Boynton’s Feathertop Winery can tailor your special day

A COLORFUL blend of rockabilly style made Bee and Kane Voss’ March 16 wedding a hit with the couple and their guests.

The couple, the first to marry at the historic Beechworth Gaol, said they approached staff at the gaol about using the venue because it was “something different”, and said the staff were only too happy to accommodate them.

Mrs Voss said the overall theme of the wedding was “’til death do us part”, which gave the couple scope to include tattoo and Mexican “day of the dead” or “sugar skull” motifs within the wedding.

“Why be ordinary when you can be extraordinary?” Mrs Voss said.

The wedding was officiated by local celebrant Sharon Bihun.

The bride’s dress was handmade in England

from duchess satin with an English lace overlay, by an artisan from England, and she teamed the dress with a multicolored petticoat made in New Zealand.

Mr Voss’ vintage suit and outfit were sourced from Melbourne.

The bridal party were styled in all black with pops of different accent colors – with the women wearing 50s inspired dresses and the men wearing black pants and shirts.

Mrs Voss created handmade “bouquets” for her bridesmaids made from felt flowers and buttons, which were also a gift to her bridesmaids.

The couple arrived at the wedding in style – Mr Voss in a Kenworth 900 truck, because he is a truck driver, and Mrs Voss in a 1960 Pontiac.

Photos were taken at Beechworth’s old railway station, the gaol and also the old Mayday

Hills Lunatic Asylum. The reception was

held at the Wangaratta Magpies Clubrooms, with the MC being the couple’s close friend, who was a groomsman and is also their tattooist, a DJ providing music, and upcycled and repurposed decorations including old records for placemats, jars and Coke bottles filled with flowers as centrepieces,

and other decorations including dominos and poker chips.

As bomboniere, guests were invited to pick their choice of lollies from an enticing display of sugary treats.

Instead of signing a guestbook, guests were asked to put their fingerprints on a picture of a tree to create a unique memento for the couple.

THE spectacular surrounds of the Alpine Valleys, attentive service and careful planning are part of the package with a wedding hosted at Boynton’s Feathertop Winery.

The winery has three different function areas available for wedding receptions – the cellar door/barrel room, the winery itself and the terraced gardens – and, if you wish, your ceremony can also be held at the winery.

Boynton’s Feathertop Winery can tailor your special day

A COLORFUL blend of rockabilly style made Bee and Kane Voss’ March 16 wedding a hit with the couple and their guests.

The couple, the first to marry at the historic Beechworth Gaol, said they approached staff at the gaol about using the venue because it was “something different”, and said the staff were only too happy to accommodate them.

Mrs Voss said the overall theme of the wedding was “’til death do us part”, which gave the couple scope to include tattoo and Mexican “day of the dead” or “sugar skull” motifs within the wedding.

“Why be ordinary when you can be extraordinary?” Mrs Voss said.

The wedding was officiated by local celebrant Sharon Bihun.

The bride’s dress was handmade in England

from duchess satin with an English lace overlay, by an artisan from England, and she teamed the dress with a multicolored petticoat made in New Zealand.

Mr Voss’ vintage suit and outfit were sourced from Melbourne.

The bridal party were styled in all black with pops of different accent colors – with the women wearing 50s inspired dresses and the men wearing black pants and shirts.

Mrs Voss created handmade “bouquets” for her bridesmaids made from felt flowers and buttons, which were also a gift to her bridesmaids.

The couple arrived at the wedding in style – Mr Voss in a Kenworth 900 truck, because he is a truck driver, and Mrs Voss in a 1960 Pontiac.

Photos were taken at Beechworth’s old railway station, the gaol and also the old Mayday

Hills Lunatic Asylum. The reception was

held at the Wangaratta Magpies Clubrooms, with the MC being the couple’s close friend, who was a groomsman and is also their tattooist, a DJ providing music, and upcycled and repurposed decorations including old records for placemats, jars and Coke bottles filled with flowers as centrepieces,

and other decorations including dominos and poker chips.

As bomboniere, guests were invited to pick their choice of lollies from an enticing display of sugary treats.

Instead of signing a guestbook, guests were asked to put their fingerprints on a picture of a tree to create a unique memento for the couple.

THE spectacular surrounds of the Alpine Valleys, attentive service and careful planning are part of the package with a wedding hosted at Boynton’s Feathertop Winery.

The winery has three different function areas available for wedding receptions – the cellar door/barrel room, the winery itself and the terraced gardens – and, if you wish, your ceremony can also be held at the winery.
