Prosecutors Office on Human Trafficking – Danielle Buckley
Followed by Cocktails and Convos
Joan Monk discussed My Sister’s Keeper, AAUW-NYS’ project that grew out of reading Half the Sky. Joan encourages each of us individually and as a branch to get informed, inspired, and involved. Her best quip of the day — “Comfort the troubled and trouble the comfortable.”
Turiya S.A. Raheem Author AAUW-NJ Atlantic County Branch & STAR member has written about her family and the black community’s history in Atlantic City. It was story that HAD to be told. She recounts her experience Growing Up in the Other Atlantic City: Wash’s and the Northside. She was tapped by the creators of HBO’s Boardwalk Empire folks for her historical knowledge

We got to network with each on some wonderful ideas to
increase membership, recharge & bring AAUW-NJ forward to
our own communities on the great stuff AAUW offers

solidarity in diversity support groups in your own
community. A program that listens and brings together the
voices of minority groups that are often unheard.
