Conference Information
Objective
India is the second most populous and largest democratic country in the world and
is one of the few countries endowed with abundant land and water resources. A
large percentage of the Indian population is dependent on agriculture for its
sustenance. Since independence, considerable efforts have been made towards
attaining sustainable development in water resources engineering and
management.
Necessity to organize the International Conference on
is to provide a platform for policy and theme
oriented deliberation on the subject.
This conference is being organized by Department of Water Resources
Development and Management (WRDM), Indian Institute of Technology Roorkee
(IITR) and Indian Water Resources Society (IWRS) Roorkee, which will educate
the engineers, researches and stake holders who will attend it as delegate and help
in furtherance of knowledge about intelligent hydro informatics, river basin water
management for urban and rural area, irrigation, hydropower, environment, health,
disaster, governance, coastal management, capacity building and soon.
The STIWM-2018 aim to interact the stakeholders, farmers, managers and
researchers to share the experiences of experts and extend knowledge by
presentation of fundamentals/applied scientific advances made in the field of water
resources engineering and management for sustainable development.
The conferences at International level always harnesses various technologies in
nation's development. Present conference will provide an opportunity to policy
maker, academicians, various researchers and students to share their experiences
and knowledge of fundamental/applied scientific advances made in field of water
resources engineering. The conference will be come out with pedagogies through
various researchers related with sustainable technologies in fields of hydro-
informatics, River basin management, Water-Health-Environment, hydropower
management, irrigation water management and management of coastal water in
which ISRO playing its vital role through Remote sensing technology.

Instructions for Presenters
International Conference on "Sustainable Technologies for Intelligent Water Management”
All presenting authors are requested to transfer their presentation to the conference PC/laptop directly before start of their session in their respective halls. Participants will not be allowed to use their own personal laptop to present their work. They are requested to handover a USB-stick with their presentation to the conference assistant.
The duration of each oral presentation is 12-15 minutes. If the presenter takes more than the scheduled time, the discussion time may be reduced or cancelled accordingly. Presenters should contact their session chairperson 10 minutes before the session.
Organizing committee of the STIWM-2018 facilitates the selective presentations in the form of poster and/or PICO (Presenting Interactive
thContent) on 19 February 2018. The session judge will select best PICO presentation and the best poster/presenters shall be awarded at the end of session. The guidelines for poster and PICO sessions are as follows:
• Prepare a poster of standard A0 size (width = 46.8 inch and height = 33.1 inch) in landscape.
• Poster should include these details: title, name of author(s) with affiliations and email (corresponding author).
• Moreover, details about introduction, materials, methods, results, and conclusions of the research work should be presented in the poster.
• Author(s) should present their poster in the PICO session. This session will provide a screen to present a poster in front of audience. Then, all session attendees will have enough time to hold discussions with the author(s) and colleagues.
