Helping Your PastorAlthough God placed pastors in the Church, no pastor can carry out God’s plan alone. They need the help of loyal people who are supportive of their vision, willing to work in unity, and committed to the local church. It takes everyone working together to get the job done!

I like to think of God’s plan for how the local church functions as a jigsaw puzzle. All the pieces fit together to create a picture that cannot be seen in the individual pieces alone.

I once worked on a 3,000-piece jigsaw puzzle. I started by putting together the outside border and fit as many pieces as I could into their proper places. Eventually, enough of the puzzle pieces were filled in, so it was easy to recognize what the picture was supposed to be. But there were still several gaps from the pieces I hadn’t connected yet. I had parts of puzzle pieces joined together, ready to fill an empty space. But I couldn’t fit them in until the other pieces were in place!

That’s a good illustration of how some believers are in relation to the local church. They are like missing pieces of a puzzle. They aren’t “hooked up” to a local body of believers, and they aren’t contributing to the plan of God for that church. Those Christians are outside the framework that God intended.

Every piece of the puzzle is important. If one piece is missing, the picture will not be complete! In the same way, your presence, tal-ents, and service are needed to complete the overall picture of a local body.

You are a vital part of God’s plan for the local church, and there is a place that only you can fill. I don’t know what your place is, that’s between you and God. But the important thing is to find your proper position in the “puzzle,” get in it, and serve God faithfully in that capacity.

October is Pastor Appreciation Month in the United States. Be sure to celebrate, thank, and express appreciation for your pastor.

WE ALL FLOAT on the sea of life. Our ships rise and fall with circumstances, and complications batter us. In these uncertain days, we never know from one minute to the next what news we will hear. Without question, we need an anchor that keeps us steady!

Some people rely on education. For others, it’s health or wealth. These are good areas to develop, but it’s not enough to anchor our souls. None of it can bring salvation or free us from the bondage of Satan. True stability comes when we set our anchor in Christ.

HEBREWS 6:18–20 (NLT)18 So God has given both his promise and his oath. These two things are unchangeable because it is impossible for God to lie. Therefore, we who have fled to him for refuge can have great confidence as we hold to the hope that lies before us.19 This hope is a strong and trustworthy anchor for our souls. It leads us through the curtain into God’s inner sanctuary.20 Jesus has already gone in there for us. He has become our eternal High Priest in the order of Melchizedek.

If anything is strong in our lives, it should be our anchor! Our lives and safety depend on it. When the winds of change and ad-versity are howling, we need something to hold on to—and not just any doctrine that floats around. God’s Word is a rock that will not be washed away by the storm!

When we are overworked and exhausted, the anchor of hope gives us fresh energy. When we are discouraged, hope lifts our

spirits. When we are tempted to quit, the anchor of hope keeps us going. When we lose our way and confusion blurs our destination, hope removes panic. When fear grips us and says it’s all over, hope reminds us that we are still anchored to the rock.

Unseen Strength in the Storm

When people face trials on the sea of life, many start strong and anchor themselves, but some turn loose from God. They feel the turbulence and ask, “Where is God in this? Nothing is happening!” They don’t realize the anchor has an unseen grip. Below the surface, it is keeping them safe.

It is only when the anchor is not seen that it is doing something. We may think we’re fine because we have an anchor. But if it’s in the boat, it’s not doing us any good! It has to be cast into the water. Although we can’t see it, we trust it to work. That is faith!

Faith and hope work together. “Now faith is a well-grounded assurance of that for which we hope, and a conviction of the real-ity of the things which we do not see” (Heb. 11:1 WEYMOUTH). Keeping our souls anchored will keep us strong. Anchors won’t keep us from having trouble, but we can “ride out the storm” with-out losing ground.

HEBREWS 4:14 (NIV)14 Therefore, since we have a great high priest who has ascended into heaven, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold firmly to the faith we profess.

When the world appears “awash” around us, it’s not the time to aban-don ship! Instead, we must hold on tightly to Jesus. God is with us and promised to never leave us, forsake us, or fail us (Heb. 13:5). He is work-ing, even if we can’t see it.

Secure the AnchorWe may need to check the anchor and make sure that the rope is tight!

Are we doing what God said to do? For example, the Bible says, “not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together” (Heb. 10:25). Are we together at church? If not, there’s some slack in the line. Are we tithing? More slack! Are we reading the Bible? Praying? The rope gets a little slacker. Pretty soon, we are completely loose of the anchor.

If that happens, rush back quickly! Grab hold and dig in tightly because the enemy has come to steal, kill, and destroy (John 10:10). The best way he can destroy someone is to get them to turn loose of their anchor.

The Anchor Will HoldROMANS 15:4 (NLT)4 Such things were written in the Scriptures long ago to teach us. And the Scriptures give us hope and encouragement as we wait patiently for God’s promises to be fulfilled.

When we struggle, our anchor preserves us until the answer comes. Wait patiently for the Word of God to work! We might want it now, but faith is the evidence of things not seen.

