Coat Drive for theHmong CommunityPlease help elementary students in need within the Hmong Community of Minneapolis. Many of them haven’t enough winter clothes to stay warm, but you can help show Jesus’ love by giving them your gently used coats, boots, sweatshirts, or anything warm. You can put your gifts in the box located at the youth kiosk. The junior high students will be presenting the gifts for the children and helping with their after school program on November 12th. Afterwards the youth will get some food at the mall and maybe play some mall games.

Write Your Life Story EventNovember 9th, 9:00 amPlease join us for coffee and cookies as we hear from author Joanne Williams-Kottke, who will be talking about life stories and how you can effectively write about your own. Please bring a pen and pad to take notes. Both men and women are welcome! Sign up at the Welcome Center by Nov. 7th. The event will be located in the Ministry Center.

Volunteers NeededNovember 4th & 5thPraise FM is hosting their 2010 Fall Sharathon Fund-raiser and they need your help! Volunteers are needed to answer phones, type information (very user friendly), take a moment to pray with, encourage, or bless the person calling. 2 hour shifts are available (flexible).To volunteer please call Praise FM 1-800-658-2229

Adopt a SoldierPlease join in helping to support our troops while they selflessly protect and serve us by adopting a soldier. Our goal is to show love and encouragement for these soldiers by sending them care packages. All you need to do is stuff a box and send a thank you or letter of encouragement to your soldier. Boxes,

list of ideas, a soldier’s name and address are provided. If you and your soldier want to continue communicating that is great! This is a great project for the entire family. If you know someone serving in the Armed Forces that you would like to see recognized please contact the Church Office so we can honor them in the future as well. Sign up by the welcome center!

God strengthens those whose hearts are fully reliant on Him.

1. In times of unrest ______________________________

“O Lord, no one but you can help the powerless

against the mighty. Help us, O Lord our God, for

we rely on you. It is in your name that we have come

against the vast army. O Lord, you are our God; do

not let mere men prevail against you.”

~ 2 Chron. 14:11 ~

2. There is no rest _________________________________

“Because you relied on the king of Aram and not the

Lord your God, the army of the king of Aram has

escaped from your hand.”

~ 2 Chron. 16:7 ~

Operation Christmas ChildIt’s that time of year when you can bless a child in need by packing an empty shoe box with toys and gifts. The labels that you will need for the box can be picked up at the display table or the Welcome Center located near the entry doors on the south side of the church. Once your shoebox is filled and ready to ship, you can leave it at the display table. The deadline for dropping off boxes at the church is November 16th at 4:00 pm. For more information about the program or for help on what to pack, visit the website at www.samaritanspurse.org.

Getting through the HolidaysNovember 18th, 7:00 pm The 20th Annual “Getting through the Holidays” event will meet at the First Lutheran Church. This event provides insight, strategies, tips and suggestions to help ease the anxiety that the holidays can bring. Parking is available from Cedar Street.Located at 822 Douglas St. Alexandria, MN 56308

Haiti Mission ExperienceNovember 14th, 6:30 pm Come see and hear the amazing experiences of those who were ministering in Haiti last week. (This time of sharing will replace the normally scheduled Impact group.)
