Thanks to RGF Environmental IAQ-Indoor Air Quality forinviting PBACCA to have their monthly meeting aboardENVISION RGF Mega Yacht.
With the New Year in progress, we as AC contractorsmust keep a positive outlook in spite of all the uncertaintyin our economy.
It is time to get our spring tune-ups in full swing. Wealso have our maintenance contracts to complete. Theweather has been warm so that is a good sign that it isgoing to be a hot summer.
With spring almost here I have developed my “Make Sure” List.
• Make sure your equipment is working properly. • Make sure to check your inventory so that you don’t have excessive amount of
equipment and supplies sitting on your shelves, or in your warehouses. Excessinventory is money sitting on your shelves and in your warehouses.
• Make sure that your trucks are maintained properly. Like anything else, propermaintenance can save you thousand of dollars later on.
• Make sure your drivers check the oil and water in their vehicles van regularly.• Make sure to check tire pressure to avoid excessive wear and tear on tires.• Make sure your signal lights are working properly.• Make sure headlights and tail lights are working properly and aren’t broken. Law
enforcement officers are very strict on these things, and hand out summons forthese infractions.
• Make sure to remind your drivers and helpers to fasten their seat belts. Byfastening that little belt you can save your life and the life of others, reduceinjuries, and avoid law suites. Some people say that seat belts are too restrictingfor them. I have witnessed accidents where the drivers didn’t have their seat beltsfastened and they were injured severely. Their passengers were thrown from thevehicle and in some cases resulted in death.
So remember that there are a lot of little things that we can do to help our survival.
Don’t forget our PBACCA Annual Air Show March 3, 2009.See you there! Sincerely,Tom Brooks, President

The Guardian Air PHI CELLby RGF Advanced Oxidation Systems isdesigned to help eliminatesick building syndromerisks by reducing odors, air pollutants, and coldand virus causing germsthrough a patent pending Photohydroionization® (PHI)process. The PHI Cells are easily mounted into existingair conditioning and heating systems. When the HVACsystem is in operation, the PHI Cell uses an AdvancedOxidation Process to reduce the airborne contaminants.
Why use PhotoHydroIonization?Germicidal UV light rays have been used for
decades by the medical industry as a method fordestroying microorganisms (germs, viruses, bacteria).UV light is dependable and can be easily installed inHVAC ducts or a plenum. Germicidal UV light iseffective in reducing airborne microorganisms that passthrough the light rays. However, germicidal UV lighthas little to no effect on gases, vapors or odors.
Advanced Oxidation, on the other hand, is veryeffective on gases, vapors and odors and UV light in thepresence of the PHI catalyst creates the AdvancedOxidation reaction. This process in combination withthe catalytic target surface of the cell produces not onlyan atmosphere in which germicidal light can kill micro-organisms. It also produces, super oxide ions andhydro-peroxides. These products of advanced oxidationreactions further attack the microorganisms as well assignificantly reduce odors andVOC’s. With the RGF PHICELL, most gases and odors areabated while micro-organismscan be reduced by as much as 90%.
PHI Technology vs. UV alone
The combination of UVlight enhanced by a hydratedquad-metallic compound target
develops an advanced oxidation reaction. This processproduces hydro-peroxides, super oxide ions andhydroxides. By engineering the proper UV lightwavelength, in combination with a triple function, nomaintenance unit, The PHI Cell provides safe hydro-peroxides, super oxide ions and hydroxides to purifythe air. With the RGF HVAC-PHI Cell AdvancedOxidation System, micro-organisms can be reduced byover 97%. Gases, VOCs and odors can also be reducedsignificantly. Advanced oxidizers will be carriedthroughout the ducts and rooms for a continuouspurification process and a quick kill of newlyintroduced odors or microbials. This is far superior toUV alone. In addition the PHI Cell has a protectivepoly coating to prevent mercury contamination in caseof lamp breakage. UV-C - Germicidal Lamps These arerapidly becoming very popular as an easy fix for the airconditioner coil mold problem. This is one of the mostprevalent cause of the mildew smell you get when youenter an air-conditioned sick building. UV-C (254nm)lamps are basically similar to sun lamps and aretypically only effective on microbials that pass bywithin a few inches of the lamp or areas where the lightis shining directly on for extended periods of time, suchas the air conditioner coil.
The RGF PHI AdvantageWhile UV systems are designed to kill mold on the
HVAC coil, the PHI Cell does this, plus it addsadvanced oxidants throughout the room to killmicrobials at the source.

SMALL ACCIDENTTo my darling husband,
Before you return from your trip I just want to letyou know about the small accident I had with thepickup truck when I turned into the driveway.Fortunately not too bad and I really didn't get hurt, soplease don't worry too much about me.
I was coming home from Wal-Mart, and when Iturned into the driveway I accidentally pushed downon the accelerator instead of the brake. The garagedoor is slightly bent but the pickup fortunately cameto a halt when it bumped into your car.
I am really sorry, but I know with your kind-hearted personality you will forgive me. You knowhow much I love you and care for you my sweetheart.I am enclosing apicture for you.
I cannot wait tohold you in myarms again.
Your loving wife.XXX
