Aerie Meetings: 2nd & 4th Mondays 8 pm.Auxiliary Meetings: 1st & 3rd Mondays at 8:00pmTrustee meetings: Mondays at 7pmInterviews & Initiations: As needed

From Your WorthY PresidentNeil Hosea

The Grand Aerie has sent in an agent William (Bill) Stotko to review our Aerie operation. Billhasfullauthoritytomakechangeswhicharedesignedtohelpourlodge,bothfinan-cially and procedurally. He has already implemented some changes. Any and all changes will be posted in the entrance of our lodge.

October is Cancer Charity month. The committee has many events planned. Please support this worthy cause. Nanette Klingforth and Terri Aced are co-chairing this committee and they will be looking for donations.

On Saturday, October 29th the annual kids Halloween party will be held from 12:00 noon to 2:00pm. Bring your little ghosts and goblins dressed in costumes to this family party. That evening, a Halloween costume contest and party will be conducted. To be eligible to participate you need to sign in and follow the rules (see paragraph on costume rules). Judging will be between 7:00pm and 9:00pm. Our members have been very creative in costume designs. This and the atmosphere makes the Halloween party very enjoyable.

Friday, November 4th and Saturday, November 5th, Mid-Winter Convention will be held in Coos Bay, Oregon. Our youth will compete for a scholarship. All the contestants are very talented and deserving. I am glad that I do not have to judge.

On Thursday, November 10th, a karaoke contest will be conducted between 6:30pm and 10:00pm. See Tom Arbuckle for the rules and to sign up.

Saturday, November 12th, Roaring 20s’ activities are scheduled. On Saturday, November 19th at 6:30pm a Veteran’s Day Tribute will be presented. We will honor our

servicemen and women who have or currently serving in the Armed Forces. Mark your calendar as you will not want to miss this special event. Barbara Adler will host this program.

On Thursday, November 25th between 2:00pm and 4:00pm the lodge will be serving our traditional Thanksgiving dinner. For additional information, see the paragraph on the dinner.

From Your manager and secretarYGary TurNer

Hello Brothers and Sister,Well, let’s hope that things have smoothed out by now, changes made and accepted, lock the devil in

theclosetandlet’sgetontohavingfun.Don’tletpeoplemakeyouthinkthatthisisthefirstlodgethatGrand has ever gone into. We are still here, the doors are open and will continue to open.

We had a lot of old-time members drop. If you run into them attempt to guide them back this way, we sure hate to seem them leave. We need to continue to grow; sign a new member this year. If everyone signed one new or re-enrolled member per year attrition would never catch up and we would be member strong and happy.

October is cancer month—events are planned and fun is to be had, all you have to do is be here.Saturday, October 29th is the annual kids’ Halloween costume party. I’ve been told that Traci is going

to host this party from 12noon to 2pm. Traci does a wonderful job with the kids’ programs.Adults (or so you call yourselves), put on those Halloween costumes! The party starts Saturday, Octo-

ber 29th at 6pm and judging starts at 7pm to 9pm. This will give the judges time to look everyone over as you mingle with your friends and goblins. The prizes will be awarded at 9pm—1st place $100.00, 2nd place $50.00, 3rd place $25.00 and a few drink and/or meal tickets depending on the competition. You must sign in as a contestant by 7pm to be eligible for the prizes, no exceptions

Our President indicated in his article that the mid-winter convention was in Coos Bay, my records show Albany—bet on Albany.

Tom Arbuckle is hosting a quarterly karaoke contest on Thursday, November 10. Check with Tom for info or, better yet, show up on Thursdays.

Barb Adler will be a busy lady this month; hosting a Roaring 20’s party on Saturday, November 12th at 6pm and also hosting our annual Veteran’s Day program on Saturday, November 19th at 6:30pm sharp.

Friday, November 25th, 2pm to 4pm, the lodge will be serving our annual Thanksgiving Dinner—$10.00 for adults, $6.00 for those under 13 years. Tickets must be purchased in advance, the deadline is Sunday, November 20th at closing. Tickets are at the bar.

New year tickets will go on sale Thursday, December 1st. Larry & Teri will be the band this year. More info to follow.