Hope reminds us that we are still anchored. Don’t pull up the anchor to see if it’s working! If the rope is tight, it’s evidence that the anchor is holding. We are still hooked to the Rock of our salvation, and He will bring us through.

Anchor Your Soul in SafetyFinding anchor in life’s rough waters may be a challenge, but God’s Word is solid and sure. You can trust Him to bring you through the storm. God has not left you, and He never will!

SPECIAL OFFER

Why Do You Need an Anchor?1) To keep your life from being shipwrecked. Hope in Christ protects you in the same way an anchor keeps a boat safe. It will not keep it from rocking with the waves, but it holds it in the midst of the tempest. Likewise, the anchor of your soul will not stop the storm but will keep you strong and secure in the midst of tribulation.

2) To keep you from drifting. Boats without an anchor drift into disaster or become grounded on reefs and rocks. It can seem more comfortable just to go with the flow . . . until you hear the bottom of the boat being ripped apart! Comfort and pleasure are only good for a season if you are not hooked into the anchor of Jesus.

3) To preserve your progress. Sand might not hold a boat, and the anchor can drag. But when an anchor is cast into good ground, it digs in. The heavier the pull, the more the an-chor digs deep and holds! Temptations and trials can cause you to dig even deeper into God and keep you from losing what headway you have already made.

4) To keep you constant. If you throw out the anchor but don’t secure the line, it won’t do you any good. Not obeying God’s Word is like turning loose of the rope. You stay on track if you stay connected! Even when life hurts and dreams seem obliterated, the anchor still holds you firm and tells you that the dream is still there.

ON FRIDAY, JULY 17, 2020, 251 gradu-ates arrayed in red and black caps and gowns marched triumphantly into the Rhema Bible Church Auditorium, bringing a celebratory end to an unusual year.

RBTC President Kenneth W. Hagin branded Rhema’s 46th graduating class “The Class of Remembrance” because many firsts marked them. In addition to being the first class to graduate in the RBC Auditorium, it was also the first time Rhema’s commence-ment was held in July.

In another first, the coronavirus pan-demic required classes to be held online for the entire third and fourth terms. The Class of 2020 completed their training virtually! And the ceremony was livestreamed for the first time on the RhemaUSA YouTube channel.

The night represented a culmination of sacrifice, faithfulness, effort, and determi-nation. The graduates now join over 88,000 alumni in faithfully carrying the light they have received to the world.

Tad Gregurich, Dean of Rhema Bible Training College, exhorted, “Tomorrow, they will go forth to reach a generation. Not in their strength or wisdom but in the might and power of the Holy Spirit, relying on the Greater One Who indwells them. Get ready world; the unstoppable ones are coming!” The moniker was an encouraging reminder of the graduates’ perseverance during a time of adversity and uncertainty. “If this [pan-demic] didn’t stop you, there’s nothing left to stop you,” concluded Dean Tad to a rous-ing round of applause.

Rev. Bracken Christian—pastor of Harvest Church in Lubbock, Texas, and a 1992 RBTC graduate—delivered the com-mencement address. Rev. Christian chal-lenged the graduates to walk on the waters of the supernatural.

Step Out on the WaterIn preparing this message, I asked the Lord, “What does this

graduating class need to hear from your Spirit?” Here’s what kept coming up inside me, “Come on and walk on the water with Me. You will not fail.”

DO YOU HAVE THE COURAGE TO STEP OUT?You are going prepared, and you have the spirit of faith on the

inside. You have a call and a connection with the Holy Spirit you cannot deny. You have something that the world can’t get away from—His Name is Jesus.

Can God use you? Yes, He can! The nations are hungering for the simple truth of Jesus Christ. THE HARVEST IS MASSIVE, AND THE BODY OF CHRIST NEEDS TRAINED LABORERS—AND THAT IS ALL OF YOU!

Ephesians 2:10 (AMPC) says, “For we are God’s [own] handiwork (His workmanship), recreated in Christ Jesus, [born anew] that we may do those good works which God predestined (planned beforehand) for us [taking paths which He prepared ahead of time], that we should walk in them [living the good life which He prearranged and made ready for us to live].”

Another word for handiwork is “masterpiece.” The Greek word for master-piece is poiema and means “poem.” You are God’s poem. Every poem contains a message. God saved you and wants you to follow His plan—a plan that makes your life meaningful. But it will require faith to walk on the water of your des-tiny. You may not understand every step but just follow God.

Knowing the Holy Spirit and yielding to Him is a beautiful thing. When you obey God and go where He leads you, you don’t know yet about the connec-tions and provision He has prepared for you down the road. One day you will find yourself in that place and wonder how it happened. It all comes together as you walk by faith.

The Holy Spirit not only wants to lead you in ministry, He is also interested in everything you do. CULTIVATE A RELATIONSHIP WITH HIM WHERE HE CAN INITI-ATE THINGS IN YOUR LIFE. He will tell you things you would have never thought to ask for.

Who’s ready to step out on the waters of God’s best? Walk out your miracle. Faith chooses to trust. You may not understand everything, but the Lord will make you stand.

