Olin Chlor Alkali Products is one of the largest U.S. manufacturers of chlorine and caustic soda with headquarters located in Cleveland, TN. These products play a key role in water disinfection and in the manufacture of pharmaceuticals and plastics. Olin’s St. Gabriel and Plaquemine facilities (Louisiana Operations) own and operate 41.7 miles of pipeline through Iberville, Ascension, and Assumption parish. Olin transports hydrogen gas, liquefied chlorine, and brine through the pipelines to Production facilities and downstream customers. In 2015, Olin acquired a brine pipeline from Dow who retains all land ownership on which this brine pipeline is located. PIPELINE SAFETY AT OLIN ST. GABRIEL & PLAQUEMINE

In keeping with this policy, the Olin St. Gabriel plant is committed to operating its pipelines safely and in compliance with all applicable rules and regulations.

To ensure the continued safety of our pipelines, we conduct regular visual ground-level inspections of pipeline right-of-ways, and maintain cathodic protection systems to protect the pipelines from corrosion.

Olin St. Gabriel’s public education program is designed to prevent third-party damage to its pipelines and protect the public, as third-party digging and excavating is the leading cause of pipeline accidents. We are a member of LA One Call, an organization designed to help the public, contractors and others

identify the location of pipelines before excavation or digging projects to prevent pipeline incidents. We also have above-ground marker signs in place to alert the public and contractors that a pipeline is present close by.

Emergency preparedness and planning measures are in place in the unlikely event that a pipeline incident occurs. Our control room employees monitor our facilities 24 hours a day, seven days a week and are trained to respond to various emergency conditions.

Pipelines are the safest and most efficient method of transporting our products to our customers. However, Olin St. Gabriel will work closely with local emergency response organizations to educate them regarding our pipelines and how to respond should an emergency occur.
