Thanks to our executive director, Pam Ripple forthe great job that she is doing. I look forward to working with her this year.

To all of our members and sponsors we thank you, because without youthis organization would not exist. Last year was a slow year for somecompanies in sales and services. Hopefully in 2009 the economy will bebetter and businesses will thrive.

Wow, I am not one to be chilled by "ghost stories" but Iresearched this one and it is actually true...and very frightening!!

A TRUE IRISH GHOST STORYThis story happened a while ago in Dublin, and even though it sounds

like an Alfred Hitchcock tale, it's true.It was a very dark and stormy night that found John Bradford, a Dublin

University student, hitchhiking on the side of the road .He stood in the thrashing rain and wind for almost an hour without

seeing a single car go by. The storm was so strong it was difficult to seemore than a few feet ahead of him.

Just as all seemed hopeless, a car appeared out of the rain, came slowlydown the road towards him and stopped. John, soaked to the skin andfreezing, was so desperate for shelter that he flung open the door andjumped into the back seat of the car, slamming the door behind him.

Only then did he realize there was nobody behind the wheel and theengine wasn't on!!

Before he could react the car slowly started moving again. John lookedat the road ahead and saw a sharp curve approaching. Scared, he started topray, begging for his life.

Then, just before the car hit the curve, a hand appeared through thewindow and turned the wheel. John, paralyzed with terror, watched as thehand repeatedly came through the window to guide the car, but nevertouched or harmed him.

Shortly thereafter John saw the lights of a pub appear down the road,so, gathering strength; he jumped out of the car and ran to it without everlooking back!

Wet and out of breath, he rushed inside and started telling everybodyabout the horrible experience he had just had.

A silence enveloped the pub when everybody realized he was cryingand certainly wasn't drunk.

Just then, the pub door opened, and two men walked in from thestormy night. All eyes turned to them as they stood there, like John, soakedand out of breath.

Looking around, and seeing John's wet figure huddled, sobbing at thebar, one man raised his arm and pointed straight at John Bradford, turned tothe other and said: ...'Look Paddy...there's that freakin' idiot that got in thecar while we were pushin' it.' !!