I AM CONVINCED that Winter Bible Seminar is a specific time to get instruction from God and bring down strongholds that would endeavor to stop those plans. One year, it seemed as though all hell broke loose leading up to those meetings! I knew the enemy was flooding in.

When the devil knows that believers are about to break his power, he comes to distract and break concentration. But Isaiah 59:19 (NKJV) says, “When the enemy comes in like a flood, the Spirit of the Lord will lift up a standard against him.”

The Spirit of God came upon me, I grabbed my husband, and we took authority over what was happening! God spoke to us: “GATHER UP THE TROOPS BECAUSE THIS IS WAR!” We rallied our prayer groups on the Rhema campus, and the Holy Spirit began to show us the people who were coming to WBS that year!

The Lord said, “As you all come together in one place and one accord, every stronghold that has been against everybody represented shall be broken in the Name of Jesus!”

Take Your AuthorityGod wants us to take authority over anything that comes

against us. Yet, we roll over, play dead, and whine, “Why did this happen to me? I serve faithfully! I read my Bible! I give my tithes!” We need to do all those things. But to break the strong-holds of the devil, we have to use the Name of Jesus. It has power against every other name!

MATTHEW 18:18–2018 Verily I say unto you, Whatsoever ye shall bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever ye shall loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.19 Again I say unto you, That if two of you shall agree on earth as touching any thing that they shall ask, it shall be done for

them of my Father which is in heaven.20 For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them.

This is more than a promise from the Lord; it is a plan for the Church. God wants us to be in one accord because there is much power in unified prayer.

Ask in AgreementI like how The Message Bible translates these verses, “Take

this most seriously: A yes on earth is yes in heaven; a no on earth is no in heaven. What you say to one another is eternal. I mean this. When two of you get together on anything at all on earth and make a prayer of it, my Father in heaven goes into action. And when two or three of you are together because of me, you can be sure that I’ll be there.”

DO WE REALIZE HOW MUCH POWER THE PRAYER OF AGREEMENT HAS? It brings a response from our Heavenly Father! When we come into unity and harmony, nothing will be impossible for us!

That’s why the enemy stirs up strife. Satan knows when Christians are of one mind and one accord, anything is possible. That’s when “suddenlies” happen!

ACTS 2:1–41 And when the day of Pentecost was fully come, they were all with one accord in one place.2 And suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting.3 And there appeared unto them cloven tongues like as of fire, and it sat upon each of them.4 And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.

Heaven is waiting for earth to ask in agreement. WHEN WE AGREE IN PRAYER, IT MOVES US INTO AN ENTIRELY DIFFERENT REALM OF POWER!

Praying together moves us from addition to multiplication. “Five of you shall chase an hundred, and an hundred of you shall put ten thousand to flight,” (Lev. 26:8). Deuteronomy 32:30 says that one person can chase a thousand, and two people can put ten thousand to flight!

This Is How We FightEphesians 6:12 (AMPC) says, “For we are not wrestling with flesh

and blood [contending only with physical opponents], but against the despotisms, against the powers, against [the master spirits who are] the world rulers of this present darkness, against the spirit forces of wickedness in the heavenly (supernatural) sphere.”

In these days, we must keep on all of our armor (Eph. 6:10–18). Evil spirits look for people they can devour (1 Peter 5:8). Many foul spirits are trying to operate in our coun-try and the nations of the world, so we must take our place! We must use our authority—

and having done all to stand, we are going to stand (Eph. 6:13).WHEN WE AGREE IN PRAYER, THINGS HAPPEN! Strongholds are bro-

ken and continue to be broken as we come together in unity. Yes, we wrestle against principalities, but the Name of Jesus is greater than any other name in Heaven or earth. God is greater than any power of darkness.

Stand on the Word of God and agree with one another. As we join in agreement in one place and one accord, our united prayer will break every stronghold in Jesus’ Name!

Reenergize With GodIf you are beat down by circumstances, gripped by fear, or beset by drudgery, God wants to reinject you with spiritual, mental, and physical refreshment!

Symphony of PrayerThe Greek word for “agree” is related to our English word “symphony.” How beautiful it is when instruments come together! They play the same song but with different notes. So it is in prayer. We pray toward the same purpose, but with distinct parts and ways—all coming into harmony. According to Matthew 18:18–20, in this place of har-mony, anything we ask will be done for us!

WHEN THE LORD called me to Mombasa, He said the harvest was white and ready. I thought, “Lord, wait a min-ute! That is an Islamic area. How will I lead Muslims to You?” I felt within me, “It can be done. Do it!” And the Lord revealed to me:

1) WALK IN LOVE.2) DEMONSTRATE THE

POWER OF GOD.Love never fails, and you

cannot debate a demonstra-tion! When God confirms His Word by healing the sick and delivering those who are bound and oppressed, there is no choice but to accept that Jesus is Lord!

My wife and I believed God and loved the people. One by one, they came to the Lord.

