Since our Council’s founding organization was established in 1972, we have worked diligently to grow value-driven partnerships between our certified MBEs and Corporate Members. Over the course of the past four decades, we have been a bridge between corporate America and minority owned businesses.

Now, we are proud to be the focal point of a vibrant community that do business together for the mutual economic advancement of their organizations, and the economic growth of the communities we collectively serve.

OMSDC is a privately funded, non-profit, corporate services organization and is an affiliate of the National Minority Supplier Development Council (NMSDC). Our members are major corporations and public entities in education, industry, finance, professional services, construction, consumer products and health care organizations that are tapping into the emerging global marketplace. Our corporate members strategically look to OMSDC for minority owned companies that can meet their demanding supply chain needs. These collaborations and partnerships provide opportunities for our MBEs to

deliver innovation, quality products, and world-class service. In partnership with OMSDC, the nation’s leading companies come to the table with an understanding that minority supplier diversity programs are not just a competitive advantage, but a strategic imperative.

It is our sincere hope that the articles and reports found on the following pages of Connections Magazine highlight for our readers the sustainable strategies that build meaningful and mutually beneficial connections between corporations and minority owned businesses.

Getting diverse suppliers and procurement leaders together is critical for developing and sustaining economic inclusion. Yet many suppliers find that this can be difficult to accomplish outside of more traditional tradeshow settings.

In February, Cintas Corporation held its first three-day business retreat in Orlando, Fla. The retreat brought together key procurement executives from leading corporations and minority and women-owned business enterprises (M/WBEs). This event, created and managed by The Abercrumbie Group, aimed to establish a platform to generate meaningful conversations and prepare MWBEs for future opportunities by creating 6-12 month action plans.

Attendees included MWBE Partners, d.e. Foxx & Associates, CB Tech and Hightowers Petroleum along with Marriott, Jones Lang LaSalle, Johnson Controls, Brown-Forman, Kellogg’s, National Roofing Partners, Skanska USA Building, University of Cincinnati and World Emblem.

Host A Retreat That Has An Impact To encourage meaningful conversations between organizations and MWBEs, the retreat was limited to representatives from 15 companies. This was designed to keep the groups productive and intimate with one another.

Cintas secured engaging guest speakers to discuss a variety of business topics, such as human capital, innovation and operational excellence.

One-on-one time was provided to foster connections between the MWBEs and the diverse suppliers and procurement leaders present. Having access to these often hard-to-reach professionals was an important fact for MWBEs, and was greatly appreciated.

“As an MBE, I found it extremely helpful to conduct one-on-one discussions with corporations,” said Ken Cartwright, Vice President of Operations for XLC Services. “The retreat gave us better interactions than we’ve experienced at traditional tradeshows.”

While the response from the MWBEs in attendance was overwhelmingly

positive and constructive, procurement professionals also enjoyed the event. “The retreat created an engaging and relaxed environment that supported relationship-building with qualified MWBEs,” said Bill Miller, Chief Operating Officer of Supply Chain Management & Procurement at Jones Lang LaSalle. “We’re continually focused on economic inclusion and enjoyed being able to connect with these businesses on a deeper level.”

Cintas Corporation is looking forward to hosting a similar event in 2016 and has begun identifying companies that will bring enrichment to the retreat. For more information about supplier diversity at Cintas, visit www.cintascsr.com.

In today’s competitive business landscape, every organization, including minority and women-owned business enterprises (M/WBEs), needs to know how to not only survive, but also thrive. Winning new business is the key to long-term success, but not every organization has mastered the process of securing the sale in a competitive environment. Cintas recognized this and developed a solution specific to M/WBEs.

The “Selling the Cintas Way” training course provides diverse suppliers with an understanding of how to differentiate themselves and create opportunities in order to increase growth and sustain it. Each year, with the help of local chapters of the National Minority Supplier Development Council (NMSDC), some of Cintas’ leaders, including Bob Mitchell, a Sales Vice President, help conduct a training road show in various cities across the U.S.

