was going to be a tough encounter as Ballymartle were
in championship up to last week. Ballymartle took the
game to Valleys and led 2-5 to 0-1 after twenty
minutes, Valleys score coming from Peter Callanan.
Valleys kept trying but Ballymartle were too strong and
led 3-8 to 0-2 at half time, Peter Callanan getting his

Fe 18 C3 Football League Final Valleys C3 Minor footballers travelled to Togher to
take on St Finbarrs in their league final last Tuesday
night. Playing into a stiff breeze in the first half Valleys
opened their account with a Neil Collins point. With
both defenses on top and tough wind conditions,
scores were hard to come by. Two goals from St
Finbarrs had them leading towards half time. A Dan
Lynch goal and a Jason Cronin point kept Valleys in
touch. Another goal courtesy of Eoghan Crowley had St
Finbarrs leading 2-3 to 2-2 at half time.
Valleys took over at the start of the second half. With
Diarmuid Ryan, Ben Carthew and Cormac Kilduff on
top, Valleys kept St Finbarrs at bay. Points from Brian

Fe 15 P2 Football Championship Semi
Final The U15 footballers travelled to Bishopstown on
Sunday afternoon last to play the hosts in the U15 P2
Football championship semi-final. These two teams
met in last year’s U14 P2A final when Valleys just came
out on top so a tight battle was expected.
Valleys opened strongly taking a 0-6 to 0-0 lead after
15 minutes before Bishopstown struck for a goal.
However Valleys responded with a goal of their own
shortly after before the sides exchanged points to
leave a half time score of Valley Rovers 1-7
Bishopstown 1-1
The second half saw Valleys extend their lead to 8
points before Bishopstown hit a purple patch scoring 1-
2 without reply. With just a goal separating the sides
and with one of our players black carded shortly after
coming on Valleys were coming under pressure but
responded to the challenge scoring another 1-1 before
a late Bishopstown penalty and Valleys point saw our
lads run out deserving winners on a final score of Valley
Rovers 3-11 Bishopstown 3-4.
Valleys will now play Bantry Blues in the final, on
Sunday at 2pm in Ahiohill.
Team:
Aaron White,
Ruairi O’Donovan, Charlie O’Sullivan, Jonathon O’Leary,
James O’Sullivan, Cian Johnson, Conor Hoban,

U16B League Semi-Final Milstreet travelled to Brinny on Sunday last to take on
Valley rovers in the U16 League semifinal. Played in
blustery conditions that made scoring difficult Valley
Rovers took an early lead of 2 point. Milstreet matched
Valley Rovers scoring before Tara Gilli pounced for a
goal to put the Rovers 4 points up midway through the
half. Milstreet responded by scoring the next 2 points
to have the deficit down to two points before Valleys
struck for 2 goals in 3 minutes to put daylight between
the teams. Kate Lynch finished the half with a well
worked point to leave Valley Rovers up 3 goals at the
short whistle.
The second half was a very low scoring affair with the
tricky wind contributing but Valley s struck first shortly
after half time when Grace Geary showed her
poachers instinct to score an excellent goal. Credit to
Milstreet they never gave up and were rewarded with
a goal of their own 10 minutes into the second half
which proved to be their only score of the half. Valley
Rovers finished out the game with another goal and a
point to record a 5-05 to 1-04 win.
Valley Rovers now progress to the final of the league
where they play near neighbours Courcey Rovers in a
few weeks time. Well done to the girls and we wish
them the best of luck in the Final. Team:
Cliodhna Prendegast,
Hannah Morrissey, Anna Collins, Sarah Crowley,
Lucy McCarthy, Molly Lynch, Sinead McCarthy,
Clare Flynn, Cora Higgins,
Orla O’Sullivan, Kate Lynch, Emily Barry,
Tara Gilli, Fiona Twohig, Grace Geary.
Subs: Ciara O’Sullivan, Ava Cullinane, Niamh Quinn &
Grace O’Dwyer (Injured).
Scores: Orla O’Sullivan 2-2, Fiona Twohig 1-2, Tara
Gilli, Grace Geary 1-0 each & Kate Lynch 0-1.

turf in Pairc Ui Chaoimh last Friday evening. Douglas,
Ballygarvan & Carrigaline participated along with
Valleys. The games were 15 minutes apiece with
valleys coming out on top in all 3. Well done to all
involved.

Carrigdhoun U13 Development Squad
The Carrigdhoun U13 team had the last blitz of the
year last weekend when they travelled to
Newtownshandrum to play Muskerry & Imokilly.
Valleys had 3 girls on the squad on the day but also
had 2 more girls come to the rescue & step in when
injuries left the Carrigdhoun team short players for the
final game. Well done to Ciara Dullea, Kate McEntee
and Caoimhe Craig who are part of the Squad & Aoife
Dullea and Aine Rose Sheehan who stepped in to help
out.
Fia Johnson & Eve O’Dwyer have already been selected
from this squad for the Cork U14 team for next year so
we are still hopefully a few more of these girls will yet
too. Well done to them all.