Witches and SorceryEarly one morning, a witch came to me. “Pastor Meni, I have

been sent by my colleagues. Since you and your church started praying, our witchcraft business is not working. They want you to stop the prayers.”

“We will not stop,” I replied. “Jesus loves you, and He wants to save you.”

The man walked away, and I continued to pray. Most of the witches relocated because their sorcery no longer worked. Finally, only one was left—their leader.

He fell sick and was taken to the mosque for prayer. Nothing happened. Somebody said to the chief, “Why don’t you call Pastor Meni and the church to pray for you? Try that before you die.”

His friends asked me to come and pray. I went to the chief’s house with church leaders. He was dying. “Do you allow us to pray for you in the Name of Jesus?” we asked.

“Pray the way you know how,” he said.We laid hands on him and commanded sickness to leave his

body. Demons manifested. They had no choice but to go, and he was set free. He stood and began to jump, repeatedly exclaiming in Swahili, “Jesus is Lord!”

THE COMMUNITY CAME TO SEE WHAT WAS HAPPENING. “I’M FREE! I’M FREE! JESUS HAS DONE FOR ME WHAT MUHAMMAD COULD NOT DO!” He gave up witchcraft, made Jesus the Lord of his life, and eventually started a home Bible church.

The following day, we held a fellowship at his house. While we were there, some of his witchcraft clients came seeking help. He brought them to me. “I cannot help you,” he said, “but the Jesus of this man can!”

10 THE WORD OF FAITH // October/November ‘20

WILLIAM MENI

Page 11: OCTOBER/NOVEMBER 2020 PUBLISHED BY KENNETH HAGIN …€¦ · Mica Marcal Natalie Tysse PROJECT MANAGERS Elizabeth Johnson Ronda Swords Kris Taylor Karianne White SUBSCRIPTIONS THE

I introduced them to Jesus. “He loves you! Jesus can do any-thing if you believe in Him.” They also believed and were helped. They left glorifying the Name of the Lord because He is good.

Jesus Is Too Good to ResistPeople cannot resist Jesus without help. Satan, the god of this

world, has blinded them (2 Cor. 4:4). Thank God we have the Gos-pel of Light! When we take it to them, we help remove everything that hinders them from seeing Jesus as He is: the love of God.

While Jesus was busy doing the mission of His calling, He saw multitudes of people and was moved with compassion because they were worried, tired, and scattered (Matt. 9:36). WE SHOULD FEEL THE SAME WAY ABOUT THOSE WHO DO NOT KNOW THE LORD. We should be moved by the love of God!

People who are separated from God are tired of sin and sick-ness. They are tired of oppression and the life they are living. Jesus had compassion on them and said, “Truly, the harvest is plentiful” (Matt. 9:37).

The harvest is not a problem! But Jesus saw a need: “I cannot do the work alone. I need laborers, people like you, to help Me” (v. 37). Then He gave a prayer request: “Pray that the Lord of the harvest would send laborers” (v. 38).

Praying is good, but something else must be done. Jesus then gave the disciples His power and sent them on assignment (Matt. 10:1–8). God has chosen to work with mankind!

Love People One by OneJesus could not accomplish His mission alone, and neither will

we. This will take a network! I need you, and you need me. There are people called to be great evangelists who can preach to multi-tudes. It’s good to preach to multitudes! It’s also good to preach to one person. Jesus did both.

Remember when Jesus sat with a Samaritan woman alone? He spent time with her. She did not see who He was at first. But when the veil was removed and Jesus revealed Himself as the Messiah, she believed. She went to her city and preached, “Come and see!” Samaria came to Jesus. Many came because He spent time with an individual.

It’s not about crowds. YOU CAN TALK TO ONE PERSON, AND THAT PERSON CAN CHANGE A REGION OR TRANSFORM A VILLAGE. Ana-nias was a disciple we don’t hear much about. He was the one that prayed for Saul of Tarsus, who was later called Paul (Acts 9:10–18). Everything the Apostle Paul did is because of one man who obeyed!

Go Ye!As believers, we know a lot. We read what the Bible says, but

we need to move to another level of doing. We can confess all day long, but unless we act on God’s Word, we won’t see the power.

The disciples went everywhere and preached the Word (Mark 16:20). They did something! Because of their obedience, God worked with them. When the Word is acted upon, confirmations, manifestations, and great things happen!

Miracles are not just in the hearing. Miracles are in the doing! Unless we start doing what we hear, we will remain the same. Remember the Great Commission is “go ye,” not “sit ye” (Mark 16:15)!

The Lord is with you. Whatever He puts in your heart, do it! Step out and be a doer of the Word.

It Can Be Done. Do It!Be open to the leading of the Spirit of God and work with Him.

It’s networking. For those called to preach to multitudes, go do that. Those who are called to the helps ministry, go help others. Those called to do business and support missions, do that! You can “go” by supporting those who are going.

You can also obey the Great Commission by helping one per-son come to Rhema. HELP THEM KNOW WHO THEY ARE AND HOW THEY CAN DO THE WORK OF GOD. You can support missionaries. You can speak to that one person at your workplace who may be called to transform multitudes.