Although Cintas offers numerous courses to help M/WBEs, the “Selling the Cintas Way” training course has been the most requested and attended during the last several years. In fact, in the past six years almost 1,000 suppliers have been trained, including approximately 100 since June 2014. Attendees appreciate that Cintas’ instructors provide real-world experiences and examples that can help them

improve their sales technique and process. Local council leaders are also raving.

“You are experts in your field, and the responses from attendees are overwhelmingly positive,” Cheri Henderson, President of the TriState Minority Supplier Development Council (TMSDC), told Cintas. “Your collateral materials are a tremendous resource for MBE development, growth and success. We look forward to Cintas’ involvement with the TSMSDC, to help MBEs win more opportunities.”

Cintas believes that the training course not only benefits M/WBEs, but also brings value to their sales leaders. The Cintas training program has been so successful that they are already receiving requests for additional training sessions and have even conducted multiple sessions in the same locations year after year.

IS COMMITTED TO INCREASING MBE/DBE PARTICIPATION

As many people know, the Ohio Turnpike and Infrastructure Commission operates the state’s only toll road. It runs 241 miles from the Indiana border to the Pennsylvania line. The Commission strives to maintain a premiere road for commuters, commercial traffic, and recreational travelers. There are seven sets of customer service plazas along the road and eight maintenance buildings to support the operation.

The budget required to maintain such a large road is significant. In 2014, the Commission spent more than $93 million in the acquisition and construction of capital assets.

Additionally, approximately $40 million was paid in other goods and services. In short, there is a significant amount of work at the Ohio Turnpike available to private businesses.

In 2014 the Commission announced a new program emphasizing participation of minority and other disadvantaged businesses. The process of receiving Minority Business Enterprise (“MBE”) certification with the Ohio Turnpike is simple. The application is available on the web at www.ohioturnpike.org. Bidders wishing to become MBE certified are not required to do so

before bidding, but are encouraged to submit the application as soon as is practical.

“The Commission is proud to be a partner with the Ohio Minority Supplier Development Council as a corporate member,” said Tommie Jo Marsilio, Ohio Turnpike Director of Contracts and Compliance. “The Ohio Turnpike isn’t just talking about supplier diversity, we are accomplishing it. In only one year we have seen MBE participation in construction contracts improve from two percent or less to eight percent or higher for many of our contracts.”

Relationships ARE KEY

Both relationships and diversity are central to KeyBank and they come together powerfully in their Supplier Diversity strategy. KeyBank launched its formal Supplier Diversity strategy over 25 years ago. Then and now, the bank’s economic investment in diverse businesses in Ohio and across the country is supported by senior leadership. It’s also carefully woven into daily priorities at every level of the organization.

KeyBank’s Supplier Diversity strategy is founded on forming relationships with – and purchasing a variety of goods and services from – companies that are at least 51 percent

owned, managed and controlled by individuals who are women, minority, veteran or LGBT. The relationships they develop benefit both KeyBank and their suppliers; while diverse suppliers help them deliver exceptional products and services to our own clients, having KeyBank’s business allows them to succeed, provide jobs, and build wealth within our communities.

Quite simply, Key’s long-term success depends on building relationships and engaging with diverse entrepreneurs in meaningful and impactful ways. Most recently, KeyBank was instrumental in introducing The RCF Group, a minority owned business and KeyBank supplier, and S. Rose Co. of Cleveland, which ultimately resulted in the The RCF Group‘s acquisition of S. Rose. For Key, supporting the business growth of diverse suppliers is an essential part of KeyBank’s commitment to helping communities thrive.

Poppie Parish, Sr. Vice President of Diversity & Inclusion has led KeyBank’s Supplier Diversity team since 2001. Also on the Key Supplier Diversity team is Camille Bragg, Assistant Vice President, Corporate Responsibility Initiative Manager.

