    Active Listening is the active construction of meaning from the signals verbaland non verbal.

    Listening is not an automatic response; its a mental process that demands adecision to listen

    May ask Can I offer a suggestion?

    Scaffolder refrain from coming in with solutions gives divergence,

    Dont step in that fast, listen for reasoning, listen for gaps and help them makesthem of the gaps

    Repeat key points to ensure that there is no misinterpretation

    Probing and questioning play key roles in optimising active listening

    - Creates attentive climate that encourages sharing

    Use subtle prompts

    Closed ended questions are bad question, qns that does not promotediscussion

    Ask them how they have progressed

    Socratic Questioning

    Practice of disciplined, rigorous, systematic process
