The exam is designed to certify the competency of entry-level PC computer service profession- als in installing, maintaining, customizing, and operating personal computers. The A+ Certification is sponsored by the Computing Technology Industry Association (CompTIA). A+ Certification qualifies you for a variety of IT job roles including: IT Support Specialist Help Desk Technician Technical Support Analyst Desktop Support Technician Senior IT Technician PC and Hardware Repair Congratulations to Jay and his instructor, Mr. Carlos Garcia. W e hope everyone had a great Memorial Day weekend. This is a short but important week. On Friday, NVOC will host the annual High School Graduation to celebrate the stu- dents who have earned their high school diploma or passed the High School Equivalency Test. Moments like these show how students help spread the word of our excellent programs through their own success stories. Registration Schedule

The new DACESIS program is replacing our current ASIS system starting July 1, 2019 and teachers will need to be trained on the use of the new system. Our DACESIS Coordi-nator, Delmy Walker, and ITTA, Barry Bakin, will offer trainings for all of our teachers at each site on the new at-tendance procedures and other features of this program. Teachers who are eligible may receive DSTR or Salary Step Advancement. 12:45 pm—2:45 pm Tuesday 5/28 NVOC Room 102 Wednesday 5/29 EVSC Room 203 Thursday 5/30 North Hollywood ALC Room 2 Friday 5/31 Rinaldi Room C 5:00 pm-6:00 pm Thursday 5/30 NVOC Room 102 Make-Up Training 8:00 am—10:00 am Monday 5/30 NVOC Room 102 All teachers are required to take this necessary training in order to do the e-Attendance and utilize other features. If you are unable to attend any of the trainings the week of May 28-31, you must attend the make up training on June 10, the pupil-free day. Please make sure you have your LAUSD Single Sign-On (SSO) Username and Password . If you are unable to log into district applications requiring SSO access, contact the ITD Helpdesk at (213) 241-5200 for assistance prior to the training.

As of Tuesday, May 28, the following summer courses have reached maximum enrollment and are full. Computer Lab Math Lab Reading 2/3 There are many ESL, Academic and CTE courses still availa-ble. Visit the registration office for more information.

Equipment Loans to be Returned

Any staff member who has checked out equipment is re-minded to return the equipment borrowed before June 6. Equipment needs to be checked in the inventory by the end of the school year. If you need to borrow the equip-ment after the end of the spring semester, please let us know and we will gladly extend the loan once it is marked in the inventory. Teachers working in the summer who need equipment are encouraged to talk to Mr. Wickham as soon as possible. NVOC is committed to supporting our teachers’ technology needs through equipment loans and we must make every effort to account for, repair and re-place equipment when needed. Requesting technology is done through assistant principals who review the request and approve the order.
