Romans 8:37 says that “we are more thanconquerors and gain a surpassing victorythrough Him Who loved us” (AMP). This

means that believers in Jesus are empowered byGod to have victory over sin and the things in thisworld that try to keep us from living a godly life.

So what’s the key to living in God’s power? Theanointing. The anointing is God’s ability in you toenable you to do something with ease, without it

being a struggle. Much like a car’s engine even-tually won’t run very well without motor oil; tryingto do life without the anointing will leave us withsome issues.Every one of us has a calling on our life. But noteveryone does what they are called to do in life. Many times, people get distracted by other pur-suits…get overwhelmed by a task that feels toobig to handle…or they may even get caught up intrying to do what someone else is called to do.And if we’re not living in God’s will for our lives,we’ll end up being anxious, sad and miserable.

Whatever the reason is for getting off track, lackof sensitivity to the Holy Spirit is most likely at theroot of it. You see, the Holy Spirit is our Helper,

our Guide, our Teacher, and more. He is the Onewho leads each person to the work they arecalled to do. And He also supplies the anointing,or power, to do it.So, it is in our best interest to seek and cultivateour own personal, intimate relationship with Godfirst and foremost. Because it’s through a per-sonal relationship with Him that He will, by HisHoly Spirit, lead and guide each of us accordingto His purpose and plan for our lives. And He willanoint, or enable us, to do what He has calledeach of us to do with our lives.

Empty Your GlassThe secret is taking time to get satisfied with GodHimself. God’s presence—His love and grace—is what we really need to be fulfilled and have Hispower in our lives. But know that in this time, there is a lot going on. While we take the time tocultivate our relationship with God…simply lov-ing Him and being loved by Him…we becomeconsecrated to Him.

To be consecrated means to be set apart, or sep-arated, for a purpose. It is a time for receiving dis-cipline, guidance, wisdom and direction from theLord. It’s a personal time… between you andGod…a time for you to learn His true characterand how to trust His way and wait on His timing. You will also learn how to make yourself avail-

able as He is ready to use you.

The Holy Spirit decides when and how to use His vessels. Our part is simple—to be available. It’s like this: If I want adrink of water, I go to my cupboard for a clean, empty glassto use. The glass doesn’t ask me what I’m going to put init…it is just there; ready and available for me to use when Ineed it. But what if all the glasses are dirty or filled with some-thing I don’t want? Then I won’t be able to use any of themas I planned.

So, be like a clean, empty, available drinking glass. Your time“on the shelf,” is simply time to prepare yourself, by buildingyour relationship with God. Then you will be ready for theHoly Spirit to use you however and wherever He chooses.

Release Your Anointing!Your part also includes realizing and understanding that youare anointed. Everyone is anointed for something…called todo something. First John 2:20 says, “You have been anointedby [you hold a sacred appointment from, you have beengiven an unction from] the Holy One….” Believe that! Look atyourself in the mirror and say, “I am anointed!” It’s very important to remember that we are anointed by theHoly Spirit. We are righteous by the power of Christ in ourlives, so any effort on our part to be right by “doing” is liketrying to sit in a chair you are already sitting in! Don’t let your-self fall into the trap of trying to get something you alreadyhave. You are anointed!

The way to release and let that anointing flow in your life issimple: obedience to the Holy Spirit right now! Cultivate sen-sitivity to Him and learn to follow that “unction” in your heart(see 1 John 2:20). The anointing is for now…whether youare working on a detailed report for your boss, preparing aSunday sermon for church, or making peanut butter and jellysandwiches for your kids…you are anointed for this moment.Don’t worry about when it will come; it is in you…right now!

Consider the following statements in bibli-cal record: “When the Lord God made theearth and the heavens— and no shrub of

the field had yet appeared on the earth and noplant of the field had yet sprung up, for the LordGod had not sent rain on the earth and there wasno man to work [manage or administrate] theground…” (Gen 2:4b-6).

From these verses we see that the Creator al-lowed no productive growth to take place on theearth because “there was no man to work the

ground.” The word “work” here implies manage-ment, administration, orderly development, andmaking fruitful. Thus, one of the principal motivesfor the creation of man was to provide a man-ager, administrator, and ruler of the planet earth.

According to Scripture, the word “dominion”translates from Hebrew, meaning kingdom, sov-ereign rule, or government (Gen 1:26). Therefore, the first command given to man by his Creatorwas to establish a “government” on the earth todestroy chaos and to maintain order. Govern-ment is God’s solution to disorder.

The logical conclusion one can derive from thisscenario is, first of all, that government is God’s

idea. Second, according to Scripture, the ab-sence or lack of correct government will alwayslead to chaos and disorder. Third, that whereverthere is chaos, disorder, or lack of productivity, the answer is correct government.

