India‘s solar energy target is for capacity of 100 GW by the year 2022 out of which 40 GW is to come from grid-connected photovoltaic roof systems. It is therefore expected that both, the grid-connected and the off-grid PV market in India will see tremendous growth over the next few years. India added about 8 GW of solar energy capacity in 2017. The average growth rate of this market is more than 50% per year. This event with government participation from Germany and India as well as key industry players will look at the market developments ofSolar PV in India. The focus will be on emerging business >
Side-Events & Workshops
In addition to the Off-Grid Power Conference 2018, BSW-Solar offers various workshops and country sessions during the trade show. These Side- Events will deliver fi rsthand information and offers matchmaking opportunities with the delegation members and companies. Those workshops and sessions will take place either in the exhibition areas or in the International Congress Center Munich (ICM).

PV Prosumption: Potential & Business Models to Boost the PV Sector in Europe
BSW-Solar, EU Project PVP4Grid(english)
ICM Room 11 A
freeofcharge
Europe‘s liberalized electricity market is expected to deliver more competitive, effi cient and cheaper energy. Due to its cost and growth perspective, photovoltaics (PV) will be a key driver of this development throughout Europe because PV has reached a level of competitiveness that allows moving to self-consumption schemes in many European countries and eventually to peer-to-peer selling of the self-produced energy. Such a “prosumption” role empowers consumers and energy communities to partici-pate actively in the electricity market by producing energy themselves. This session will present the different con-cepts of prosumption and it´s potential in Europe. It also offers an overview of business models and best practice examples that have either been successfully implemented, or are currently under development in EU Member States. In addition, the session will address the storage and de-mand-side aspects such as new fl ex services to the grid operator – what fi rst steps have been achieved and what still needs to be done?

The PV market in the Dominican Republic is gaining mo-mentum: the government is promoting renewable energies and has announced very ambitious targets. In addition, PV parks with a total volume of around 125 MW are under construction. In the session with high-ranking represen-tatives of the Dominican Republic‘s energy sector, we will address this market and its opportunities.

PV in Cuba: Large-scale systems are on the rise and a new net-metering model stimulates the residential sector
BSW-Solar, GIZ(english)
ICM Room 14 A
freeofcharge
Cuba has a total installed solar PV capacity of more than 65 megawatts, about half of which went into operation in 2017. For smaller facilities, a net-metering model was intro-duced in March 2018. This shows that the government is increasingly relying on renewable energies. By 2030, Cuba wants to achieve a renewable energy share of 24 percent in electricity production. >

Captive Power Projects in Nigeria: Opportunities and Challenges
Solar Power Europe(english)
ICM Room 2
freeofcharge
SolarPower Europe in collaboration with the African-EU Renewable Energy Cooperation Programme (RECP) and support of Intersolar Europe and The German Solar Asso-ciation (BSW-Solar) organises half a day workshop on 21st June during Intersolar Europe in Munich. The workshop aims to promote captive power green community initia-tives undertaken by Nigerian entrepreneurs as well as presenting a broad panorama of the regulatory and fi nan-cing opportunities and challenges in Nigeria. Participating companies will not only have the chance to learn about the general opportunities in Nigeria but also to engage directly with the invited Nigerian companies and discuss potential joint ventures.
In the session, high-level representatives from the indus-trial sector explain what opportunities there are for Cuba after the country‘s partial opening to Western countries.
