OBJECTIVEVS. SUBJECTIVE

• Objective – Reports! does not reveal the author’s personal emotions, opinions or judgments

• Newspapers, history books, science articles

• Subjective – reveals the author’s judgments, biases and feelings

• Editorials, personal essays, autobiographies

OBJECTIVE VIEW OF ART

• The composition forms a triangle with the light source of the overhead lamp

• Symmetrical grouping

• Focus is on the figures – background is muted

SUBJECTIVE VIEW OF ART• Shows emotional

and physical struggle between two boys

• Uses few colors to highlight the boys’ figures

• Gives the feeling of being at night

• The bigger boy will lose because he is not as determined