TWO THINGS PEOPLE strive for above everything else are life and health. In Proverbs 4:20–22, God gave us a four-step recipe for attaining both of these blessings.

Jesus is the Head of the Church, and we in the Church are His body (Eph. 5:23, 30). Authority is conferred not only upon the Head but also upon the body. The same authority the Head has, the body has. Our physical head cannot do a thing without our body. In fact, our head can’t do anything except through our body.

PROVERBS 4:20–2220 My son, attend to my words; incline thine ear unto my sayings.21 Let them not depart from thine eyes; keep them in the midst of thine heart.22 For they are life unto those that find them, and health to all their flesh.

Step One: Attend to God’s WordThe first step in God’s recipe for life and health is to pay atten-

tion to His words (v. 20). We can only find life and health through His Word. The Bible says Jesus is the living Word. The written Word is given to reveal the living Word to us. And Jesus came so we might have life abundantly (John 10:10).

The Bible instructs us to keep our minds on God’s Word. That doesn’t only mean the words Jesus spoke in the Gospels. The en-tire New Testament—particularly the epistles—unveils Jesus to us. It is crucial to give our attention to all of God’s Word.

The epistles show what Jesus obtained for us in His death, burial, and resurrection. For instance, Second Corinthians 5:21 declares that we were made righteous in Christ. And in Galatians 3:13–14, we learn that Jesus redeemed us from the curse of the law and made us partakers of the blessings of the Abrahamic covenant.

These are just a few of the many references in the epistles that explain what belongs to us through Christ. When we give our undivided attention to these truths, they will bring life and health to every area of our lives.

Step Two: Incline Your EarThe second step in God’s recipe is to listen to the Lord’s say-

ings (v. 20). To walk in the fullness of life and health, we must give God’s Word our undivided attention and not allow ourselves to think about anything that contradicts it. We must open our ears to what our Heavenly Father is saying and close them to every-thing else. Believing and accepting the Word causes it to work for us. No one will ever know life, freedom, and truth without giving their full attention to understanding the scriptures.

Knowing God’s Word has a twofold application because Jesus is the living Word. We begin to know Jesus personally by

W E C A N O N LY F I N D L I F E A N D H E A LT H through His Word.

accepting Him as our Savior. But we will never know Jesus—the living Word—in His fullness without knowing the written Word of God.

Step Three: Keep Your Eyes on the Word

The third step is found in verse 21. It says, “Let [My words] not depart from thine eyes.” We are to look at, as well as listen to, God’s Word. The Bible tells us to keep our vision fixed on Jesus (Heb. 12:2). How? By continu-ally feeding on the written Word. As we do that, Jesus, the living Word, will become more real to us.

We should also keep our eyes fixed on Jesus as it pertains to the healing of our bod-ies. I learned the importance of doing this one night when I was troubled with alarming phys-ical symptoms. I began to pray and claim the healing promises, but the symptoms persisted and grew worse.

I continued to praise God for my healing and finally managed to fall asleep. But I woke up again. Then in my spirit I heard the words, “Consider not.” I began to rejoice because I knew the passage of scripture in Romans 4 the Holy Spirit was referring to. I rejoiced in the promises of God instead of paying attention to my body.

I began to consider Jesus and the Word that says, “Himself took our infirmities and bare our sicknesses” (Matt. 8:17). As I meditated on that truth, I fell into a deep sleep. I rested well and awoke the next morning healed.

The Bible lets us know what we should and should not take into account. We are to “consider not” physical symptoms and contradictory circumstances (Rom. 4:19–21). We are to consider Jesus and what God’s Word says is ours through Him (Heb. 3:1).

Step Four: Store God’s Words in Your Heart

In the fourth step, God tells us to “Keep [His words] in the midst of thine heart” (v. 21). Walking in life and health always starts in our heart, or spirit.

As Christians believe the Word and keep it in their hearts, it causes the life of God to spring up in them. The more they feed on scripture, the more they can walk in the truth that is in them.

When I received the revelation of Mark 11:23–24 when I was sick and dying and standing in faith for healing, I knew in my innermost being that I was healed. I praised God for my healing even when my heart still didn’t beat right, and my body was still partially paralyzed. I kept the Word in my heart.

It’s a mistake to look at our bodies to see if we are healed. The Bible says, “God is a Spirit” (John 4:24), and He heals us through our spirit. Healing first begins in our heart and then is manifested in our body. Jesus said, “The words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life” (John 6:63). The Word is a God-breathed and God-inspired message. Let’s always keep His words in our heart.

God is interested in our physical and spiritual health. If we want to enjoy life and health, we must continually listen to God’s Word. So let’s give it our undivided attention, fix our vision on Jesus—the Living Word—and keep God’s Word in our heart. Why are these steps so important? Because God’s words “are life to everyone who finds them and health to all their whole body”!_____________[Editor’s Note: This article was adapted from the book Classic Sermons by Kenneth E. Hagin.]

