Parent teacher meetings will be held in the school on the 23rd and the 24th of October. Please contact the school office to arrange a time suitable. Meetings for Rang 4 are being held this week. If you cannot make the meetings on the days listed please arrange an alternative date with your child’s teacher.

Tá seo cruthaithe ag John Hayes agus coimisiúnaithe ag pobal na scoile.A mass in memory of Áine Colbert on her first anniversary will be held in the school hall. There will be limited room for parents to attend if they wish. A buddy bench in memory of Áine will be

The school Green Schools Committee asks everyone to try and walk to school this week as it is Green Schools “Climate Action Week”. The committee are hoping to give out an “upcycled prize” to a pupil who has walked every day to school this week.

Irish classess will resume for parents next month from Tuesday the 5th Nov. 9:30 am. Classes will last an hour. All are welcome.

Beidh a gcéad díospóireacht in aghaidh Glór na Mara ar an Tá Muireann; Shaylyn; Seán; Hannah; Céitlín; agus Ella Florentin ar an bhfoireann. As an seisear ní bheidh ach triúr ag caint ag an díospóireacht agus beidh na daoine eile mar thaighdeoirí. Beidh an comórtas tré Bhéarla agus beidh siad ag plé “ Mobile phones should be banned for primary school children.”

• Discussed GDPR & impact to school christmas cards; the school will not be doing Christmas cards this year. Thank you to Laura McGibney who had volunteered her time again this year for this project. 1st fundraiser for this school year = Bag Pack; date in November to be confirmed & then volunteers will be sought. Annual Accounts read; �547 opening balanceChairman (Paul Cleary) thanked outgoing committee for their work last year. Thank you Sarah McDonald, Yvonne McCormack, Paul Cleary and all the parents who attended the Parents Association Meeting and who volunteered a the various fundraising events.Also thank you to Yvonne Smyth for her help.Discussed Role of Parents Association; fund raising & consultative roll for the board of management. Elections for new Parents association; Congratulations and welcome to Norah Storey and Lisa Stephens. Yvonne MCCormack has also agreed to remain on.Board of Management runs for a 3 year term, the current board will be retiring this year and a new board need to be elected, there are usually 2 parents representatives and local representatives on the board. All meetings are through Irish, but fluency is not required. The school will be notifying of the date for nominations and elections in the coming weeks. New board required to be in place by December. So this is your opportunity if it is something that interests you. Climate Action Week is week commencing 14th October in the school; the cosite glas will be holding events. Parent Teacher Meeting are early this year, 23/24 October, the school will; be notifying parents. Other Fundraising events for this calendar year: discussed potential for concert in March 2020. Coiste na dTuistí - Parents Association Gaelscoil Philib Barún Siúlóid Scoile / The school sponsored walk Tá an-chuid carta urraíochta seolta ar ais agus taimid fíorbhuioch as an méid ata bailithe ar son na scoile.There has been a great response to the school walk sponsorship cards and most of them have been returned. We are very grateful for all the money raised as it will help the school enormously to participate in sports and activities for all the pupils. If you have a card still to be returned please drop it in to the office
