Public Hearing
Take notice that the Council of the Municipality of East
Hants will hold a public hearing regarding the following:
1) Amendments to the Municipal Planning Strategy and
Land Use By-Law to eliminate the Environmentally
Sensitive Zone in the Municipality.
2) Amendments to the Municipal Planning Strategy and
Land Use By-Law regarding multi-unit housing regulations.
The proposal is to remove the ability to apply for
Development Agreements in the Single and Two Unit
Dwelling Zone, to place a density cap in the Village and
Community Core Zones, and to give Council more discretion
when considering applications for high and medium density
residential developments.
3) Application by MacKay and Nauffts to amend the MPSand LUB by amending the Village Core Designation (VC) and
Zone (C6) to Neighbourhood Core Designation (NC) and
Zone (C7) for lands at 706 Highway 2, Elmsdale. The
re-designation and rezoning will enable the construction of
a four unit apartment building without a ground floor
commercial component.
The hearing will take place in the Council Chambers at the
Municipal Office Building, 2361 Highway 2, Milford, on
Wednesday November 23rd, 2011, beginning at 7:30pm.
At the hearing, Council will consider representations from
persons regarding the proposed applications. To make a
presentation, view the staff reports, or for further
information, please contact the Planning & Development
