2013... Who knew we would make it until today. Our planet was about to explode. The hu-man race was about to extinct. Well, it all did not happen... I guess you all were so excited and wanted to celebrate that at Noxx, because the last few days of 2012 were absolute madness. NYE was the top of the bill. Never before we welcomed so many people at Noxx. Sorry for those who could not get in but as we said upfront: full = full! Anyway Happy New Year to all of you. May this year bring you peace, love and happiness... AND of course the best parties, at Noxx! Where else?!

Therefore we have set up a program which is, if I may say so, quite promising. Our goal for 2013 is to bring you something different every week, but still to keep that typical Noxx identity & sound. We have invited so many artists as The Flexican, Shermano-logy, Pure Sang, Franky Rizardo, supported by our resident DJ crew. Not only do we try to do so on Saturday night, but also on Friday night all Noxx areas will be hosted by the biggest promotors Belgium and Holland have to offer, bringing you all sorts of ecclectic party concepts such as Feathers, RedCup, Issues, Fame XL, BlueFlame, AsianEvents, and many more...

Growing up in Mexico City, Mexico, surrounded by all sorts of latin- and rock music, with an uncle who worked as an audio technician for various shows and concerts. Often enough the young Thomás could go with him to watch his uncle prepare that night’s rock gig. His uncle, aware of his nephew’s fascination with music, hooked him up with a drum kit and at the age of six and when most kids were into football or karate his uncle took him to see one of the best musical teachers in Mexico. This was where Thomás took his fi rst lesson in drumming. Being in-fl uenced by the bands at his uncle’s work Thomás developed an undying love for bands like Pink Floyd, Guns ‘N Roses and U2.

From the moment The Flexican moved from a barrio in Mexico City to ‘De Pijp’ in Amsterdam his best friend Yousef Gnaoui was a witness to The Flexican’s life story for the most part. Sharing a similar love for music they started experimenting with hiphop. When The Flexican was working at a restaurant or playing tunes at a wedding party Yousef was working on his acting skills at Likeminds, a local theatre collective where he met Glen Faria today better known as MC Fit. Yousef dubbed him-self Sef Nice and with The Flexican as their dj and producer the hiphop group Flinke Namen was naturally formed. With Sef & The Flexican being almost the same age and MC Fit a few years older the latter closed the gap as far as age goes between Dutch oldschool hiphoplegend, host and comedian Murth The Man-O-Script who later joined Flinke Namen.

Best DJ, The Flexican became a force to be reckoned with, both as a producer and dj. Never scared to mix one style with another The Flexican saw the opportunity to bring his personal taste and vision for demand to a monthly party when his friends Yousef Gnaoui and Lee Stuart shared the idea to set a similar fl avored party up called TheDirtyDirtyDirty. Successful as the concept was The Flexican’s continued to rise and became thé dj in the eclectic music scene with residencies in clubs like Jimmy Woo, Paradiso, Monza and on various parties and events. Among tho-se are the GirlsLoveDJ’s parties, a successful party organization set up by long time friend Andras Caron. Together with Andras and Sef, The Flexican is working on The Century; an electro-based music project that you can expect in the not so far future.

Through the various paths The Flexican walked to become the dj he is today he receives a unique amount of respect and credibility in the Dutch music scene as a whole. Bridging gaps between styles and time and again able to redefi ne the often-misplaced term ‘eclectic’ he became an entity in different worlds ranging from the gritty world of hiphop to the ever-evolving world of dance and everything that lies in between. From so-ciety’s underground to society’s mainstream; it’s all part of The Flexican Society.

HOW DID YOU END UP AT NOXX?.

When I saw the ad in the paper that a new club was about to open in Antwerp and that they were looking for staff, I did not doubt at all. I immediately contacted the responsible to make an appointment. No doubt about it, I was going to work at Noxx. And look, almost 6 years later, I still am.

WHAT’S THE THING YOU LIKE MOST ABOUT NOXX?

I just love the job as it is. I always worked in nightclubs be-fore. The atmosphere is different from any other job. And the cool thing about Noxx is the atmosphere afterwards. And yes, I am talking about the infamous afterparty’s. Oh lord, you don’t wanna know what happens there... That’s where you feel connected with your colleagues. I love it.

WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE NOXX EVENT OR PARTY?

New Year’s Eve, because every year Noxx succeeds in doing something completely different from all the others. The the-mes, the dancers, the atmosphere....

WHAT WAS YOUR BEST NIGHT EVER AT NOXX?

The best night ever for me was LMFAO LIVE on stage. I could’t stop from starring at the stage. Their show was sooooo good. I enjoyed every minute of it.

WHO IS YOUR FAVORITE DJ, BOTH NATIONAL AS INTERNA-TIONAL?

David Guetta is for me one of the best deejays there is. I know people might be quite judgmental about that, but I like his style. Every song he produces is an instant hit. But if you ask me who I like most in Noxx, I’d say Mr. Grammy, he knows how to blend oldskool groovy sounds with the newest tracks perfectly.