Supplier Diversity is a company business goal which is supported starting at the executive level. The results prove it: In Messer’s 2014 fiscal year, more than $171 million (or 19.2%) of its total outside purchases were spent with certified M/WBEs.

“Supplier Diversity is the lifeline of our future,” said President and CEO Tom Keckeis. “It’s an opportunity, not only for us, but for everyone.”

Stan Williams, Vice President, Chief Diversity & Inclusion Officer says “in order to compete and sustain growth in today’s business environment, it is imperative that Messer’s supply chain reflects the diversity of the communities in which we live and work.”

“Building and investing in the economic success of M/WBEs within our region is a business imperative at Messer, and we feel strongly that having a diverse supplier base is a powerful competitive

In February 2015, Thompson, handed over the supplier diversity reigns to John Munson, Jr.

“We look forward to our continued partnership with OMSDC and an outstanding 2015 at Macy’s with our fellow corporations and MBEs,” Munson says. “Howard Thompson handed us a first-rate Supplier Diversity program here at Macy’s and through our partnerships it will continue to thrive.”

Macy’s believes having a plan and passion for business is the key to success. There are many elements that contribute to a business’ growth. One is networking with corporations and other suppliers in our region.

Macy’s is proud to be a contributing sponsor and partner with the OMSDC, especially during the Ohio Business Opportunity Fair. As a team, they want to provide the tools and events needed to sustain and grow business.

The OBOF provides networking with like-minded professionals, educational and inspirational sessions to sustain and improve your business. There is also opportunity to make new contacts and visit with current suppliers, customers and friends.

Macy’s has a long relationship with NMSDC and the OMSDC. James Stocks, Senior Manager, Supplier Diversity & Vendor Development, serves as Treasurer on the Board of Directors for OMSDC. Macy’s staff also serves on the Cincinnati Region Local Advisory Committee (LAC). Macy’s has participated in each of the three modules for the NMSDC’s Centers of Excellence (COE) program, currently serving as COE co-chair.

“We believe in partnering with other world class corporations to increase our knowledge of supplier diversity,” Munson says. “This will ensure we have a strong foundation and help Ohio to be the best in the nation.”

At the Ohio Minority Supplier Development Council (OMSDC) Annual Awards Gala & Silent Auction on November 21, 2014, Howard Thompson, Vice President of Supplier Diversity & Vendor Development at Macy’s, Inc., received the Lifetime Achievement Award for his unwavering leadership in Supplier Diversity.

SUPPLIER SPOTLIGHT:A CLOSER LOOK

The Kent State Procurement Office of Supplier Diversity has begun a new initiative to match diverse vendors with offices on Kent State’s campus.

Veronica Cook-Euell, supplier diversity program manager, said she noticed some offices around campus may have difficulty finding vendors to supply their needs or are simply not aware of new vendors and their goods and/or services, particularly

the Office of Global Education.

“Looking at one of Kent’s internal publications, I noticed the great number of study abroad programs for students here,” Cook-Euell said. “When I found out there was no contract currently held for suppliers working alongside the Office of Global Education for these programs, I saw the opportunity to match the office with a diverse supplier to whom I have

access after having met them at a matchmaker event with the State of Ohio Department of Administrative Services.” This discovery led Cook-Euell to the idea of organizing vendor spotlights to showcase companies that may be useful to the university. The initiative aims to expose minority and women-owned suppliers who are not currently doing business with Kent State to offices that may be interested in their services. Based on the potential interest from students, faculty and staff to use a travel management program, Cook-Euell featured UniGlobe Travel Designers in the first vendor Spotlight on April 9.

UniGlobe Travel Designers is a travel company that assists businesses in creating, managing and maintaining travel programs. UniGlobe has been providing international and domestic group travel for more than 10 years. UniGlobe Owner and President Elizabeth Blount delivered the presentation on her company. According to Blount, the presentation was an introduction of UniGlobe Travel Designers’ history, business background and services.“It definitely gave us more visibility, and it’s wonderful

that Kent State has a commitment to work with diverse suppliers,” Blount said. “It was a great way for me to showcase what we do and show that we would be able to provide valuable service.”