The fall of mankind as recorded in Genesis wasthe result of man declaring independence fromthe government of heaven, resulting in anarchy, social and spiritual chaos. Ever since that fatalfall from governing grace, man has been at-tempting to establish a form of self-governmentthat would alleviate the internal and externalchaos he continues to experience.

The fall of man was not the loss of heaven butrather the loss of the Kingdom government ofheaven on earth. Any honest human taking a se-rious look at the conditions of our planet wouldhave to conclude that earth is in need of a new,or in this case, an alternative form of government. The spiritual, social, economic, physical, envi-ronmental, and cultural conditions of our earthdemand a government that is superior to any wehave yet invented.

So what is the answer to the government issue?Perhaps the answer to man’s need for an effec-tive and just government is found in the first offi-cial words of Jesus 2,000 years ago, as Heannounced His primary mission and commentedon the human condition. The Bible records,“From that time on Jesus began to preach, ‘Re-pent, for the kingdom of heaven is near’” (Matt4:17). The Kingdom of God is the solution.

“God’s Solution-Good Government”

The book of Romans 8:14 says, “For asmany as are led by the Spirit of God, theyare the sons of God.” This means it is only

when God leads you that it becomes certain thatyou are a child of God; otherwise you are none ofHis.

WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS OFDIVINE LEADERSHIP?• You will stop laboring in vain; though Peter wasa professional fisherman, He worked in vain untilJesus got involved in his work and led him to take

the right step (John 21:3-6).• You will enjoy a peace of mind during difficultsituations – Apostle Paul just shook off the snakethat wrapped around his hand instead of fearingdeath as others did (Acts 28:5), since God hadalready told him that he would still preach thegospel in Rome (Acts 23:11).• You will not be deceived – Ananias and Saphirathought they could deceive the church not know-ing that the Holy Spirit had already informedApostle Peter about what was happening (Acts5:3).• You will overcome issues of life and avoid beingin confusion. In 1 Samuel 30:8, 18-19, David in-quired of the Lord.• You will no longer live under condemnation

(Romans 8:1).

WHO CAN BE LED BY THESPIRIT OF GOD?• The humble, Ps. 25:9 says, “The humble Heguides in justice, and the humble He teaches Hisway.”

HOW CAN I BE LED?• By the Word of God: David said, “thy word is alamp unto my feet and a light unto my path (Ps.119:105). He was led by the word of God not tokill Saul even though it seemed right at the time.He remembered 1 Chron. 16:22 which says,“touch not my anointed ones and do my prophetsno harm” and would therefore not kill Saul whenhe had the chance to. He would have taken re-venge but he remembered the word of God thatsays, “Vengeance is mine, I will repay” – (Rom.12:19). Joseph also was able to flee from the sinof sexual immorality because of the leading ofGod’s words which he had in his heart.• By a still voice – (Isa. 30:21; John 10:4).• Visions and Revelations and Prophecy – aspromised in Joel 2:28. This manifested in thecases of Joseph (Gen.37:5-10; Joseph in Mat.1:20; Daniel and many prophets.• By wise counsel – Ps. 73:24; 1 Sam. 23:1-13• Through Prophets – Ex. 18:15; 1 Sam 9:8-9, 19-20

Amend your ways (Jer. 7:3) and allow yourself tobe instructed and led by the Spirit of God in orderfor you to be His true child (Jer. 6:8). The Lordwill be with you.

Before Jesus went back to heaven, He toldHis disciples to “wait for the Promise ofthe Father”. (Acts 1:4) There are thou-

sands of promises in the Bible, so which promisewas He referring to?

The early church knew which promise Jesus wasreferring to because He had told His disciples,“Do not leave Jerusalem, but wait for the Prom-ise of the Father, which you have heard Mespeak about. For John truly baptized with water, but you shall be baptized with the Holy Spirit notmany days from now.” (Acts 1:4–5) Jesus wasreferring to the baptism in the Holy Spirit withspeaking in tongues. (Acts 2:1–4)

Jesus wants you to know the value of the Prom-ise of the Father because He said, “You shall re-ceive power when the Holy Spirit has come uponyou; and you shall be witnesses to Me...” He did

not say, “You shall do witnessing,” but “You shallbe witnesses”. In other words, your very personwill be a witness to Him!

