Developed to meet a business need

Over three billion people in the world are denied the benefits of globalization because they are denied access to 21st century communications networks. Historically, they have not been able to access the internet, meaning they have not been able to connect with the rest of the world and benefit from the economic growth that can come with that connection. O3b is deploying a next-generation satellite network that enables telecommunications operators, internet service providers, enterprise and government customers in these markets to extend their range and reach of service through fast, flexible and affordable connectivity.

O3bEnergy is the first satellite solution that matches your IT investments, with a transport technology designed to meet the performance needs of your network now and in the future. We offer unlimited scalable bandwidth whilst reducing network latency to one quarter of that for existing geostationary satellites.

Government

Flawless communications for the Government sector is paramount. O3b provides secure communication solutions, combined with global coverage to government entities, humanitarian organisations and international peace-keeping and aid agencies. Using our unique MEO constellation, which offers high speeds and low latency, Government customers can take advantage of sustainable, secure, cost-effective communication solutions, combined with global coverage and the ability to deliver mission critical applications when and where they are needed.

Mobile Backhaul

Reach more subscribers for less with O3bCell, the smarter solution for mobile backhaul. O3bCell allows mobile operators to reach more subscribers economically, significantly improving voice quality while supporting data rates unachievable using conventional satellite solutions. O3bCell is the response to the challenges of today’s emerging market network operators.

Maritime

On shore, the days of voice communication as the primary means of staying connected are long gone and the same is now true at sea. O3bMaritime will deliver for the first time truly immersive broadband experience at sea leading to unrivalled guest satisfaction, providing increased revenue generation, enhanced crew welfare and the potential for greater IT operational efficiency for the cruise operators.

The O3b advantage

High capacity

O3b’s satellites provide fiber like throughput with an average of three to four times higher bandwidth capacity than geosynchronous or inclined orbit satellites. More bandwidth means more people can be connected to the internet at fiber speeds, and unlike alternative satellite solutions, bandwidth demand will not outstrip O3b’s own ability to supply capacity. We can give you complete assurance that as a supplier we can match your growth.

Page 17: O3b Networks presentation

Affordable cost

The O3b solution eliminates the need to construct extensive and expensive terrestrial backhaul networks, offering lower cost per megabit then current geosynchronous or inclined orbit satellites. This enables our operators to connect more customers, and the ability to focus more time on the front end of their business, increasing market share and profitability.

Global coverage

Satellite technology can deliver internet connectivity to any location on the planet.

O3b’s next-generation satellite constellation will reach consumers, businesses and other organizations in 180 countries across Asia, Africa, Latin America, the Middle East and The Pacific.

Several billion people will enjoy access to broadband for the first time. If you can see the sky, the O3b network can connect you.

Fiber speed

Satellite reachLow latency

O3b’s unique network of Medium Earth Orbit (MEO)satellites virtually eliminates high latency. Round-tripdata transmission takes less than 150 milliseconds. This creates a web experience significantly closer to terrestrial systems such as DSL or Optical Fiber.

For the end customer, this means…l Fast web access l Clear, natural voice communicationsl Real-time, lag-free video conferencingl Full-speed IP over VPNl Seamless access to web-based software and services

O3b Networks enjoys world-class financial and operational support from an investment team that has the technical understanding and diverse experience necessary to enable O3b to realize its goals.

“O3b not only brings connectivity to emerging markets. It brings good low latency connectivity, so people can have the same kind of broadband experience that you have in the developed world with good infrastructure in some of the most remote places. Connectivity and information are great equalizers. It allows people to grow, it allows countries to grow and we think that O3b can be part of that growth by bringing not only bandwidth, but stimulating more bandwidth to come in, because of the growth ”Larry Alder, Business Operations Director, Google
