•REVIEWS •AWARDS •CONTACT CAAbout Catherine Anderson... Catherine Anderson, born in 1948, is a bestselling American romance novelist. Anderson, who resides in the pris-tine woodlands of Central Oregon, is married to her high school sweetheart, Sid, and has authored more than 30 award-winning historical and contemporary romances. Some of Anderson’s earliest memories included playing dolls at her mother's feet while she clacked away on an old Un-derwood. Her mother typed away at stories and then read them aloud to her children. With such an early influence and inspira-tion, it seems inevitable that Anderson would eventually become a writer in her own right. But such a course of action would not be immediate, as Anderson spent many years devoting her time exclusively to her husband and two young sons. When the children were grown, Anderson enrolled in accounting courses at college in order to assist her husband, Sid. As the wife of an entrepreneur, she felt that she would be an invaluable asset as his bookkeeper. Yet, even though she was an exemplary student, numbers simply did not make her happy. With Sid’s blessing, she dropped out of college and started writing full time. Sid has often said that buying her first typewriter was the best investment he ever made. Anderson published her first novel, Reasonable Doubt, to Harlequin Intrigue in 1988. She authored three more books with HQN before spending over four years total researching and writing the Comanche series. The first title, Comanche Moon, was published in 1991. Throughout her career, Anderson has alternated between historical and contemporary romance. Many of her novels feature characters with disabilities. Animals are a recurring theme in her works, with the setting being on or near horse ranches. Her later novels, including SUN KISSED and MORNING

LIGHT, have reached the top 5 and 10 of the New York Times Best-seller lists. Throughout her career, she has made numerous other bestseller lists such as: USA Today, Publisher’s Weekly, Ingram, Waldenbooks, and Barnes and Nobles. She has received nine nominations for the Romantic Times Reviewer’s Choice Awards, as well being a RITA award finalist for INDIGO BLUE. Her novel, CHERISH, was a Romantic Times Award Winner. In 2004, Anderson was awarded a Career Achievement Award by Romantic Times for Contemporary Romance. Anderson’s works have been translated into numerous languages and distributed around the world. In addition, many titles have been made into audio books. Nearly a dozen have been made available in large print. Anderson has at-tended numerous RWA conventions, as well as participating in the writer/reader cruise “Get Caught Reading At Sea.” In May of 2008, Anderson’s classic historical romance, COMANCHE MOON, was reissued to the delight of her readers worldwide. Long out of print, the book hit the New York Times bestseller list. The next two titles in the series are scheduled for reissue by her publisher, Penguin Putnam/New American Library. Scheduled for release in January of 2009 is her newest book, STAR BRIGHT. It is the heartwarming story of an abused woman’s struggle to reclaim her confidence, regain her sense of self, and find true love. STAR BRIGHT was chosen as a Great Reads-Guaranteed Book from Penguin Group. In addition, Wal-Mart awarded STAR BRIGHT the Read of the Month for January, 2009.
