Congratulations to OBI junior artist Stephen King who was accepted to the 2017 Governor’s School for the Arts in the area of Visual Arts. After a months-long process of building his portfolio, he was named a GSA finalist in February and presented his work to judges in person in March. GSA reviewed over 700 applications in all nine art forms, and 256 students were accepted for the 2017 program. Stephen will be studying art for three weeks this summer alongside 35 of Kentucky’s best high school artists.

The OBI Choir and Ensemble sang at the annual Kentucky Woman’s Missionary Union Missions Celebration on Saturday, April 1, 2017 at Central Baptist Church in Corbin, Kentucky. Two of our choir members, Seth Shockley and Ivy Wandle, shared testimonies about the impact Oneida Baptist Institute has had on them as students.

OBI Drama produced “Romeo and Juliet’s Unofficial, Unnecessary Sequel” by Edward J. Thomas March 30-April 1, 2017 with a matinee performed on March 29 for Oneida Elementary School and OBI K-8.
