The European Symposium on Vascular Biomaterials is once again the
visible representation of the multidisciplinary approach of the research
development in the field of Vascular Biomaterials done by our group
GEPROVAS.
Currently, the amount of knowledge produced in biomedical science and
the rhythm at which it is spread among the scientific community are both
increasing. It is thus important for clinicians to bridge the gap between basic
science and clinical practice, as well as for engineers and researchers to
understand the clinical needs. Moreover, clinicians have to face more and
more sophisticated imaging technologies and devices and the Education
becomes more than ever a key point to better treat their patients.
This year we will discuss two burning topics in our daily practice, the
treatment of thoracoabdominal aorta associated to visceral branches
and once again technologies for lower limb pathologies. You will find during
this 9 th edition an outstanding Faculty providing updates on critical issues
and “Take Home Message” proposed by high level key opinion leaders.
We hope that these goals will be fulfilled at this 9th European Symposium
on Vascular Biomaterials.
We want to thank all the faculty and all the members of the clinical, biological,
and mechanical departments involved in the research and organization of
this meeting.
We also thank our partners: Alsace-Biovalley, the Lucien Dreyfus Foundation,
the Regional Council of Alsace, the Departement du Bas-Rhin and du
Haut-Rhin, and the Eurometropole of Strasbourg for their guidance and
continuous support.

General informationThe ESVB symposium will take place in the very attractive and cultural city of Strasbourg in the Alsace
region (France). There are many famous places to visit downtown including the Cathedral, the Petite
France district (the old town), the European Parliament and Council… The particularity of Alsace and
the region around Strasbourg is its gastronomic and wine-producing culture. Don’t forget to visit then
famous Route des Vins d’Alsace (wine producing road) with its multitude of small villages and wineries.
