“Now is the time for all good men to come to the aid of their country”. I used to type this over and over in high school to practice my keyboard skills. Now with a little editing it could be a very important message to our membership. “Now is the time for all good club members to come to aid of our Convention”. Yep, we need all of our members to step up this month and next to pull together to prepare for our big “styrene soiree” on October 18-19th. If you have not scheduled off work for these dates, please do. We need your help and get ready to have a great time. Please check your shelves for last-minute raffle donations, open your wallets for banquet tickets and registrations, The Convention Committee has worked very hard to make this show a very special one and we want you to be a part of it. Check with Greg or myself for an assignment of duties and we will find something for you to do on the days of the show. Oh, and remember to wear RVIPMS garb, either the Convention t-shirt or an RVIPMS golf shirt. One last thing, please bring lots of models to enter; the cost of entering twenty models is equal to the cost of entering one. It’s unlimited for a Regional. See ya’ Thursday night!!! We have some new additions to the vendor list. Byrd’s Aviation Books has joined our ranks and a local shop, Anything and Everything will multiple tables selling a myriad of items at the show. We still have a few vendors that have not committed 100% but we expect them to come through at the last minute. Bert Kinzey of Squadron Signal books fame will be in attendance and be sure to visit his tables. He has written some great books and is a Virginia Tech alumnus as well. GO HOKIES!!!

The stylists at the Corporate Image Barber Shop in downtown Roanoke promote the Region 2 IPMS Convention.

How to get there;From Salem Ave. turn onto 11/2 St. Drive the very short distance to Norfolk Ave. SW and turn left. Follow under the 2nd st. over-pass to the back of the museum. The fenced parking lot is behind the building as indicated in the picture. Enter through the rear door, (the main entrance will be locked) walk down the hallway and turn right. Meeting room is in right corner.

When to get there;The club has two meetings per month, with a couple exceptions.Build meetings are the second Thursday each month. Business meetings are the fourth Thursday each month. All meetings start at 7 p.m. For further details visit our website. www.rvipms.com
