O3b satellite – 8,062km

O3b’s satellites will be placed in orbit 8,062 kilometers from the earth providing around 70% of the world’s population with fiber quality internet connectivity.

O3b’s unique network of Medium Earth Orbit (MEO) satellites offer low latency, with round trip data transmission of less than 150 milliseconds. Using our network, our customers can offer a variety of applications to a wide range of business, consumers, government and public organizations.

Offshore Communications

O3bEnergy offers the performance of fiber with the flexibility of satellite, delivered cost effectively and reliably. O3bEnergy is the first satellite solution that matches your IT investments, with a transport technology designed to meet the performance needs of your network now and in the future. We offer unlimited scalable bandwidth whilst reducing network latency to one quarter of that for existing geostationary satellites.

Government

Flawless communications for the Government sector is paramount. O3b provides secure communication solutions, combined with global coverage to government entities, humanitarian organisations and international peace-keeping and aid agencies. Using our unique MEO constellation, which offers high speeds and low latency, Government customers can take advantage of sustainable, secure, cost-effective communication solutions, combined with global coverage and the ability to deliver mission critical applications when and where they are needed.

Mobile Backhaul

Reach more subscribers for less with O3bCell, the smarter solution for mobile backhaul. O3bCell allows mobile operators to reach more subscribers economically, significantly improving voice quality while supporting data rates unachievable using conventional satellite solutions. O3bCell is the response to the challenges of today’s emerging market network operators.

Maritime

On shore, the days of voice communication as the primary means of staying connected are long gone and the same is now true at sea. O3b’s satellites provide fiber like throughput with an average of three to four times higher bandwidth capacity than geosynchronous or inclined orbit satellites. More bandwidth means more people can be connected to the internet at fiber speeds, and unlike alternative satellite solutions, bandwidth demand will not outstrip O3b’s own ability to supply capacity.
