Move over hot-pink hair; this season self-expression is all in

the shoes

Fashion trends are cyclical; fresh ones constantly emerge to replace the old and outdated. These trends have ranged from skinny-leg jeans and animal prints, to layering shirts and even sporting certain hair styles. Right now it’s all about the shoes.

Bright colors are exploding from the floors in the hallways as students express their vibrant personalities and fashion sense with their shoes. Comfort is no longer first priority for many students; instead, it’s all about standing out and looking good.

Neon, metallic and patterned tennis shoes are the main trend in this footwear frenzy. Particular brands vary from DC’s, Adidas, Nike’s and Reebok’s and can be seen on both male and female students.

Also, instead of pairing flamboyant shoes with a more muted outfit, many chose to coordinate colors, wear outlandish shirts and accessories such as necklaces, earrings and even belts.

After this frenzy, what’s going to come next?
