As to Shirokawa-Kajiki, Kurokawa-Kajiki, Me-
Kajiki, Basho-Kajiki, Ma-Kajiki, Maguro, Kiwada,
and Mebachi, in case their weights are more than 5
kan a-piece, the " Round" controlled selling prices
shall be applied to them so far as they are removed
of their entrails and gills,but when their weights are
less than 5 kan a-piece the "Round" controlled sell-
ing prices may be applied to them though they are
not removed of these two. The prices of them that
are more than 5 kan a-piece in weight shall be those
deducted by 15% from the " Round" prices when
they have the entrails and gills with them, but the
prices shall be those deducted by 10% from the
"Round" prices when they are removed only of
their entrails but not their gills.
By " Slice" of Ma-Kajiki, Shirokawa-Kajiki,
Kurokawa-Kajiki, Me-Kajiki, Basho-Kajiki, Maguro,
Kiwada and Mebachi it shall be meant these fish
that are removed of their heads (including gill-lids),
entrails, tails, fins, Kama (base-bones of the heads)
and spinal bones. By "Cut" of these fish it shall

be meant those that are removed of their heads (in-
cluding gill-lids),entrails,tails,fins and Kama (base-
bones of the heads) and cut into larger parts without
removing the spinal bones.
As to Moka-Same, Ao-Same, Hoshi-Same, Sharks
of which the weight is more than 3 kan a-piece,
Tsuno-Same and Yoshikiri-Same the " Round " con-
trolled of them shall be those of these sharks removed
of their entrailsand the prices deducted by 15% from
the " Round" controlled shall be applied to these
sharks with their entrails.
Of the Dolphins and other sea-beasts the "Round"
prices shall be applied to them only when they are
removed of their entrails,and the applicable prices
shall be those deducted by 20% from the " Round "
sellingin case their entrailsare not removed.
As to Ma-Dara, Suketo-Dara and Komai, when
their heads are removed in accordance with the pro-
visions,the controlled selling prices of them shall be
those added by 50% to the " Round" of the kinds
of these fish.

signated as B Areas. However, in that case the
prefectural governors otherwise provide with the

approval of Director-General of Price Board, they
shall not always be designated as B Areas.
5. The Areas that shall not be included in A, B
and D Areas shall be designated as C Areas.
6. D Areas are the following areas and those
that are designated by Director-General of Price
Board.

