Philosophy and VisionOlney Adventist Preparatory School
is a kindergarten through 8th grade
Christian school. Our philosophy is built
on the belief that God has created each
student with unique abilities and gifts,
and through His grace and strength all
children can achieve! It is our purpose
to help children discover God’s will for
their life, to develop and improve their
abilities and to awaken a spirit of service
by following Christ’s example. It is our
vision to holistically educate our children
in mind, body, and spirit.
FaithWe are a Christian community whose faith is based in Jesus Christ. Our goal is to instruct children from a biblical perspective and to encourage them in developing a personal relationship with Jesus. We strive to instill in our students a love for God and His Word, a desire to learn more about His world, and a spirit of service.
Academic ProgramOur academic program is focused on the philosophy that all students can go “above and beyond” when given a rigorous program, strong educators, innovative techniques, and a supportive environment. We accommodate the individual needs of every student through opportunity, flexible grouping, and creative curriculum. We believe students learn best in small classroom environments and with individualized instruction.
Along with our core curricula, we also teach Bible, Art, Music, Choir, Spanish, Physical Education, and Etiquette.
StandardsBuilding Christian character in a positive environment is a high priority at Olney Prep. Integrity, grace, respect, leadership, responsible citizenship, and personal discipline are developed in our students and modeled by our staff. With this concept in mind, we have replaced “rules” with school-wide “standards.”
You are what you demonstrate yourself to be: Be safe Be responsible Be respectful and kind Be a good listener Be your best!
Daily class meetings develop active listening and conflict resolution skills. Teachers and students work together to discuss personal and academic goals, challenges, and accomplishments that they have experienced through the week.
