This can be done by pushing the stump grinder to the stump. 6) Position the stump grinder so that the grinding disc is just over the front edge of the stump. Set the wheel brake on the right hand side of the stumpgrinder this will brake both wheels. Adjust the operator handle to achieve better leverage depending on the height of the stump. Lift and secure the main body release pin located right in front of the wheel brake, this will allow the body of the machine to pivot from side to side. 7) Use the throttle control lever to gradually increase the engine RPM to maximum speed while lifting the grinding disc off the ground. 8) Slowly lower the stumpgrinder until the grinding disc comes in contact with the stump. Pivot the stump grinder back and forth in a long, slow sweeping motion. Maintain the same elevation until the front section of the stump has been removed. AFTER USE 1) Turn fuel tap to "OFF" position. 2) Allow machine to cool down. Wash mud and dirt off of the stump grinder. OPERATION1) Remove the garden tiller

from its trailer/carrier. Use caution.

2) Familiarize yourself with the machine and itscontrols.

3) Ensure the safety clutch control lever is in thedisengaged position. The safety clutchcontrol lever is located on the left handle bar.The disengaged position of the lever is down.

4) Remove the shaft locking pin located behindthe wheel axle. Store pin in hole provided onleft hand side of handle bar.

5) The wheel axle will now pivot. Lift up on thehandle to allow wheel axle to pivot. Fortransport, keep the wheel axle forward. Whencultivating, keep the wheel axle rearward foradded stability and control. DO NOT transport the tiller with the wheelaxle in the rear position.

6) Adjust depth shoe (if equipped) by removingshaft locking collar and sliding depth shoe todesired position. Replace shaft locking collar.

7) Open fuel shut-off valve. Set choke control to Choke or Start position. Set throttle control to Run or Fast

position. Set enginestop switch to On orRun position. Pullstarter cord rapidly.Repeat (if necessary)with choke off.

8) When in position to begin garden tilling, engage the safety clutch control lever. Thetynes will begin rotating. Wheel axle must be inthe rear position while tilling. Release thesafety clutch control lever to stop the tynesrotating. Tyne speed is governed by enginethrottle setting.

WARNING! – KEEP HANDS ANDFEET CLEAR OF TYNES AT ALLTIMES!

9) Do not hurry the job. Proceed slowly and allowthe machine time to do the job. When groundis extremely hard, reduce engine speed.

WARNING! – IN CASE OF DIFFICULTY,DISENGAGE THE SAFETY CLUTCHCONTROLLEVER. ALL TILLING ACTIONSTOPS. Press the engine "STOP" buttonlocated on the engine.

10) Stop Engine: Release the safety clutch controllever. Move throttle to Slow position. Set enginestop switch to Stop or Off position. DO NOT movechoke control to Chokeor Start position to stopengine. Backfire orengine damage mayoccur.

AFTER USE1) Turn fuel shut off valve to the "OFF"

position.

2) Allow machine to cool down.

3) Wash mud and dirt off of the garden tiller.Ensure no water enters the carburettor.

4) Remove any weeds, wire, rope or othermaterial that may have wrapped around thetynes and rotor assembly.

5) Return wheel axle to forward position fortransport. Replace shaft locking collar.

6) Return depth shoe (if equipped) to full Upposition.

7) Set the wheel brake on the right hand side ofthe stump grinder and adjust the handleposition to achieve better leveragedepending on the height of the stump.

8) Use the throttle to gradually bring the engineRPM s up to full while lifting the grindingdisc off the ground.

9) Slowly lower the stump grinder until thegrinding disc comes in contact with thestump. Move the stump grinder back andforth in a slow sweeping motion.Maintain the same elevation until a sectionhas been removed, then lower the stumpgrinder to take out the next section.NOTE: Constant build up of grinding debrismay inhibit the stump grinder fromperforming effectively. To help assure safe, effective and efficient working results, keepthe working area raked level and free ofgrinding debris. ALWAYS USE A RAKE.

NOTE: Make sure grinding disc has stopped completely before clearing debris

10) When the front part of the stump has beenremoved, release the brake and push the stumpgrinder forward to a new edge.NOTE: For better performance and to avoidexcessive clutch wear, run the engine at fullthrottle during operation.

WARNING! – Keep hands and feetclear of the Grinding Disc and grinding zone and other moving parts while engine is running.WARNING! – In case of difficulty, releasethe Operator Presence Control Bar. This action will stop the engine. See figure 1.

11) After stump has been removed use the throttle togradually bring down the engine RPM s. Make sure the grinding disc has come to a complete stop before moving the stump grinder.

12) Stop Engine: Do notmove choke control toCHOKE position to stopengine. Backfire orengine damage may occur. Move throttle controlto SLOW position, then push rocker switch to 0(STOP), or turn key to OFF, if equipped.

AFTER USE1) Turn fuel tap to "OFF" position.

2) Allow machine to cool down. Wash mud and dirt off of the stump grinder.Ensure no water enters the carburettor.

3) Remove any weeds, wire, rope, etc. that mayhave wrapped around the disc grinding shaft assembly.

4) CHECK FOR LOOSE BOLTS ON THE GRINDING DISC.

6) Push the stump grinder to the stump, position the grinding disc over the front edgeof the stump.