Those that attended the presentation included representatives from the Deans Office of College of Business, Executive M.B.A. programs, and other members and faculty of Global Education.

Ediz Kaykayoglu, assistant director in the Office of Global Education, attended the presentation and said the experience was valuable to his offices and others on Kent’s campus.

“I think the presentation was really helpful for us to learn more about different suppliers and vendors, Kaykayoglu said. “It was well-prepared and the content was geared toward us.”

Kaykayoglu said he applauds supplier diversity for bringing

an initiative like this to Kent State. “There are great benefits: first, it’s a chance to learn more about opportunities with vendors, and second, since our main goal is to serve the university and students, we want to learn about different suppliers and what they can provide to serve the community best,” Kaykayoglu said.

Cook-Euell said the presentation from UniGlobe Travel Designers opened doors to possible future opportunities with this and other diverse suppliers.

“With the success of this presentation, I think we can start exploring the option of doing a spotlight with other vendors who are not currently working with Kent State,” Cook-Euell said. “I imagine there’s a need from other offices around campus for an initiative like this, so supplier diversity will do its best to assist them.”

The company is led by President & Owner Brian Brooks. The following are just a few of many business successes and community engagements Brooks and E.E. Ward have been involved with in the last year. For more information on E.E. Ward Moving & Storage Co., please visit www.eeward.com.

From Horses To HorsepowerE.E. Ward Moves Richard Petty Motorsports Into Next Generation of Racing

E.E. Ward Moving & Storage Company used horses to help people move back in 1881.

In 2015, it used more than a century’s worth of experience to move thousands of horsepower for Richard Petty Motorsports.

E.E. Ward was handpicked to move Richard Petty Motorsports as it moved from a 45,000-square-foot shop in Concord, North Carolina to a space twice the size in Mooresville, N.C.

While the move was just 20 miles, it proved to be a project several months in the making.

“It took more than 40 team members to make this move possible,” E.E. Ward President Brian Brooks said. “It was the project of a lifetime.”

Brooks said the E.E. Ward team loaded 24 trailers, each weighing approximately 40,000 pounds.

In all, the Columbus movers hauled more than 100 axles, 50 chassis and 200 pallets of various office and racing supplies.

After eight days, four forklifts and 56 pizzas for the crew, Richard Petty Motorsports was in its new home and already working on plans for the 2015 NASCAR season.

“It was an easy choice for us to work with E.E. Ward and northAmerican Van Lines,” said Sammy Johns, Director of Competition for Richard Petty Motorsports. “Their reputation for their commercial and residential moving services is second to none.”

“This move epitomized the capabilities of E.E. Ward and Richard Petty Motorsports. It was quality work with attention to detail that was also fast-paced, like living life by a stopwatch,“ added Brooks.

As a thank you for a job well done, E.E. Ward will have its logo on the car of NASCAR XFINITY Series driver Dakoda Armstrong during the XFINITY Series race Memorial Day Weekend at Charlotte Motor Speedway. E.E. Ward and northAmerican Van Lines will have its own show car at an event in Columbus prior to the August XFINITY Series race at the Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course in Lexington, Ohio.

E.E. Ward’s partner, northAmerican Van Lines, will also be the “Official Moving Partner for Richard Petty Motorsports” for the 2015 and 2016 NASCAR seasons.

To All About People, the open position represents the company’s future success.”

Ultimately, All About People aims to create long-term partnerships that allow clients to maximize the efficiency and productivity of their organizational workforce.

In May of 2014, Hightowers Petroleum Co.’s President and CEO, Steve Hightower, received the rare honor of being selected to accompany U.S. Secretary of Commerce Penny Pritzker to Nigeria and Ghana on a trade mission aimed at stimulating energy development in West Africa.

