The NYS DEC/EFC Wastewater InfrastructureEngineering Planning Grant (EPG) will assist municipalities facing economic hardshipwith the engineering and planning costs of CWSRF-eligible water quality projects.

Workforce DevelopmentGrants (DOL EET, NHT, UWT)

Grant funding is available to private sector for-prot and not-for-prot businesses,training providers and local workforce investment boards to upgrade the skills of theworkforce. Classroom instruction will be provided to existing employees who are atrisk of being laid off without the training; newly-hired workers who were long-termunemployed will be trained on-the-job to perform their required job duties; and long-term unemployed individuals will be trained in a classroom setting for positions thatare open in the region, with a commitment by businesses to interview individualswho successfully complete the training. Local Government EfciencyGrants (DOS LGE)

For the 2013-2014 program year, $4 million is available under the Local GovernmentEfciency (LGE) Grant program to assist local leaders reduce municipalexpenditures, limit the growth in property taxes and increase efciencies in localservice delivery. Projects can include local government reorganization, functional orservice delivery consolidation, city or county charter revisions that include functionalconsolidation, cooperative service agreements, and establishment of regional servicedelivery mechanisms.

The Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Program is a federally fundedprogram authorized by Title I of the Housing and Community Development Act of

1974. The CDBG Program is administered by the Ofce of Community Renewal(OCR) under the direction of the New York State Housing Trust Fund Corporation(HTFC). NYS CDBG funds provide eligible small communities and non-urbancounties in New York State with an opportunity to undertake activities that focus oncommunity development needs such as creating or expanding job opportunities,providing safe affordable housing, and/or addressing local public infrastructureand public facilities issues. The primary statutory objective of the CDBG programis to develop viable communities by providing decent housing and a suitable livingenvironment by expanding economic opportunities, principally for persons of low andmoderate income.
