Principal’s Report Class Structure….. Listed below is our confirmed staff and their roles for 2019. As always this is a complicated
process however I am extremely happy with the teaching team and our educational support staff we have been able to
establish for LEPS next year. There are still a number of positions that I am working on completing before the end of the
year and individual meetings to discuss their roles in 2019, as such these staff have not been listed below. I am hopeful I
will be able to establish these roles before the end of the year and publish a final list.
I would also like to take this opportunity to acknowledge those teaching staff leaving us at the end of this year.
Maddison Cameron, Ashleigh Sneddon, Chelsea Smith and Jacinta Elliot have all made valuable contributions from their
time here at LEPS and I wish them all the best as they continue their teaching career. Sue Taylor will also be leaving us at
the end of the year having accepted a position in Orbost, Sarah Caddie will be replacing her as our Instrumental Music
Teacher.

Corringle Camp….. Last week I was lucky enough to attend Corringle Camp for a couple of days with our grade 6
students. Corringle Camp has been a long standing tradition at the school for many years and something the Grade 6
students look forward to all year. So many of our schools are built on great traditions such as these and I want to take
this opportunity to not only thank those staff who spend months planning and running a successful camp but to
acknowledge all those staff who have come and gone throughout the years to continue this long standing tradition.
Programs such as these require staff to go above and beyond their official roles each year, and to maintain a camp such
as this requires the commitment from staff each year. Thank you.
End of year Celebration….. On Friday 14th December we will be holding our end of year celebration from 5pm to 7pm
at Apex Park. This is an opportunity for us to come together as a community and celebrate the success of our students
in 2018. A free sausage sizzle will be on offer and we will have our canoes in the water for students to use. Further
details will be provided in future newsletters.
Final Weeks….. Over the next few weeks we have several events organised, it is always a busy time of year. Staff are
extremely busy finalising student assessment in preparation for school reports, a number of activities have been
planned to finish off the year and a week of transition sessions in December will help prepare students for their new
class and meet their new teacher. Please take note of each event and time to ensure a smooth end to the year. We are
also putting dates in for 2019, please take note of these dates in our newsletter to ensure you are prepared for the
beginning of next year. All students will finish school on Thursday 20th December, all students will resume on Thursday
31st January 2019.
33 Sleeps until Christmas.