This is because the power you receive when youare baptized in the Holy Spirit is the same powerthat so anointed Peter that the sick were laid onthe streets for his shadow to fall on them and healthem. (Acts 5:15) Even handkerchiefs andaprons from Paul’s body were so saturated withthe anointing of the Spirit that when they touchedthe sick, people witnessed diseases and evil spir-its leaving the sick! (Acts 19:12)

That same power caused a Holy Spirit-baptizedchurch member, who prayed in tongues, to ex-perience God’s healing power when he laidhands on his mother who was in an advancedstage of cancer. And because she was healed, she became a witness of the love and power ofGod to her friends and unbelieving relatives.

Beloved, when you are baptized in the HolySpirit, you will be a witness to others that no prob-lem, trial, disease or sickness is a match for thepower of the Spirit in you!

The Promise Of The Father

Your life will never be thesame if you receive the prom-ise and abide to His leadings. He is your counselor, prayerpartner, comforter...

ACTS 1:8But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you

shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.”

I believe it is the responsibility of every parent topray for his or her children, knowing the times weare living in. It is not enough as a parent to takethem to church and read the bible to them, or givethem the best education without interceding forthem in prayer in every area of their lives. God has placed in our mouths the authority to

speak blessings into their lives and back suchpronounced blessings with prayer. Prayer is theonly key to access the will of God for their lives. The bible says in “Psalm 127:3 Children are a giftfrom the Lord; they are a reward from him.” Tohelp you realize the blessings and reward in yourchild who is a gift from God, I have put together31 prayer points with bible references that willhelp us pray the will of God into their lives, sothey can fulfill their God-given destiny on earth.

1. Salvation—"Lord, let salvation spring upwithin my children, that they may obtain the sal-vation that is in Christ Jesus, with eternal glory."(Isa. 45:8; 2 Tim. 2:10)

2. Growth in Grace—"I pray that my chil-dren may grow in the grace and knowledge of ourLord and Savior Jesus Christ." (2 Pet. 3:18)

3. Love—"Grant, Lord, that my children maylearn to live a life of love, through the Spirit whodwells in them." (Gal. 5:25; Eph. 5:2)

4. Honesty and Integrity—"May integrityand honesty be their virtue and their protection."(Ps. 25:21)

5. Self-Control—"Father, help my childrennot to be like many others around them, but letthem be alert and self-controlled in all they do." (1 Thess. 5:6)

6. Love for God's Word—"May my chil-dren grow to find Your Word more precious thanmuch pure gold and sweeter than honey from thecomb." (Ps. 19:10)

7. Justice—"God, help my children to love jus-tice as You do and act justly in all they do." (Ps.11:7; Mic. 6:8)

One second, your stomach is flat. The next,it’s too swollen to squeeze into your jeans, and you’re burpy and gassy to boot. If bloat-

ing sounds like the opposite of fun, well, an army ofvoices have already made that case. But the goodnews is we can often take steps to prevent it. In-deed, what we eat and drink plays a direct role inbloating. Experts recommend avoiding these dietarychoices.

LegumesIf you need to fit into a tight dress, steer clear ofbeans, lentils and peas. Some of the sugars theycontain are difficult for the body to break down, which leads to gas and bloating.Dairy products

If you have lactose intolerance – which means yourbody doesn’t have the necessary enzymes to breakdown sugar – dairy products will trigger bloating. There’s no need to remove milk from your diet, sim-ply opt for the lactose-free variety.

Asparagus, broccoli and cabbageSure, the green stuff is nutritious. But these veggiesalso contain raffinose, a sugar that remains undi-gested until it reaches the large intestine, where it’sfermented by methane-producing bacteria. Eatthese in moderation, and couple them with otherfoods – doing so will help prevent bloating. Andkeep in mind: “Your body probably digests thembetter when they’re cooked, not raw,”

Sugarless gumNurturing a gum habit? The bad news is that thesugarless kind typically contains sorbitol, a sugar

alcohol known for causing bloating and other gas-trointestinal distress. That extends to other artifi-cially-sweetened foods and drinks, too. Try to stickto 2 or 3 servings of these a day, if you can’t elimi-nate them completely. “The digestive system does-n’t love fake foods,”

ApplesAn apple a day may keep the doctor away – but it’llmake your belly look a bit swollen in the process. Some people have trouble tolerating fructose, asugar found in apples and other fruits. Plus, applesare high in fiber, which can contribute to a bloatedfeeling, Gans says. Try eating half or a quarter of aserving at a time to minimize swelling.

Frozen dinners and processed foodWatch out for microwavable meals and cannedsoups, Gans warns, along with bottled salad dress-ing, condiments and sauces, which are typicallyhigh in salt. “Sodium can be a real trigger, especiallyfor women,” “Read labels carefully and search forlower sodium products.”