In Summary1. Attend to God’s Word. Put it first. Give it your undi-vided attention. That means, cut other things out—put the Word in.

2. Incline your ear to God’s sayings. Listen to what your Heavenly Father has to say about sickness and healing. Open your ears to His Word. Faith comes by hearing the Word of God (Rom. 10:17).

3. Don’t let the Word depart from your sight. Don’t look at the symptoms or anything else. Only look at the Word!

4. Keep God’s words in the center of your heart. Continually feed on scripture to get it built into your spirit, and it will work for you!

Know What Hinders You and Conquer It!Identify and bypass the obstacles that stand in the way of your healing and learn God’s recipe for life and health.

Having a moment-by-moment

awareness of the Greater

One living in you will

change your life.

KENNETH ESTRADA

HAVING A MOMENT-BY-MOMENT awareness of the Greater One living in you will change your life. Some people are sin-conscious, others are people-conscious, and some go through life seemingly unconscious! But understanding who you are in Christ and recognizing that the God Who created the heavens and earth lives in you will produce confidence, or God-consciousness.

First John 5:14–15 (NKJV) says, “Now this is the confidence that we have in Him, that if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us. And if we know that He hears us, whatever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we have asked of Him.”

Don’t Let Doubt WinGod expects His people to be courageous. We see an

account of this in Matthew chapter 14, where Jesus (and Peter) walked on water.

MATTHEW 14:26–31 (TPT)26 When the disciples saw him walking on top of the water, they were terrified and screamed, “A ghost!”27 Then Jesus said, “Be brave and don’t be afraid. I am here!”28 Peter shouted out, “Lord, if it’s really you, then have me join you on the water!”29 “Come and join me,” Jesus replied. So Peter stepped out onto the water and began to walk toward Jesus.30 But when he realized how high the waves were, he became frightened and started to sink. “Save me, Lord!” he cried out.31 Jesus immediately stretched out his hand and lifted him up and said, “What little faith you have! Why would you let doubt win?”

Peter lost his God-consciousness the moment he looked at the waves. Once he took his attention off Jesus—the Word made flesh—fear overcame him, and he started sinking. After crying out to the Lord, Jesus took Peter by the hand and said, “Why would you let doubt win?” (v. 31).

It’s worth noting that EVEN WITH “LITTLE” FAITH, PETER WALKED ON ROUGH WAVES DURING A STORM. Jesus, how-ever, didn’t pat him on the back for that. It’s not that Peter needed more faith; he needed to maintain the faith he had. When Jesus told him to “come,” I believe Jesus expected Peter to walk with Him the entire way.

Peter could have continued walking on water if he kept his attention on Jesus. If only he had maintained an awareness that God was with him. ANYTIME FEAR COMES IN, WE BECOME LESS CONSCIOUS OF GOD.

There is a battle between faith and doubt and be-tween faith and fear. Jesus was disappointed when Peter allowed doubt to win. The same goes for us when we take our attention off Jesus. The world may seem dark, but God’s children are still the light of the world! There are more people to reach and more life to touch.

Why do we let doubt win? It is easy to focus on the challenges instead of keeping our eyes fixed on Jesus. Sometimes after accomplishing a faith challenge, another one arises; and we lose our confidence—our God-consciousness. Fear comes in and hinders us from doing what our Father has called us to do, and we begin to sink.

Acknowledge HimGod never wants His sons and daughters to sink. One

way to ensure that we don’t is constantly being mindful of Who lives in us. How do we do that? By acknowl-edging Him. Proverbs 3:6 tells us to acknowledge the Lord in all our ways. We should daily express our grati-tude for His presence and leadership in our lives. We are to look to the Lord in every situation and ask what He wants us to do. We have to turn away from distractions and turn our hearts fully to God.

THE SAME SPIRIT WHO HELPED JESUS TO BE SUCCESS-FUL IN HIS EARTHLY MINISTRY LIVES IN YOU AND ME. He will help you to be a success as a husband, father, and son. And on your job, in your business, ministry, and church. He’s just waiting for you to acknowledge Him._____________[Editor’s Note: Kenneth Estrada pastors Kingdom Life Int’l. KENNETH W. HAGIN

Thank You, God!

THE ATMOSPHERE WE live in is pretty negative right now. Blame-shifting, making excuses, and complaining are everywhere. Our society has become even more critical and fearful, reeling from one crisis to the next. A pandemic has shaken the health and wealth of nations. Social issues sparked riots and spread to other countries. Yet in the midst of it all, Thanksgiving Day comes as a positive event in a negative world.

God Is Our Helper PSALM 30:10 (NKJV)10 Hear, O Lord, and have mercy on me; Lord, be my helper!

THIS THANKSGIVING, WE NEED TO BE THANKFUL THAT GOD HAS HELPED US! Throughout the Bible, He continually helps His people. The writer of Hebrews 13:5–6 (NIV 1984) echoes what the writers said many centuries before (Deut. 31:6; Ps. 118:6–7), and we can say now: “God has said, ‘Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you.’ So we say with confidence, ‘The Lord is my helper; I will not be afraid. What can man do to me?’ ”

How has God helped us? He gave us His Son and provided the Word and the Holy Spirit. Angels are available to us. The Name of Jesus has been given to us along with His power and authority! He gives us favor and grace and a place in His family. God helped us before we ever turned our lives over to Him, and He helps us now.

