One-point perspective is a drawing method that shows howthings appear getting smaller as they go further back into thedistance, meeting at a ‘vanishing point’ on the ‘horizon line’.This technique helps make drawings on a flat piece of paperlook three-dimensional and realistic.

It is a really great way to start getting kids into understandingthe ‘rules’ of art!

Horizon Line

Vanishing PointIn one-point perspective drawing, you use a horizon line and a vanishing point to align your objects too. Any object that is positioned above the horizon line, aredrawn as if you are looking up at it. Any objects position below the horizon line, are drawn as if you are looking down on it.

You will need a ruler, pencil and crayons

Using a ruler, connect the shapes to the vanishing point and colour in!Draw and connect your own shapes to the vanishing point. For an advanced option, try writing your name!
