Proposed FacilityThe WCMS developed the proposed facility design in conjunction with local stakeholder groups. The facility is expected to be completed in two phases.
The first phase includes an ice arena, change rooms, locker rooms, storage, first aid station, office, meeting room and supporting amenities and possible fitness room.
Phase two is still under development, but would include swimming pool facilities.

Through many years of feasibility and cost comparison studies, we are now closer than ever to see this through to fruition. The committee has worked hard over the past 10 years to ensure that this facility will in-corporate the needs of the communities and that the capital costs for Phase 1 will be fund-raised by the WCMS through grants, private sector funding, and provincial and federal government contributions.
In addition, through research of many com-parable facilities, we have been able to re-duce the expected capital expenditures by half of the original predictions. We are very excited about the possible use of pre-fabri-cated technologies and look forward to com-pleting the business plan in the near future. We would like to thank the ACRD for their continued support of this project.