Carbonated drinksUsed to chugging a few sodas a day? That couldexplain your bloating problems. The air bubbles incarbonated drinks – even if they’re diet – will ex-pand inside your GI tract, “causing it to swell like aballoon filled with air,” says registered dietitian Cyn-thia Sass

Bulky mealsPerhaps it’s not surprising that chowing down on alarge quantity of food in one short sitting can triggerGI problems. When your stomach is fully expanded,it can hold about six cups of food – think six tennisballs, “That includes salads, so focus on portionsizes,

Whenever I speak about "the hurt pocket," Ialmost always ask the audience a simplequestion: "How many of you would say

you’ve experienced an event in your life that wasemotionally devastating? Something so woundingthat it actually altered your personality—maybeeven your future?"

Without exception, almost every hand is raised.I then ask a follow-up question: "How many wouldsay this painful issue has been resolved?" Now, theresponse is entirely different. A few hands might lift, but the vast majority of those in attendance remaincompletely silent.

It’s unscientific, but this evidence convinces me oftwo things. First, life hurts. We are all touched byheartache, and in some cases the pain is so dev-astating that it redirects the course of our lives.

Secondly, our pain is seldom resolved. Few of usare equipped to properly process our hurts, so theyremain buried deep within us. These wounds im-pact every area of our lives: our families, friends, marriage, children, faith, and even our relationshipwith God.

Wounds must be tended. A cut must be cleaned outand protected to avoid infection. We douse injuriesin alcohol and antibiotic. We apply bandages to helpwounds heal.

It’s much harder to deal with inner wounds. Thatpain may be just as destructive, but because wecan’t always see the injury, we don’t know how to

treat it. Often we ignore the wound and pretend itdoesn’t exist. That’s a mistake. The wound festers. An infectionspreads, and before we know it, this toxic emotionalpain has scarred and damaged us. So instead oftreating the wound, we make inner vows to help us

avoid further pain. These are unhealthy promiseswe make to comfort ourselves in times of frus-tration or difficulty:

• No one will ever treat me like that again. • I’ll never let myself be poor.• I’ll never force my children to go to church.• I’ll never let anyone break my heart like that again.

Inner vows cause us to overreact, and they can be-come the guiding force of our lives. They don’t justundermine our emotional stability. They also dam-age our relationships—including our relationshipwith God—and cause us to act out in unhealthy, ir-rational ways. Inner vows are sinful. They create in us a heart of stone. But through theprophet Ezekiel, God tells us this: "I will give you anew heart and put a new spirit in you; I will removefrom you your heart of stone and give you a heart offlesh" (Ezek. 36:26).

God can remove the hardness from our hearts if weallow Him. God promises a new heart and a newspirit. He promises freedom. We find it when we sur-render our inner vows to God. We give Him com-plete and total access to those painful parts ofourselves and ask Him to perform a miracle in ourheart and spirit.

I know He can do it, because He’s done it for me.He can heal you, too.Blessings,

In 2 Chronicles 20, Jehoshaphat and the na-tion of Israel had to make a defining decision. They were about to be attacked by two for-midable enemies and, from where Israelstood, there did not appear to be a way ofescape.

Jehoshaphat immediately declared a seasonof fasting and prayer. The entire nation gath-ered to seek help from the Lord. Theyprayed:

O Lord, God of our fathers, are you not theGod who is in heaven? You rule over all thekingdoms of the nations. Power and mightare in your hand, and no one can withstandyou. ... For we have no power to face thisvast army that is attacking us. We do notknow what to do, but our eyes are upon you(2 Chronicles 20:6, 12).

Have you ever heard someone pray withpower and determination to gain God’s at-tention? This is exactly what the nation of Is-rael did. They turned their hearts to Godthrough prayer and praise. God is faithful.

His answer came swiftly:

You will not have to fight this battle. Take upyour positions; stand firm and see the deliv-erance the Lord will give you. ... Do not beafraid; do not be discouraged. Go out to facethem tomorrow, and the Lord will be with you(2 Chronicles 20:17).

The next morning, instead of marching intobattle with bows drawn, Jehoshaphat andthe nation of Israel marched forward with asong of praise on their lips. God confusedtheir enemies to such a degree that the Is-raelites never had to fire one single arrow.

Satan hates to hear words of praise spokento the Lord. He knows His defeat is sureeach and every time we praise God. Are youpraising God for His presence and power inyour life?

Prayer: Lord, it is not my power but Yoursthat grants me victory. You are greater thananything that could ever come against me.Thank You, Lord, for Your powerful love! Ipray in the name of Jesus. Amen.

“Give thanks to the Lord, for his love enduresforever” (2 Chronicles 20:21).

Gain God's Attention

You will not have to fight thisbattle. Take up your positions; stand firm ...
