Fall is here, the trees are beautiful and harvest is nearly over—very early, but Jeanette still hasn’t gotten a newsletter out. I have promised myself and others to do this since early August and have sat down and started an editorial several times only to have life happen and me not get it done. Just a brief description of happenings since early August. My dad was no longer able to care for my wheelchair bound mother, so mom was admitted to the hospital and then nursing home. One and a half weeks later my dad was admitted to the hospital and diagnosed with cancer, one week after that he was told it was highly treatable with Chemo and started Chemo. Three days later, August 30th, he passed away. I was in St. Louis at Baby Lock Tech and made a quick trip home. The funeral was on September 3rd. About a week later, we moved mom from the Maples in Goshen to Miller’s Merry Manor in Wakarusa. She hadn’t been eating much at all since the first of September. (I believe she was grieving and couldn’t express it with words.) On September 18th momma went Home to be with Jesus and daddy. Her funeral was September 27th. While this has been a sad time of saying goodbye to two of the most important people in my life, it has also been a time of wonderful reminiscing with my three brothers, three sisters, and their families. We have been so blessed to have a Godly mom and dad who taught us to put God first in our lives. They gave us a wonderful work ethic by example and loved us unconditionally. Well, I only spent 1 1/2 days at Baby Lock Tech. Debbie went with me. I did get to see the new 10 needle Enterprise and it is now in the store. If you would like to start your own embroidery business, this machine is for you! We also have the new Baby Lock Symphony. It came in in July and is a spectacular machine featuring advanced pivoting, automatic fabric sensor system, and electronic foot lifter like the Espire. Added to this ultimate sewing/quilting machine are 114 new stitches (460 stitches in all) including the perfect appliqué stitch which is fully adjustable. This machine comes with the circular sewing attachment and much more. Come in and test sew it. This year Janome is celebrating 150 years of manufacturing sewing machines. They are the worlds largest manufacturer of machines. As many of you know, Janome introduced the Horizon MC 7700QCP in April. It has a phenomenal 11” bed space and built in accufeed walking system with many customized stitch features. We have many happy new owners. This might be the perfect machine for you. Janome has also introduced three new lightweight models that are full sized. The 1860—is the 150th year celebration model and has 30 stitches, the 2160 has 60 stitches, the 3160 also has 60 stitches with the added ultimate thread cutter, patented needle plate with angle lines, and hard cover. These machines are great to carry to classes as well as be your every day workhorse. We are continuing our 30th year celebration with specials on the 30th of each month. If you are on the email list you have gotten notice of these each month. If not you may want to sign up for email by going to our website www.jeanettesfabric.com and entering your email address where indicated. If that isn’t a possibility for you, just drop in on the 30th of each month. You won’t be disappointed! Watch for 30th Anniversary “Blowout Sale” in January! Check out our great classes elsewhere in the newsletter. Hope to see you soon!

Just to recount some history for you, Janome America was founded in 1860 in Orange, MA, with the production of the New England Single Thread Hand Sewing Machine . Over the next 20 years, the New Eng-land machine and the Home Shuttle were their two most significant products. In 1882, the company reformed under the name New Home (a combination of the labels New England and Home Shuttle), and it continued to operate under that name for the better part of a century. In 1960, the New Home brand was purchased by the Janome Sewing Machine Company of Tokyo, Japan. This auspicious merger has brought us to the current day, as the Janome Sewing Machine Com-pany - the world's largest manufacturer of home sewing machines. We just learned Oct. 14th, that three Janome machines have been awarded with a 2010 Good Design Award. The Horizon MC7700QCP, 3160QDC, and 2160DC have all received this prestigious honor. The Good Design Awards are a comprehensive program for evaluation and encouragement of design organized by the Japan Industrial Design Promotion Organization (JIDPO). The parent program was established in 1957 with the objective of publicizing “Good design to raise the standard of living and spur industrial development and export trade by enhancing product quality”. This award is a huge honor for Janome and these machines!