The delegation, comprised of representatives from 20 energy-focused companies from the U.S., witnessed firsthand the challenges that face Sub-Saharan Africa, where an estimated 600 million people live without access to electricity due to inadequate infrastructure and an unreliable energy supply.

Ever the optimist, Hightower views the challenges facing West Africa as a dual opportunity. “Knowing that you can make a difference in a region where more than two-thirds of the population lacks access to electricity is encouraging,” Hightower said. “As a trade mission delegate, my job is to identify ways that American businesses can facilitate that difference by essentially exporting energy from here to there.”

While Hightower’s has had an office in Nigeria since 1983—when he first visited the nation on a separate trade mission—the May visit helped to solidify his strategy for international growth and led to a number of what Hightower’s calls “game changers” for the business.

You could say 2014 was the year of International Energy Expansion for Hightowers Petroleum Co., which is one of North America’s leading wholesale energy distributors, providing petroleum products, natural gas and electricity to customers throughout the U.S., Canada and Mexico.

“First, we forged a strategic business partnership with Masters Energy of Nigeria, a major importer of petroleum products, which led to the formation of Hightowers Energy Resources, Ltd.That, combined with securing the necessary governmental permits, has cleared the way for us to begin trading crude and refined products to Africa and beyond.”

When U.S Marine Corps veteran Andre Bryan founded APB & Associates (APB) in 2004, his vision was to help smaller enterprises and start-ups get established and grow capacity, and larger corporations grow into multinationals.

Since then APB& Associates, a Cleveland-based management consulting firm, has evolved into a multi-million dollar company whose services are provided through four business units: Supply Chain Management, Construction Management, Capacity Building and Technical Training. The firm helps governments and Fortune 500 clients find solutions to problems that impede their growth and present challenges in the global marketplace and helps small to mid-sized firms improve operations to meet demands of customers while managing growth.

Because Bryan has a background in technology, it was natural to incorporate data management, project management, Lean Six Sigma principles, and ISO standards with its consultancy services.

“It isn’t enough to just advise our clients and walk away. We want to be sure they can sustain the solutions we design and offer them software that helps them with management ongoing,” says Bryan.

A major issue confronting many corporations is verifying whether their supply chain is who they say they are. APB addresses this issue for several clients through its proprietary software that validates supplier information, and now has a patented/proprietary product that helps

clients monitor their supply chains to ensure they hold required credentials and are compliant with national and international regulations.

Through its software solutions, APB has the capability to identify, verify and mitigate risks associated with environmental, labor and material issues facing companies around the globe. These services have helped firms remain compliant, avoid fines, and grow their supply base, resulting in more jobs and economic development.

With offices in Cleveland, Washington, DC, and Charlotte, hiring good people who are passionate about what they do has placed APB in a position for continued growth; its employees are regularly solicited to speak as subject matter experts. The company has lent its expertise to municipalities and institutions in the development of Community Benefits Agreements and Workforce Intermediary services, tools designed to ensure that diverse contractors/workforce have opportunities in construction projects. To date, hundreds of contractors have generated millions of dollars in revenues and have employed thousands throughout APB’s markets.

Louie Dejesus knows a bit about packaging. In fact, the President and CEO of Third Dimension Inc. (TDI) understands a great deal after more than 30 years of innovative printing and packaging experience. Third Dimensions is a certified minority owned company that designs and implements packaging solutions for their customers.

Dejesus’ passion and creative approaches to solving the most complex packaging dilemmas have rewarded TDI with a long list of clients that include such Fortune 100 and Fortune 500 as Chiquita, KraftMaid, Trico Corporation, USG Corporation, Great Lakes Cheese and Lowe’s.