WHO IS THE ONE SUPERSTAR YOU’D LOVE TO SEE PER-FORM AT NOXX?

Well, most of the artists I like most already were there. But if I may do one little request: Please bring us Enrique Iglesias. But that night, I’m not gonna work, trust me on that.

WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE DRINK?

My all time favorite is champagne, but I mostly drink PVC Light. I guess you have no idea what that is, right? Well, it’s vodka with coke light and a little bit of pulco. Hmmm...

WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE DRINK?

My favorite drink has got to be, hands down, Vodka Perier with Pulco. Sooo refreshing...

TELL US YOUR MOST REMARKABLE STORY, WHICH HAP-PENED AT NOXX?

We once won a trip with Flügel, on a very special bus, called “The never going home” bus. That was a great day out with the entire Noxx crew. I will never forget that day, but I’m gonna spare you the details ;-)!

HOW DID YOU END UP AT NOXX?As a party animal I visited Noxx often in the early days. When one day a friend of mine, who hosted a party at Noxx, asked me to be one of his models that night. One thing led to another, so I ended up dancing here several times a month and nowa-days I’m a waiter, because I think my dancing days are over.

WHAT DO YOU LIKE MOST ABOUT NOXX?The thing I like most about Noxx is that there is always so-mething special going on. You never know exactly what to expect. Ok, you know you’re gonna have fun, but the themes, the artists, the different rooms... It makes sure you won’t be bored, never.

WHAT’S YOUR FAVORITE NOXX EVENT OR PARTY?“The Sound of Amsterdam” is really cool, I guess it’s every second Saturday of the month. I really like the Dutch style with lot’s of percussion, drums. Last time they had Franky Rizardo, ever since I’m his number one fan!

WHAT WAS YOUR BEST NIGHT EVER AT NOXXNew Year’s Eve with the infamous “Release your Inner Beast” theme. That was so awesome. I have never seen a club,

at least in Belgium, which made such an effort to create a night out. The shows, the music, the lights, everything was simply perfect.

WHO IS THE ONE SUPERSTAR YOU’D LOVE TO SEE AT NOXX?Except for our manager, who I’d love to see showing his skills on stage one day (Laughing out loud), I’d choose Don Omar. I’m sorry guys, that Latin thing is in my blood I guess...

WHO IS YOUR FAVORITE DJ, BOTH NATIONAL AS INTER-NATIONAL?If I’d have to choose one of the Noxx residents I think I’d choose Mr. Grammy. If I look further I really like Vato Gon-zales. I know both styles don’t do along but still...

WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE DRINK?I like them all... Bring it on!

TELL US YOUR MOST REMARKABLE STORY WHICH HAPPENED AT NOXX?Wow it’s starting to look like I cannot decide anything but I think there are so many stories to tell. I remember that when I worked as a dancer we sometimes partied for days. So when I started on Saturday night I did not come home before Tu-esday. Crazy times...By the way, in the end ‘Everyone has his own Noxx memory to cherish!’, right?

PURESANG Born and raised in an artistic family, it wasn’t a surprise that Pa-blo and Niels Lucker started contributing to the world in a creative matter. During their education at the most infl uential design school in the world, Design Acadamy Eindhoven, their passion for music and performing arts grew stronger. They found a way to combine Art and Music into a lifestyle to which both brothers fully committed to. “As our name PURESANG states, we do everything with complete dedication” -PURESANG

Their career took off when notorious organizations such as Extrema, Par-T, World Finest Clubs, WMC, Ministry of Sound, ADE, Nikki Beach, recognized the unique chemistry of these brothers in the booth and their ability to entertain any crowd. After playing the main stages of leading festivals Solar, Laundry Day, 7th Sunday, Matrixx at the Park and Paaspop to name a few their reputation swiftly spread which resulted in a full schedule in the Netherlands, also known as the most saturated and critic DJ market in the world. Awarded venues such as Escape, Bermuda, MIXX, Brothers, Club Noa, praise Puresang for their energetic performance, appearance and ability to always deliver a unique experience for their guests.

Sharing the stages with many Dutch and international reputable djs for instance Hardwell, R3hab, Nervo, Shermanology, Sidney Sam-son, it didn’t take long for the brothers to get noticed by Holland’s neighboring countries Germany and Belgium. After the leading venues Carre, NUNU Club, Versuz, AER club among many started booking Puresang frequently the brothers have travelled and perfor-

med all over the world, selling out venues in the USA, Switzerland, Poland, Belgium, Caribbean, Germany, Spain and so on.

Once their track ‘Moonbird’ leaked out, it became the fi rst track that hit the DMC buzz chart before even being signed. After its offi cial release ‘Moonbird’ was highlighted on the leading blogs danceastro-naut.com and beatmyday.com. Immediately the boys received the props of heavy-weights in the dance scene such as Benny Benassi, Dada life, Zedd, John Dahlback and Steve Aoki. There are some killer remixes and collaborations in the works for Puresang in the following months. For those still waiting to discover PURESANG, be quick. Nobody knows where the future will bring them, but their success last year gives a clear direction.
