Crossing No-9C on Chunar-Chopan section at a cost of Rs. 4.26 Cr.

2. Improvements in Passenger Amenities:

Wi-Fi at Mirzapur at a cost of Rs. 0.25 Cr.Raising and extension of platforms at Unchdih, Manda Road and Chunar Stations at a cost of Rs. 2.83 Cr. Low cost Platform shelter at Katka & Nigatpur. High level platform at Nigatpur provided.Minimum essential amenities deficiency elimination by one bay platform shelter (5 station) & raising of platforms at D category stations rail to medium level (5 stations). First Foot Over Bridge at various stations (17).100% LED lights at platform, station building & circulating area.

C. OTHER DEVELOPMENTS:

New Trains introduced with stoppage over Mirzapur Constituency.Train No 13345/13346 Varanasi Express from Singrauli to Varanasi-New Stoppage at SaktesgarhTrain No 12801/12802 Purshottam Express from Puri to New Delhi - New Stoppage at Chunar. Train No 12487/12488 Seemanchal Express from Jogbani to Anand Vihar T-New Stoppage at Mirzapur.Train No 75105/75106 Allahabad-Mau DEMU. Train No 11081/11082 Lokmanya Tilak (T)-Gorakhpur weekly express.

D. ONGOING WORKS

Construction of Fly over at Jeonathpur at a cost of Rs. 369.50 Cr.Construction of Road over Bridge at LC no. 124,1,7B,10,11,12,14,16 at a cost of Rs. 70.41 Cr.25 KV OHE Electrification of Chunar-Chopan section at Chunar, Lusa and Saktesgarh has been done at a cost of Rs. 36.12 Cr.Vindhyachal Railway station Lifts at a cost of Rs. 0.86 Cr.02 Escalators at Vindhayachal at cost of Rs. 0.80 Cr.Coach Indicator Display Boards for 03 platforms and train timing display board at Chunar station new Foot Over Bridge at Jigna at a total cost of Rs. 3.26 Cr.New works for splitting of two block sections, logistic park, chord line, satellite station, sand humps, simultaneous movement and conversion to B-class station at Vindhyachal at a total cost of Rs. 2.76 Cr.Extension of Foot Over Bridge at Ahraura Road, Station and cover shed on existing Foot Over Bridge at Ahraura Road, Chunar at a cost of Rs. 2.08 Cr.Replacement of old worn out lever frames by electronic interlocking at Lusa and Saktesgarh at a cost of Rs. 0.86 Cr.Katka-Madho Singh Road Over Bridge in lieu of level crossing No. 30Elimination of LC No.- 28 (U/M) at Km 249/3-4 between Madho Singh - Katka station by construction of Limited High Subway in Varanasi - Allahabad City section. Ongoing works at Mirzapur station: 2nd entry at Mirzapur at a cost of Rs. 15.45 Cr.Beautification and Facade Improvement of station building, Entrance gate and park at Mirzapur station at a cost of Rs. 1.90 Cr.04 escalators at Mirzapur at a cost of Rs. 1.60 Cr.Linking of Line No 8 of Mirzapur to point No 213 by providing track of about 200m at a cost of Rs. 0.99 Cr.Implementation of roof top solar project at Mirzapur and Vindhyachal at a cost of Rs. 0.44 Cr.