“We save our clients millions of dollars in damages by providing the best custom, protective-packaging solutions to solve packaging problems and enhance a customer’s brand with our POP capabilities,” explains Dejesus. “We handle small to large scale run boxes, point-of-purchase displays and sales kits, all produced with very short lead times. Unlike competitors who are locked into using traditional corrugated equipment, Third Dimensions utilizes digital cutters and printers to reduce lead-time and tooling expense.”

TDI also produces fabricated and molded foams, triple-wall corrugated boxes and specialty crates. Dejesus started TDI in 1985 in Geneva, Ohio as a fulfillment center and non-traditional source of packaging. Today, the company utilizes

600,000 square feet of production and warehousing space to produce packaging -- from a brown corrugated box to four-color P.O.P. (Point of Purchase) displays and four-color, corrugated boxes produced on the HP Scitex. The company recently signed a P.O.P. for their second HP Scitex that will digitally print and bring TDI’s total UV digital capacity to over 20,000 square feet per hour or about a truckload ever eight hours. This brings the total investment to more than $4 million dollars in digital printing equipment this year. TDI expanded to Charlotte, North Carolina, where their employees design and produce four-color P.O.P and house CNC work centers. The company recently purchased their fourth main facility in Geauga County on Rt. 87 in Burton, Ohio. This facility will be a P.O.P. Design Center as well as Distributing Packaging Supplies.

Due to his recent award, The Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Governor’s Humanitarian Award, we decided to interview him about this great accomplishment.

Interviewer Lynsey Simonette (LS): What does receiving the MLK Governor’s Award mean to you?

David W. Price (DP): It means that I’ve obtained recognition for some of the things that I’ve done, and a start to the next page of my life and level of things I can do to emulate Dr. King’s “civil rights freedom” movement for inspiring those that are trying to reach their dreams, goals, and objectives.

LS: What about your background. Do you think it contributed most to your receiving this award?

DP: Having the old fashioned mentality that it takes a village to raise a child, but took it a little further. I believe it takes a community to help keep it together for the tradition of helping thy neighbor, and then we will have a secure and safe environment to raise our children. This is what helped me survive a life of uncertainty throughout the place I was raised and lived.

LS: How did/does Martin Luther King, Jr. inspire you?

DP: His non-fearing ambition to create something that many did not want to take the first steps to do, and that is fight for civil rights. That people, is a true definition to freedom to have and live without constraints.

LS: Do you have plans to seek out opportunities to serve others in your community? If so, what at they?

DP: Yes, to keep inspiring and giving young people hope and direction to their dreams, but have them prepared so they can succeed. They have to be taught to endure, persevere, sacrifice, tolerate adversity, and beware of those giving and telling you advice without true experiences themselves.

LS: Do these plans include your company?

DP: Yes. By working with interns, youth organizations, and other small disadvantaged businesses to help them prepare for the unknown’s their companies may encounter.

LS: Where do you see your company going within the next five years?

DP: Setting new standards and opportunities for small disadvantaged businesses in the State of Ohio and other similar states leveraging State agency departments using the State programs. We need to utilize GSA and 8(a) programs to strategically align groups of small businesses to bid together for “set aside projects” using their grouping strength together and then be able to begin sharing wealth.

LS: Is there anything you would like to say to people wanting to start a minority business?

DP: Do your due diligence, research, and utilize any and all free programs that the city, county, state and federal governments have to offer. Plan your work and implement your expertise to financial success. That why you go into business. Easy definition: ‘Confidence, Faith, Determination, and Passion for what you can achieve, from within your heart and soul.”

Each year, the hydrocarbon industry spends millions of dollars to dispose of hazardous and nonhazardous process and byproduct materials. Recycling and distribution alternatives for spent catalysts generated within this industry offers considerable opportunities and is crucial for environmental and economical sustainability.Metal Alloy Reclaimers, Inc. (Metaloy) is a company that provides non-landfill disposal solutions to the hydrocarbon industry and other like companies. The privately owned, MBE, Ohio-based company embraces the concept of Industrial Ecology by defining alternative uses for raw materials, and identifies unique applications for various byproducts generated in the hydrocarbon industry. and beneficial reuse solutions to recycle their non-hazardous catalysts, alumina and other byproducts but we also work to develop new uses for raw material and reduce industry’s dependence on more costly disposal outlets that might have a negative impact on the environment.”