God Is Our Turnaround Master

PSALM 30:11 (NKJV)11 You have turned for me my mourning into dancing; You have put off my sackcloth and clothed me with gladness.

WE HAVE FACED SITUATIONS THAT JUSTIFIED TEARS AND SORROW, BUT GOD TURNED IT AROUND! Don’t walk away from that without any expression of thanks. When facing a challenge, immediately respond, “Lord, You are my helper! You will turn this around!” Circumstances are never the final word. God is the turnaround master and can trans-form a midnight hour into a moment of deliverance.

What we see around us is changeable. “Therefore we do not lose heart. . . . For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far out-weighs them all. So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen. For what is seen is tempo-rary, but what is unseen is eternal” (2 Cor. 4:16–18 NIV 1984).

God Is Our SourcePSALM 30:12 (NKJV)12 To the end that my glory may sing praise to You and not be silent. O Lord my God, I will give thanks to You forever.

THANKSGIVING IS A TIME FOR COUNTING OUR BLESSINGS. It’s more than turkeys and food or remembering the pilgrims. It’s a time to say, “Lord, thank You.” Let’s be thankful that our God can turn tragedy into triumph. We need to express gratitude that He is our Peace and learn to concentrate on thankfulness for what we already have.

Every day of the year, may we remember to let our hearts sing and praise God for what He has done for us. In the middle of abundance and blessing, know that we had help to get where we are. And in the midst of trouble, let us not forget that the Lord is our Helper!

May we never become so “dig-nified” that we think it is out of character to give thanks to God. Stay focused on God’s majesty and greatness. He is an awesome God! And He is our Helper. Let’s never fail to say, “Thank You!”

God was taking care of business at Campmeeting 2020! Foundations of faith and prayer built a platform for wisdom to flow and hearts to receive. Reports from Rhema campuses around the world brought news of start-ups and online expan-sion. Online attendees testified to being healed and refreshed while participating from afar. From kids to adults, the Word brought transformation. By the end of the week, an army of believers resonating with compassion and unity was mobi-lized with fresh fire—ready to hear God and take action!

Undeniable LoveKENNETH W. HAGIN“The Word of God brings us spiritual power, wisdom, and compassion. And it speaks through us to those who need to hear it. From the Word, we receive an undeniable love for people of all nations and races. Everyone needs to hear about the saving blood of Jesus. How will that happen? By the Church rising up in its supernatural authority, speaking the Word of God, and pulling down strongholds. Our fight is not against flesh and blood but against principalities and powers in high places. We have been born for such a time as this! It’s our time to do what we’ve been called to do. IT’S TIME TO REALIZE THAT THE WORD AND THE POWER OF GOD HAVE TO BE DEMONSTRATED. LET’S RISE UP AND GO TO OUR WORLD WITH THE DEMONSTRATION OF GOD’S POWER!”

Bind Together“It is not people or politics. It’s the devil. So let’s focus on the right thing! We have to quit talking about opinions and start talking about God. Let’s practice what He said. GOD IS LOVE, AND WE MUST LOVE. We must bind together in unity and harmony. We must love each other.” // LYNETTE HAGIN

The God of the Comeback“Mark 9:23 (ESV) says, ‘All things are possible for one who believes.’ I believe 2020 is my best year yet! What do you believe? This pandemic does not define my year; God defines it. IT’S TIME TO HAVE REAL FAITH. You may not always under-stand, but to have faith, you don’t have to understand. Start declaring that 2020 will be the best year you’ve ever had!” // CRAIG W. HAGIN

“How does faith come? By hearing! Not from having heard. Hearing is present tense. FAITH IS ALWAYS IN THE PERPETUAL PRESENT OF HEARING GOD. What is God saying to you now? Is your faith based on what you have heard or what you are hearing?” // EARL GLISSON

“There is an end to your faith. God wants you to see the fulfillment of the promise. To not get weary, you must keep your focus or you won’t endure. WHAT YOU FOCUS ON WILL TAKE YOU FROM BELIEVING YOU HAVE RECEIVED TO ACTUALLY HAVING.” // DAVID SHEARIN

“Operating from the God-kind of love gives you a perspective that nothing is big enough to take you down when God’s love is in you. IT IS INEXHAUST-IBLE AND INDESTRUCTIBLE! LOVE NEVER FAILS AND WILL WORK IN YOUR SITUA-TION.” // MARK HANKINS

“Love causes us to be bold. When the light of the Kingdom of God shines through us, WE CAN BOLDLY STAND IN THE FACE OF ANYTHING THAT COMES OUR WAY and walk in whatever God has called us to.”// DARRELL HUFFMAN