7. The controlled selling prices of the wholesalers
and those of the retailers in A Areas shall be
respectively the controlled selling prices of the
wholesalers and those of the retailers when each
of them delivers the fish on this table in A Areas.
In B, C and D Areas the methods of application
of the prices shall be analogous to that of A
Areas.
" to deliver" shall mean the selling or the
consignment of selling, the freightage and other
shipping expenses being borne by the sellers
themselves.
8. As to the controlled selling prices of whole-
salers, when they sell their fish directly to the big
consumers, the controlled selling prices of whole-
salers shall be applied in so far as not otherwise
provided.
The persons or the business organizations
that are granted permission to purchase on busi-
ness more than 5 kan of fresh fish at one time
shall be treated as the big consumers.
9. The freightage and other shipping expenses
shall not be added to the controlled selling prices
on this table. v,
10. The packing charges (including the cost of
ice) shall not be added to the controlled selling
prices in this table.
The sellers shall bear the hire and return
charges (including collecting expenses) of such
containers as barrels, tubs, boxes and baskets
when they sell the fish in these.
11. In the case where the producers, the bodies of
producers or the wholesalers deliver their fish
on this table on the surface of the adjoining
seas of any Areas, the controlled selling prices
shall be those deducted by 15^0 from the con-
trolled selling prices of the wholesalers of pre-
vailing in the coast cities, towns or villages of
the Area concerned.
12. "Round" shall signify the fish in their perfect
form and include those that are removed of
their entrails, in so far as not otherwise provided.
"Slice" shall signify the fish that are removed
of their heads (including gill-lids),entrails and >
tailsand cut into slicein so far as not otherwise
provided.
"Fillet" shall signifythe fishlhat are removed
of their heads, entrails and spinal bones. To
Anago, Ku-Anago, Gin-Anago and other kinds
of Anago the " Fillet" prices shall be applicable
though they are not removed of their heads.
"Fillet" shall signifythe fishthat are removed
of their heads, tails,entrails, bones and skins.
However, Abura-zame and Tsuno-zame with
spinal bones only and Kasube bones are included
to the above-mentioned " Fillet".
"Skinned" shall signify the fish that are
removed of tails and entrailsand skinned.
To the fish that are processed in some way
and called "Slice" or "Fillet" but do not con-
form to the prescribed provisions of " Slice" and
" Fillet,"the " Round" controlled selling prices
shall be applied.
To the fish of which only the "Round"
controlled selling prices are designated, even if
they are processed as to conform to the pre-
scribed provisions of " Slice " or " Fillet", the
"Round" controlled sellingpricesshall be applied.
13. The controlled sellingprices of the Fish that
are removed of their heads shall be those 30°^'
plus the "Round" controlled selling prices of
their kinds, in so far as not otherwise provided.
To those kinds of fishof which the " Round "
controlled selling prices of wholesalers in D
Areas are prescribed 60 yen and 40 yen the pre-
ceding provision of this Article shall not be
applied.
14. " Heads removed" shall signify the removed
of the heads (including gill-lids)and entrails.
15. The "Round" controlled sellingprices of the
fish on this ,table which are consigned on the
condition to be sold as " Slice " or " Cut " shall
be those of the " Round " of their Kinds of the
wholesalers at the places of delivery.
16. The " Round " or " Slice " controlled selling
prices of the fish on this<table shall be applied
correspondingly, to their kinds, as the controlled
sellingprices of the boiled, mild salted and slightly
processed of their kinds, in so far as not other-
wise provided on this table or the controlled
prices are separately designated by the Director-
General of Price Board in accordance with the
provision of Art. 4 of the Price Control Ordi-
nance.
17. The controlled selling prices on this table shall
not be applied to when the fish are supplied as
the baits for angling,the baits to be scattered'on
the surface of the sea according to the specific
fisheriesor the live baits for the bonito-fishing.
18. In the case where the fish 'on this table are
called by the different names according to their
sizes as they grow up or have various dialectal
names the controlled sellingprices of theirproper

Amendments to the Regulations for the
Subdivision of the Printing Bureau

The Ministry of Finance made the following
amendment to the Regulations for the Subdivision
of the Printing Bureau and put it into force as from
the 13th of September, 1946.

Prevention and Control of
Typhus Fever in Japan.
1. In addition to the measures outlined in
Memorandum of 21 November 1945 for the Imperial
Japanese Government, Subject: "Prevention and
Control of Typhus Fever in Japan " (Reference: AG
710 (21 Nov. 45) PH), it is desired that the respons-
ible Japanese agency immediately institute further
measures for the control of typhus fever as follows :
a. Disinfectation by use of Insecticide, spray, DDT,
residual effect at thirty (30) day intervals of the
following:
(1) All railway cars assigned for use of Allied
military personnel.
(2) All ferries operating between Aomori and
Hakodate.
(3) Such other public conveyances that may be
assigned for use of allied military personnel.
b. After each disinfectation all conveyances will
be plainly and uniformly marked as directed by
the military command concerned to show date
and place of treatment.
2. Military commands have been authorized to
make Insecticide spray and equipment available
as required for disinfectation.
3. Japanese civilian personnel will be provided
by the Japanese agency concerned to carry out
required disinfectation procedures.
4. United States military personnel will be
available only for instruction and supervision
of Japanese civilian personnel required to carry
out the provisions of this memorandum.

field of the suburb of Konosu Town. The body was