Metaloy continues to develop ground-breaking innovations based on waste streams generated within the hydrocarbon industry. Metaloy has spun-off two companies, MAR Systems, Inc. and MCAT Services LLC., and currently holds eight domestic and international patents relating to the use of industrial byproducts to solve water purification and catalyst reutilization issues. Milton McIntyre Jr., President and Owner of Peak Electric, Inc., was the recipient of the University of Toledo Minority Business Development MBE of the Year award at the Evening of Chance dinner on October 9th, 2014 in Toledo, Ohio.

Peak Electric, Inc. started in 2000 as an electrical contractor. In 2012 Milt changed the direction of the business from contracting to a wholesale distribution concentration in electrical supplies. This significant step made Peak the first independent electrical supply distributor to be established in Toledo for more 25 years. Starting from scratch, Peak had to concentrate on filling a need in the industry that was not being properly serviced.

That segment was with LED lighting. Using Mcintyre’s background as a Union Electrician and the distribution

background of his partner, Rhys Petee, Peak has grown into one of the largest Cree LED lighting distributors in Ohio. Peak’s ability to assess, audit, design and supply the optimal materials has separated it from the competition.

Peak has used its success to offer a complete line of electrical products and is excited about the establishing further mutually beneficial partnerships in the years to come.

Peak Electric is dedicated to helping customers grow and prosper by providing quality products, technical expertise, and outstanding service through operational excellence. Some recent successful jobs include: Honda, BASF, Calphalon, State of Ohio, Campbell soup, CSX, Toledo Port Authority, Toledo Public Schools, The Toledo Zoological Gardens and the Ohio Department of Transportation.

THEMBESUBSCRIPTIONWhat is a subscription? A subscription is an agreement to receive or be given access to affiliate products or services.

Subscription Process Certified MBEs in good standing will not be required to provide supporting or “required documents,” due to the fact that ALL certified MBEs will be in the national database and will be available for each NMSDC member to source. The affiliate council staff will confirm that the certified MBE is in good standing. Then, affiliate council staff will present the services made available to the certified MBE.

There will be no affiliate council Board or Executive Committee review of final reciprocal applications approval, since there will be no more reciprocal services, and all subscriptions will be available to be marketed to any certified MBE, including home-certified MBEs.

The subscription service period for the certified MBE will be equivalent to the certification period it has with its home affiliate council. For example, if Company X is certified in Georgia with GMSDC from January 30, 2014 until January 30, 2015, then the subscription expiration date in Houston with HMSDC should also expire on the same date as the GMSDC certificate -- January 30, 2015.

Any certified MBE requesting subscription services acceptance within 60 days of their certification expiring at their home affiliate councils will be asked to withhold their request until recertification is completed. ALSO – if an MBE is completing a reciprocal certification purchased prior to January 1, 2014, there must be either: a proration of fees or credit granted for the new subscription term or period, or a subscription pegged to the anniversary date of their certification.

Please visit www.OhioMSDC.org to subscribe to OMSDC.

OMSDC’s subscription package includes:• Access to top corporate purchasing agents;

2014 EconomicImpact Report

Every year, the Ohio Minority Supplier Development Council collects data and conducts an economic impact report to track MBE revenue, capacity, and job creation in the State of Ohio. Data was collected on MBEs certified locally by OMSDC and MBEs that have subscription certification. The data that we collect during the certification process allows us to accurately estimate the aggregate gross annual revenue, job statistics, demographics, industry, and geographic reach. The following Economic Impact Reports include information on the data collected by the NOMSDC in 2013, the SCOMSDC in 2013, and the current combined data collected by the OMSDC.
