“Come away by yourselves to a de-serted place and rest a while.” All of us, even Jesus, need some time to “recharge our bat-teries,” and refocus ourselves. The new novices who have arrived at San Lorenzo and receive the Capuchin habit this Sunday are taking a year “away by themselves” to discern
God’s will for them. Please pray for them all. And for their formation team, our friars Frs. Robert Stewart, Philip Ber-nier, and Bill Tal-entino. May the Lord also send us
many holy vocations, especially from our parish community here at the Mission! God bless you all!
Fr. Bobby

OUR HOLY FATHER'S
INTENTIONS FOR JULY
Evangelization: Priests and their Pastoral Ministry. That priests, who experience fatigue and loneli-ness in their pastoral work, may find help and comfort in their intimacy with the Lord and in their friendship with their brother priests.
NOTICES
Did you know? Cell phone snap-shots may not be so innocent. Near-ly everyone has a cell phone and that may be great for communication and connection, but it also gives rise to concerns about who may be taking photos of you or your children with-out your knowledge. You can’t police the behaviors of others around you, but you can avoid taking pictures of your own children in public, and posting photos online that give away the locations of your favorite parks and hangouts. If your children have phones, monitor the photos they are taking and sharing, too. For a copy of the complete VIRTUS® article “Camera Phones: Unseen Dangers” visit http://www.la-archdiocese.org/org/protecting/Pages/VIRTUS-Curr ent-Online-Articles.aspx.
Classroom teacher needed to join our close-knit faculty team in providing an excellent Catholic education for our 5th and 6th grade students at La Purisima Concepcion Catholic School in Lompoc. Positive attitude, reliability, and comfort with integration of technol-ogy are necessary. Ability to be flexible, collaborate, think creatively, and estab-lish an active partnership with parents is critical. Contact the school office for more information: 805/736-6210.
Full 3-hour Session, “Protecting God’s Children” Monday, August 6, 6:00 to 9:00 PM, in the parish hall.
We are very proud of Br. Austin Cambon, OFM Cap. His special day was outstanding in the love and sup-port shared by his fellow Capuchins and the parish. Thank you to all who helped with the reception following the Mass. There are so many: Chris Castagna, Rick Lemus and Bob Leite representing the Men’s Service Club, Jim Patin, Rick Haenel, Melanie Krystkowiak, Elba Duran represent-ing her Hispanic ministry, Carol Money created the floral centerpieces and all the ladies of the Ministry of Hospitality and Caring for helping in the set-up, providing hot and cold dishes, serving and clean-up. This is our highlight of the year. Thank you!
ALSO THANK YOU to Steve and Joy Sawin for loaning the Capuchin Vocation Office their truck for the July 4 parade, the novices from San Lorenzo, the Segal family for their animated eagle on the entry, Wayne and Patti Natale for navigating the entry thru Solvang streets, and Fr. Peter Banks, Vocation Director.

NOTICIAS
