ABOUT ▬Ocean Shores sits on a 9.3 square mile peninsula at the mouth of Grays Harbor the only deep-water port on the Pacific coast north of San Francisco. The community has nearly 6,000 residents. Developed in the 1960's , Ocean Shores is one of Washington's most popular resort and retirement destinations. Ocean Shores' six miles of sandy beaches extend north another fifteen miles, to Moclips. The city has twenty-three miles of interconnecting lakes and canals, plus scenic bay side properties. Ocean Shores public beaches are perfect for beach-combing , clam digging and whale watching. At Damon Point , a long curved beach between Harbor and Ocean leads to Protection Island, a great agate beach, best bird watching around. For years Snowy Owls winter on the island. Ocean Shores year round festivals, along with the many recreational opportunities include our eighteen hole championship golf course, surfing, fishing, clamming in season, camping, kite flying, sandcastle building, horseback riding on the beach, boating, kayaking, bicycle rides, rental mopeds, Wildlife is abundant, and viewing deer, blue heron, seals, pelicans etc., from a few feet away is common.

MEDICAL/DENTAL & OTHER FACIL IT IESSea Mar Community Health Center Ocean Shores specializes in primary care family medicine, including preventive health exams, prenatal care, acute care visits, minor procedures, health education, follow-up care from hospital visits, and referrals. Dental facility is also a part of the Sea Mar Medical Community Clinic.Grays Harbor Hospital is just 30 minutes away.Brookdale Assisted Living Community provides personalized long-term care services.

The Ocean Shores Community Club offers amenities for members, including indoor and outdoor swimming pools, a bay-side restaurant, weight room, gym, yoga, sauna, tennis courts, Bay Shore Clubhouse, play fields, basketball courts, and more. Activities for all age groups are organized throughout the year, including trips to theater events and favorite southwest Washington locations.

POLICE DEPARTMENTThe Ocean Shores Police Department is staffed with a Chief of Police, three Sargents, Code Enforcement / Animal Control Officer, seven Patrol Officers and a Records Clerk. Some of the officers are trained in boating safety and man the Patrol Boat as needed. There is also a volunteer Crime Watch group which patrols the beach and checks on homes and businesses.

MUNICIPAL A IRPORTThe Ocean Shores Airport has a 3,100 foot long runway, tie-downs on the blacktop, and a pilots lounge.

FIRE AND EMERGENCY

The Ocean Shores Fire Department is staffed by twenty career firefighter paramedics or EMT's and twenty paid-volunteer personnel. The station is staffed twenty four hours a day, and runs four ambulances and has a walk-in first aid room.