“WHEN BLOOD-BOUGHT BELIEVERS GET THEIR EYES OFF THEIR PROBLEMS AND OVER ON THE LORD, SOMETHING POWERFUL WILL HAPPEN! You can tell when a believer has their eyes on the Lord. They have a radiance about them—a pep in their step.”// BILL RAY

Instead of having a predetermined theme, Summer Blitz 2020 was a wide-open slate. Leading up to Blitz week, JV and Varsity youth were encouraged to seek God about what He wanted them to receive during Summer Blitz. And what a week it was! Testimonies poured in from the students. Their relationships with God were strengthened as He spoke to them during incredible times of worship, while listening to the powerful messages, and as the Holy Spirit ministered to their hearts. Several students weren’t sure what to do after graduating from high school. But God made it clear what path they should take. Some are even coming to Rhema!

Trusting God in StormsHAVE YOU EVER been caught in a storm? It can be terrifying. As a teenager living in the Dallas area, I drove to Oklahoma one evening with a friend who was going to see her parents. Just as we reached the Oklahoma border, a storm suddenly arose. We were in a Volkswagen fondly referred to as a “bug.” It was a very little car.

The rain came down so fiercely that we couldn’t see, and the wind was so strong that it literally caused my friend to lose control of the vehicle. We had no option but to pull to what we thought was the side of the road and stop. Honestly, I thought we were going to die. Needless to say, we called on the power of the Name of Jesus to save us from the storm. It passed and we safely continued our journey.

Though you may never experience that kind of storm, we all encounter inner storms that are just as intense and destructive to our emotions as a physical storm is. I’m reminded of the story in John chapter 6 where the disciples got caught in a storm. Let’s review that story.

John 6:16–21 (NLT) “That evening Jesus’ disciples went down to the shore to wait for him. But as darkness fell and Jesus still hadn’t come back, they got into the boat and headed across the lake toward Capernaum. Soon a gale swept down upon them, and the sea grew very rough. They had rowed three or four miles when suddenly they saw Jesus walking on the water toward the boat. They were terrified, but he called out to them, ‘Don’t be afraid. I am here!’ Then they were eager to let him in the boat, and immediately they arrived at their destination!”

This story shows us many things about storms. First of all, we must realize that no matter what kind of storm we face, we can be assured that Jesus is Lord over all our storms if we will place our trust and confidence in Him. I was taught that from a very young age. Therefore, when my friend and I were caught in that severe storm, I began to call upon the Name of Jesus.

In going through difficult times in life, the darkness of the situation can keep us from recognizing that God is always present to help us if we ask. John 16:24 (NKJV) says, “Until now you have asked nothing in My name. Ask, and you will receive, that your joy may be full.”

It is the enemy’s tactic to engulf us in the darkness of a situation and hide the presence of God. I do not know what it is about nighttime, but it seems that problems intensify at night. Years ago when our daughter, Denise, was around 10, we were awakened in the middle of the night by her crying. When my husband went to see why, he found her burning up with fever. He prayed, rebuked the fever, and it went down immediately. A couple hours later, the fever returned, and he went through the same ritual. The fever once again subsided.

This same scenario happened a third time! By that time, he was angry at the devil for attacking our daughter. He then boldly prayed and loudly said, “Satan, you cannot bring your bag of symptoms into my household! I commanded you to leave in the Name of Jesus. Obviously, you did not understand the command. So I am going to literally kick you out of my house.” Ken began saying this as he walked down the stairs from our daughter’s bedroom. He opened the front door and said, “Satan get your symptoms out of my house in Jesus’ Name.” Denise’s fever broke and never returned that night.

In the midst of the darkness, we must speak boldly to the storm. Jesus is always there. He is watching over us. He cares for us, and He wants to rescue us from the storm. There is a hymn that goes:

When darkness seems to hide his face. I rest on his unchanging grace. In every high and stormy gale. My anchor holds within the vale. On Christ the solid rock I stand. All other ground is sinking sand. All other ground is sinking sand.*

If we listen to God’s instructions, He will always lead us out of any storm we face. Sometimes the lighting and thunder of our circumstances keep us from hearing the voice of God. Psalm 46:10 instructs us to “be still and know that I am God.” Trust God, He is the Master of every storm.

Well, did you know that there are treasures that God has buried just for you to find? We can tell you where to find them, but you will have to do the digging! Are you willing to dig and search for the treasures that God has for you? Below are a few of God’s “buried” treasures that we have “dug up” for you. But in order to find the others, you are going to have to do some “digging” into God’s Word—the Bible.

• “ The law of Your mouth is better to me than thousands of coins of gold and silver.”

—Psalm 119:72 (NKJV)• “ In the future there is laid up for me the crown of

righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will award to me on that day.”

—2 Timothy 4:8 (NASB)• “ I want them to have complete confidence that they

understand God’s mysterious plan, which is Christ himself. In him lie hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge.”

—Colossians 2:2–3 (NLT)

START RACE TO THE TREASURE!Two or more can play this game. You will need two pennies for each player. One penny will be your “flipper” and the other will be your game piece.
