Olga-Well-Kill Olga-Well-Kill is a dynamic multiphase flow simulator tailor-made for well control applications. It is based on the OLGA engine, which has become an industry standard for modeling multiphase flow. Since its development in 1989, Olga-Well-Kill has been successfully applied on a large number of blowout and well control incidents. The substantial testing and verification of Olga-Well-Kill against data from real incidents is unique and ensures the most reliable and accurate simulation results. OWK - OLGA-WELL-KILL Olga-Well-Kill has been designed for planning and evaluation of dynamic kill and well intervention options. Today, the model is a corner stone of the main services provided by the Well Control & Blowout Support team of add energy; Blowout Contingency Planning, Simulation While Drilling services and on-site blowout and kill advising in the event of a real incident. Olga-Well-Kill can be used to analyze blowout flow, pumping schedule, casing design, kill fluid volumes and properties, pressure, temperature and other related parameters. It can handle numerous well flow configurations – from a single vertical well to multiple horizontal wells with a complex geometry. In response to a blowout in the North Sea, Olga-Well- Kill was developed by Institute for Energy Technology (IFE) in 1989. The model was based on the transient multiphase simulator OLGA, which due to an extensive research program since its beginning in 1979 has become the industry standard for modeling multiphase flow. OLGA, which is commercially licensed by Schlumberger, constantly undergoes improvements and developments, implementing the largest database of actual production data available. Today, the services of Olga-Well-Kill are offered exclusively by add energy, as an exceptionally powerful tool for oil companies and operators worldwide. Olga-Well-Kill has been applied on 70 live blowout and well control incidents, and has been central in the preparation of more than 1200 blowout contingency plans. Throughout comparative testing, Olga-Well-Kill has shown a remarkable match with data from the real incidents, which no other multiphase software has come close to achieving. The software is continuously being im- proved, with the aim of helping operators to recover fast- er and safer from incidents, as well as developing reliable contingency plans prior to operations. Olga-Well-Kill has been designed for planning and evaluation of dynamic kill and well intervention options.
