A Bakers Dozen The thirteen kindergarteners in Mrs. Matson's class

have painted their favorite cookie on a beautiful

cookie jar. They also selected a color and created a

rainbow platter capturing their special hand prints!

Each student wrote the title of his or her cookie for

the unique recipe book which includes a picture of

them painting their cookie on the jar. This is a special

Mrs. Ersek's Class

Reach for the Stars Mrs. Ersek's grade two class began by making

signature bracelets. Each student chose various

beads and patterns to create a unique bracelet that

would identify each hand in the group photo. The

students put their hands together to create stars for

the picture. The image was then printed onto wood.

The natural tones and grain of the wood combined

with the photo of the student’s sweet, little hands

create a truly unique work of art. To accompany the

artwork is a photo block puzzle. The double sided

puzzle is made of 2'' x 2'' woodblocks, on a

handcrafted wood tray. One image is of the

students in a more formal pose and the opposite side

shows their crazier side.

Fine & Performing Arts Center

Sound System and Fly Loft

With your help this evening we will fund two

important components of the new Fine & Performing

Arts Center theater: the fly loft and the sound system.

A fly loft will provide the opportunity for many more

sets and backgrounds than is currently possible for

drama performances. Further, sets can be ‘flown’ in

and out from above, reducing the noise and

difficulty of changing scenery.

The new sound system will include amplifiers,

speakers, and a fully digital sound console with 32

channels that will allow us to provide microphones to

more performers simultaneously, digitally adjust

sound to balance music and voices, and save

settings for various performances.

These two components will vastly improve both

audience and performer experiences in drama and

music programs, chapel, and other activities that use

the stage.

Tabletop Christmas Tree Each student in Ms. Jacobson’s grade four class has

lovingly put together a pocket on this beautiful

Advent quilt. Inside each unique pocket is an

ornament handmade by the student who designed

the pocket. For each day leading up to Christmas,

you can pull out a one-of-a-kind ornament and

hang it on the tabletop Christmas tree. The pockets

are large enough to add your own special treats or

trinkets making for a very special holiday season filled

with surprises. The quilt is hand quilted by a

professional quilter and it is made to hang on a door

or wall. It measures 25” X 55” and will bring joy for

years to come!

students layered hand-cut, delicate glass pieces to

create the different shapes, sparkles, and colors.

Mrs. Fowler's Class

Tree of Life In this adaptation on Gustav Klimt's, ''Tree of Life'', the

students in Mrs. Fowler's grade six class created

panels using ink, watercolor, and oil paint. After

sketching their pieces, they used descriptive words,

capturing what makes them unique, to form the

branches and trunk. This whimsical tree is finished

with colorful knots, leaves, and flowers. The night sky

background was created with watercolor pencils in

a rich blue tone. Pieces were assembled and framed

and it measures: 24” x 24”.

Mrs. Dineen's Class

Rising Up and Branching Out! Mrs. Dineen’s grade six students are getting ready to

move up and branch out into Middle School! To

commemorate this transition, the students created

their own unique tree, and within its branches,

penned a mini auto-biography representing this

moment in time - their goals, person of inspiration,

favorite food, hobby, character quality, etc. The

trees were hand drawn by each student and then

etched into copper for a three-dimensional effect. A

patina was added to highlight the details of each

student’s creation, and the collection was mounted

on an 18” x 36”canvas, ready to display.

will spend the day as the Lower School head at the Valley

Campus with Mrs. Gephart. The student will visit the

classrooms, send emails, eat lunch with the teachers,

attend meetings, and consult on important decisions.

You and a friend will enjoy a fun-filled afternoon with Miss

Patrick at the Woodland Park Zoo. We will ''ooh'' and

Pavilion and have more fun than a barrel of monkeys!
