Research The seven different

learning styles include: visual, aural, verbal, tactile, logical, social, and solitary.

We decided to pick the three learning methods because theses are the most common used in class.

The Beginning At first, the Octobrain

team wanted to conduct our experiment on elderly memory.

The researchers say that these declines are some of the earliest evidence of cognitive decline that may even lead to dementia or Alzheimer's.

Because of these research results we wanted to find away to improve the elderly memory.

Brain Development

The second idea that Octobrain came up with is doing research on all people’s memory.

Teaching Methods Octobrain’s final topic

is to expand on students learning styles in school.

Not all students absorb information the same way, it is very important that teachers realize this.

We want to prove to educators and improve students success.

Learning Styles

Our test consisted of three different learning styles: tactile/kinesthetic, auditory, and visual.

We tested students from grades 6-8.

Page 8: Octobrain

Testing The first part of the

test is tactile/kinesthetic.

The test taker will feel each object.

Next, the student will write down as many objects as they can remember.

Page 9: Octobrain

Testing The second part of

the test is visual. For the visual test,

the student will look at 27 objects being shown.

Lastly, the test taker will write down all the objects that they remember.

Page 10: Octobrain

Testing The third part of the

test is auditory. The test taker will

listen to 27 objects being recited

Then, the student will write down all the objects that they can remember.

Page 11: Octobrain

According to our data, the test takers got 28% average correct for auditory learning, 34% average correct for visual learning and 38% average correct tactile learning.

We planned on showing teachers and educators the results of our testing and why you shouldn't teach all of the students the same, to prove to them there does need to be a change. If a student is taught in the method that they benefit most from they can do even better in school.
